I've been seeing Cirque du Soleil since I first saw a Mystere, decades ago. In all, I know they've totaled in double digits. I would say this is my least favorite and least entertaining, just one step below zumanity. Venue and seating were very nice however. This show has been on my radar for a while now, but it's always dark on Sun/Mon when I'm available to see shows. I was finally able to see a Tuesday night show and so glad I did. Like most Cirque shows, there isn't a real plot, except a celebration of New York. In my opinion, it's the music that makes this production stand out. The arrangements of songs you probably know are outstanding. The musicians are great and part of the show. The overall pacing is really nice. From the videos/pictures I've seen, the Cirque type acts change depending on the season, or maybe the day. For the show I saw, the comedian was pretty weak, but the magician was very good. The acrobatics acts are also top notch. They warn you there will be adult language and audience participation, but it's nothing close to Absinthe over at Caesar's, or even Zumanity if you saw that Cirque show. Personally, if I were to see the show again, I would sit further back so you can really see everything, and you don't have to strain your neck to look up. There is some audience interaction if you sit down front, and in the middle, so you've been warned if you buy those seats. read more

I was recently in Las Vegas for my birthday weekend and decided to see Mad Apple because I have already seen all the other cirque shows. I would say my favorite is O and second being Ka, third is Mystere. Mad Apple was a really great show and a bit different than the other ones given that there was some stand up comedy, shadow puppets, and more dancing versus circus acts. They do engage with the audience and the auditorium itself is fairly small so it is a much more intimate setting than the other shows. There is a lot of great music in it and the total run time it's under 90 minutes. It is a bit different than the traditional Cirque show so that may upset some people, but I would suggest if you are a fan of Cirque shows and do you think it is a solid show to see while visiting Vegas. read more

If you have seen the traveling version of Cirque de Soleil, know this isn't the same thing. Although acrobatics is less emphasized, there are still some edge of the seat moments. I took my friend who recently became a widow to this show. It was last minute booking. She really wanted to see a cirque show. Everything sold out except Mad Apple. They didn't offer senior rates, but I did find seats in the side for a great price. No matter where you sit, it's great. It's a more intimate theater that I'm used to. I've attended a lot, my fave being Joyá. I've purchased merch and photos at each show. All the performers were amazing! Talented, I watched everyone's facial expressions, the musicians professionalism, I was really impressed with the horn and woodwind players. The energy the performers have me energy. It was my friends first time, and she really enjoyed it. Of course I bought a tee and the photos. It's not like the other cirques shows I've seen but it was totally fun. As a retired musical theater performer, It made me miss the stage. Our favorites were the aerial acts. Seems like this theater was a little more organized than the Mysteré theater crew that's handled tickets, etc... Then you for an enjoyable night. read more

Mad Apple is a Cirque du Soleil show located in the New York New York hotel and casino, in the south end of Las Vegas Blvd. I absolutely loved this show. Firstly, the price was right (the most affordable tickets of all the Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas). Secondly, it's not a traditional, abstract, and acrobatic-heavy Cirque show. It's a variety show with live singers, musicians, dancers, acrobats, aerialists, and other circus acts. The performances were all amazing. My favorite was the hair aerialists and the wheel of death. Thirdly, the venue was perfect. I got seats on the last row of the first floor, and was still able to see everything perfectly. It looked like they have some performers that rotate or aren't permanent, such as the magicians and the stand-up comedian. Both were my least favorite... the humor felt out of touch with the rest of the show. Overall, I loved this show and would love to watch it again. My husband and I attended a 9:30pm show on a Friday and sat in Section 305 Seats AA 1-2. The section is bar stool counter seating which we enjoyed as we had a nice view of the stage from up above. We arrived around 9:20pm and the staff were very friendly upon greeting us and showing us to our seats. The show is about 90 minutes. The performers are amazing with high energy! Before the show started, they had guests participate in games up on stage and you could grab drinks on stage. Once the show started, there was no photography or video recording allowed. From singing, dancing, acrobatics, to stand up comedy skits, this show has it all to keep you entertained. This was a great ending to our night. The show is located in New York New York Hotel and Casino. We were able to walk from Park MGM and went through the back side of the entrance this way on the T-Mobile Arena side. The theatre was closest to this entrance. read more

There were so many things I liked about the show but equally there were so many things I didn't like. The thing that bothered me the most and angered me was how my wife was treated by one of the staff when she unknowingly broke a rule. Things didn't get any better when I tried to talk to a manager about the incident. This is just another example of how things go at New York, New York Hotel and Casino. This show is the most reasonably priced of all the strip Cirque shows and offers good value. It's a variety style show - mixing comedy and clowning and aerialists and acrobats and contortionists. They have live singers singing popular music too - a plus. Like any variety show, some parts appeal more than others. The show stopper is at the end - they bring out a wheel of death and the acrobats perform amazing tricks. Nice to be able to sit in the front row of the balcony to get a great view of the show. The pre-show is set up as a speakeasy on the stage. You can take a photo with a cast member or buy a drink from the bartender at the Chrysler Building. How creative and fun. Then, it's onto the show. Mad Apple is a high energy Cirque du Soleil show that showcases an exciting night set on the streets of NYC filled with music, dancing, acrobatics and basketball. Each act puts you in the heart of the Big Apple. Loved the flips, twists and highflying acts. The comedian was also entertaining. The death defying Wheel of Death was amazing. The game of basketball with the dunks, flips and breakdancing was so much fun to watch. Something for everyone in the city that never sleeps. Check out Mad Apple for a great evening of a different type of Cirque du Soleil. It is in a smaller venue, but we loved our balcony seating. The ticket is extremely reasonably priced, the staff was super friendly, and the show itself was very entertaining. The dancers were great. The singers were amazing, and all the cirque act were truly something to see. We sat front row essentially their "onstage" seating which was really cool. My very first Cirque de soleil show. Don't take drink outside since they served drinks on the stage so you can purchase directly from the actors from the stage. They have bar, I don't know how good they are as bartenders but give it a try. They little performance they had before show was super cute. This ona is combination of stanup, acrobatics and singing. I went to Mad Apple on a whim. We payed for upper level tickets but when we arrived they said the upper level was closed so they upgraded our seats (to the second row!). The show was fun. There were some cool stunts and performers. There's a pretty good variety. The stage itself is also really cool. At New York New York's Mad Apple you're able to climb on stage before the show and order drinks, take selfies, and explore. A bartender did some light entertainment. We were seated in the middle at M and N 10-11 for each row. This is as central as you can get with a clear view of the walkway that separates the first and second sections. The venue is intimate. You're able to take photographs, without flash - no recording. Instead of clowns, the transitions featured a street performer of sorts juggling boxes and hand puppeting, a comedian who went there, and a magician with a dry sense of humor. I loved the magician bit - I was hollering at his quips. The band was fantastic, and they each shined in different acts, particularly in the Icarian games and the wheel of death. The wheel was interesting because we usually see the sides but this time the wheel was facing the center of the stage. The Game act with the acrobats and dunks were a lot of fun. This was the most graceful hand balancer I've seen so far. The whole energy of the show reminded me of Beatles Love. I'd rate this show behind Auana and Luzia and before Love and Mystere. If the shows are constantly rotating I look forward to the next time! read more

Very different than all the others Cirque du Soleil shows! (I've watched O, Ka, kooza, Echo) We sat on the upper level in the stool chairs and it was the perfect spot to see things from above. The bad was awesome. The acrobats and tricks seem very similar to the other shows. We took my in laws here the weekend of Veterans Day. They enjoyed the show BUT it was difficult for them to fully understand what was going on because they don't speak English. This show has much more dialogue and even comedy jokes thrown in. For some reason, wifey and I were expecting much more sexual content but really it was just a few sexual lesbian jokes. Overall, would recommend for native English speakers and folks that understand American satire. read more

This production is extremely bad. It was not even worth a dollar.It was so bad we considered leaving before the end of the performance. When you first act is a building block trick you know you are in trouble. The fellow who did that trick was not entertaining and downright annoying. He was not funny and him trying to be sexy was like watching a crack addict try to be sexy. The whole show was disjointed. I am not sure what the purpose of the show was because it did not invoke New York at all. I lived in New York in the 90s and 2000s none of what was presented had anything to do with New York except for bucket drumming which is extremely out dated. The master of ceremonies dialogue gave you no clue what this had to do with New York and what each transition represents. The singing was subpar and please do not introduce a guitarist that is clearly playing on a synthesizer circa 80s that sounds nothing like a guitar. The only bright spots was the acrobatics and the women who was on the pole but neither was specular. The Asian comedian was truly the highlight. I have been to many Cirque shows this one made me never want to go to another one. I guess this show was designed for people who have never been to New York. What was put on that stage was not New York. The quality was awful and this experience has turned me off of Cirque. read more

Really loved the show! Was pleasantly surprised by the shuffling of acts and the inclusion of a comedian. We all agreed the singers and the music were exceptional. Lots of fun seating next to stage. Mad Apple was my first Cirque show and it did not disappoint! A group of 6 of us went to the show together and we all enjoyed it. It combined comedy, dancing, signing, acrobats and sports all in one show. There was so many things that kept us on the edge of our seat or cheering so loud. The comedians had is laughing so hard and the manager did an amazing shadow puppet show. I am so glad we were able to do this and get tickets to go together as a group. I would reccomend this show.
