Soft serve ice cream and brown sugar boba latte. Yum!
    Marie V.

Mad For Cheesecake isn't just about their famous cheesecakes; it's a treasure trove of sweet treats. My recent visit to the National City, Plaza blvd location was such a treat and I was absolutely *mad* for everything I tried. lol! So I had the Tiger Boba Latte --also known as the "Brown Sugar Boba Latte"--and it was so good. The brown sugar syrup brought the perfect depth of sweetness, not overpowering but just enough to make each sip rich and satisfying. The boba pearls were the highlight, absolutely *perfect*. Unlike the often hard, chewy boba you might find at other places, these were fresh, warm, and soft, bursting with flavor. They had that wonderful melt-in-your-mouth quality that makes you keep reaching for more. This drink alone is worth the visit. If you love boba, you know that the quality and freshness of these sweet tapioca pearls is everything. *chef's kiss* And speaking of must-try items, the Ahboong (the Korean fish-shaped pastry) is something you have to try. We always get at least two during our visits, and for good reason. The soft, golden pastry is filled with the most indulgent, smooth filling. It's the perfect sweet bite. If you've been to Somi-somi, these are similar, if not better. But the true crowd pleaser is the Nutella Taiyaki. If you're a fan of Nutella, this is the one to get. The taiyaki (the fish-shaped waffle cone) is warm, golden, and crispy on the outside, while the Nutella filling inside is hot, rich, and gooey--melting with every bite. It's a little messy but totally worth it. Ok, it can get really messy if you're excited to eat it like I was lol. So make sure you grab enough napkins. You can also get them filled with different flavors, like custard, but come on, you know Nutella is where it's at! All in all, Mad For Cheesecake has something for every sweet tooth, from its drink offerings to pastries. It's not just about cheesecakes (though those are probably excellent too, I'm gonna try it next time!), but the whole experience is what keeps me coming back. Highly recommend visiting for a sweet, satisfying experience you'll want to repeat again and again.

We wanted some dessert after we ate at a nearby place in the same shopping center. I walked up and ordered a Japanese cheesecake and it was packaged up and given to me right away. The service was quick and friendly. The ambience inside was cute and they had plenty of seating. I like how they had the different cheesecakes on display so that you could see what they looked like. The packaging that the cheesecake came in was very cute. Japanese cheesecake is already not exactly what a common cheesecake is like, but this one was not creamy either. It had a much more cake like consistency to it, but it still had a good flavor to it.

I wish I could give five stars because they have such a yummy dessert selection! But the fact that they denied me access to the restrooms as a paying customers is extremely concerning. It was 8PM (an hour before closing). I really liked my dessert (custard/milk) combination. This was similar to the popular store SomiSomi except the fish was crunchier which I liked, and the ice cream was a larger serving than what SomiSomi provides.

This dessert shop specializes in cheesecake and has plenty of seating despite its small size. The staff was incredibly welcoming and gave great recommendations. I tried the matcha double fromage cheesecake and the yaki pudding cheesecake--both were delicious, though not the best I've had. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with great service and a cozy atmosphere. A nice spot to satisfy a cheesecake craving!

I stopped by here to grab some cheesecake for a party and for my hubby's dad's birthday back in February. They have quite a lot of options, so I wasn't sure what to get! For my FIL, I got him their newest flavor, the double chocolate cheesecake. He loved it! The Japanese was okay, but all 3 cheese tarts were great! I tried the chocolate, matcha, and regular tarts. On my visit I got a strawberry lychee for myself and a brown sugar boba for hubby. The drinks were a bit sweet though. The yaki pudding cheesecake was so cute! The taiyakis were delicious and filled with Nutella. Overall, I would definitely come back here if you are craving for cheesecake- the double chocolate one was my favorite!

This review is based on the soft serve Tayaki only. We did not try the cheesecakes. But. The prices of the cheesecakes were high compared to other Asian similar places in SD. The soft was very smooth, creamy and sweet. The fish cone was fresh and chewy. Mine was Ube Aboong. The ice was very smooth and creamy and too sweet. The ube flavor was barely present. The cone was filled w custard. We had to wait 10 mins for our icecream, because they make the cones fresh and they come out warm. One of the better cones ive had. My girlfriend had Cookies and cream Aboong. Again the "cookie" was barely cookie flavor was barely present and was overwhelmed w sweet cream flavor. The ambience was inviting and laid back. I will be back to try the cheesecakes at some point, but I probably wouldnt return for the ice cream. There are better places in SD in my opinion.

Came with a girlfriend who was jonesing for something sweet after a savory lunch, and took a sip and couple nibbles of her order despite my already full tummy (oh the things I do for Yelp ;)... Cute, clean space and fast service. Matcha Latte was as expected and fine if nothing special, but the Baked Cheese Tart was quite delicious and surprisingly sweet. Only negative was that it was rather difficult to remove from its container - the tart shell kept sticking to the edges, resulting in quite a bit of work to actually eat!

The manger I think didn't catch her name, Lea, John and Trojan are great! Everyone is all very welcoming and helpful. The options were explained and everything was delicious. We got the Yaki Pudding, Cheese tart and Ah-Boong. The Yaki pudding was the just right amount of sweet and similar to Filipino style leche flan. The cheese tart, was so sweet and savory nicely balanced. The Taiyaki is crispy and soft in the middle. Everything was so yummy. A perfect Sunday after church treat.

Thought I was not going to be able to find something here as a lactose person, but I was able to find some dairy free drinks! Sorry vegans and lactose people, but the actual desserts all have dairy. I ordered the taro milk tea with almond. The lady was able to adjust the sugar level for me to half as I do not like very sweet drinks. It was perfect as it had a soft sweet taste to compliment the taro taste. Definitely coming back to try their blended drinks (can be made dairy free) and see what other seasonal drinks they come out with.

I had no idea there was another Asian business community in San Diego outside of Convoy. This place was located next to a Daiso store. Pros: -free parking in a shared parking lot -they sell different types of cheesecake, milk teas and taiyaki. Cons: -n/a Overall, a good place to stop by if you want some dessert.

Very cute shop. All the packaging is adorable as well- expected from a Japanese dessert shop. We had a chocolate, regular and matcha cheesecake and they Were great. Also wanted to share that im not a big matcha fan- most matcha ive had tastes grassy to me. What i have learned is that means its lower quality. I am happy to report that this matcha was not grassy. Very subtle and fresh flavor- i enjoyed it. All 3 flavors are delish and i enjoyed them for my bday celebration!

I was excited to try this since I saw this on the gram. Aesthetically pleasing with the wooden wave ceiling and the cute display case, this was a refreshing addition to National City. Situated right next to Seafood City, this place had ample parking available in the strip mall. I ordered the white peach boba which was sweet and light. The cheesecake I ordered was the Matcha Double Fromage Cheesecake, which is featured in many media outlets. Sadly, this was so frozen that I had to ask the cashier to cut this in smaller pieces. Not sure if this is the way it's supposed to be presented, but for the price point of almost 11 dollars for one slice, my expectations were high. Cheesecake flavor was not prominent, and other than it being too hard, it was flaky. Sadly, I was not thrilled with my cheesecake experience as I had so much high hopes with all the hype! I did like the ambiance and the iced tea. I know that another location is due in Chula Vista, so I'm hesitant to try when the new location opens.

Went for the first time and tried their ice cream with the fish cone that is yummers!! Also bought a whole Japanese cheesecake for $13 and not only is the price right but it's very good! I like that it isn't too sweet. It's moist and custardy. I most definitely would come again. I also love that they add toppings to your ice cream for no charge! Go try it out you can thank me laters!
