In this case, I got two pork and one chicken, which I love

Exceptional Experience - 10/10 Highly Recommend: Valerio's Bake Shop consistently delivers an outstanding experience. Their pork buns are exceptional, playfully reminding me of the iconic "Nai Nai" pork buns from the film Abominable. Additionally, the chicken selections are prepared to perfection and highly recommended.Beyond the excellent culinary offerings, the customer service is exemplary. The staff members are uniformly courteous, welcoming, and attentive to customer requests. Furthermore, the establishment is well-managed; service is highly efficient with minimal wait times, and the premises are impeccably clean, comfortable, and well-air-conditioned. I rate this bakery a well-deserved 10 out of 10 and look forward to returning regularly.

This was our second time to visit this place and because we just had lunch a couple of doors down we could have done more damage here... like our first time here! So, if you never had a pandesal and you love bread, you must try this! Get them warm and fresh, with butter, OMG! But, they have so many other desserts and food bites to try. We specifically came for the fresh pandesal, which I was craving and my husband, the best, searched for a place to enjoy some fresh pandesal. This last visit we got Ensamayda (cheese roll) for our daughters. They also have the Ube Ensamayda. Besides the small sized pandesal we selected, we got a Mocha Roll too. Everything was delicious. I like the small sized pandesal but I could definitely eat the larger ones too. Parking is crazy here in this long strip mall full of food shops. Not only is parking crazy busy, but the spaces are small. You can find me back here at this Filipino Bakery when in the area!

Ilocos Empanada. I cut it in half.

National City. Went here today for ILOCOS EMPANADAS. Next to Tita's & Island Pacific. Valerio's Bake Shop has plenty of delicious choices. My kids love all the Filipino goodies. Super clean & outstanding customer service. Best prices for what you get. I highly recommend going to this location.

Stopped by here to pickup an Ensaymada which I love to enjoy for breakfast. I got in line, it was 10 deep on a Saturday afternoon. I was happy to find a large Ube Ensaymada here! They also have the individual smaller ensaymadas. There are also all types of Filipino pastries available. I laughed because after waiting in line in front of me, an older Filipino Lola in line got to the front and asked for Chicken Empanadas. The woman at the counter told her that it would be a 40 minute wait. The Lola started cursing and walked out. She said, "Ay Na Ko, 40 minutes is STUPID!" It was funny. I purchased my items and left. I got my large Ube Ensaymada and a 6 pack of Ube Cheese Pan De Sal. Purchase was on a tap system, super convenient. Great location with the Filipino baked basics available on the spot.

Spent $45 here to feed the whole family. Got 12 pieces of still hot pandesal, 6 pieces siopao (steamed pork buns), 6 turon (fried caramelized banana), puto (rice cake), 2 chicken empanadas, and 6 Filipino style cheese rolls. Cost and value is unbeatable for fresh baked Filipino breads. This is a very nice location in national city, which is in the southern part of San Diego. The area is dense with Filipino gems, and this is the spot for sweets

Don't even know what we got but omg everything was delicious! I went in and just got everything that looked good and everything was absolutely incredible. All the flavors were well balanced, nothing too sweet and nothing too heavy either, a great brunch trying new flavors and things I never have before. And all this was only $20!!! The cheese rolls were a standout, as well as the Hopia Baboy and this flaky pastry with a sweet cheese filling (don't know what it's called but it was delicious). You can't go wrong with what you try!

Would I drive over 40 minutes to come here? Absolutely yes. And I did. Multiple times. My top three favorites are the Ube cheese roll, the regular classic cheese roll, and the ube pandesal. literally the absolute best. Super fresh. Still really great the next day if it lasts that long in your household because it barely lasts that long in mine. I highly recommend not eating the cheese roll as soon as you step in the car because you will get a little messy. Absolutely delicious bakery. You must come here and give it a try.

Mini Ensatmada Ube - 9 pack for $9

If you're looking for authentic Filipino breads, Valerio's is the spot to go. They have posters up front explaining their legacy and how long they've been a part of this community (and for good reason). I tried two pastries from here: starting with the Pan de Ube (5/5), which was an incredibly soft bread, packed with a generous serving of ube. I also tried a pack of the Mini Ube Ensaymada, which came with nine pieces. These were so soft and creamy (and a bit dangerous to have around, as they're so addicting!). Their is a mix of ube paste and cream cheese inside and topped with an interesting take of cheddar cheese. The prices are super reasonable, but take note they are takeout only. I came around mid-day, and a lot of single piece pastries were sold out by then, so id definitely recommend coming earlier for the best selections.

Food: The best filipino bakery I've been to! Everything is so fresh and flavorful. Cheese Rolls (10/10) - big, fluffy, powdered, sweet but not heavily. creamy/buttery cream cheese filling and soft Cheese Balls (10/10) - more on the savory side. cheesy, soft, and fluffy bread outside with creamy, cream cheese inside Turon (10/10) - crispy caramelized crunchy outside with sweet banana and jackfruit inside Service: Straightforward ordering at the counter process Ambiance: Small bakery to make a stop at with people constantly coming and going. Sometimes certain items will sell out for a bit of time so come early enough!

Been coming here for as long as I can remember, 20+ years. I love how they renovated and made the bakery more modern. They even have a rewards program. They have always been consistent with quality and quantity. The cheese rolls are my families absolute favorite, they do not skimp on cream cheese, they are fully loaded, every bite is heaven. I love coming in here and seeing all of the new items. They always keep up with trends. Mochi donuts, Dubai chocolate ensaymada's, Ube ensaymadas, Spanish bread, Ube crumble cookies, turon, pandesal, cheese balls etc. Everything you get here is so so good. They definitely bake with love. They do get pretty busy, so if you have a big order, I recommend you preorder. This bakery is located off Plaza Blvd, in National City. It's in such great plaza, next door is Titas kitchenette, some of the best Filipino food in San Diego, a Filipino market, other businesses that sell desserts, an award winning barbershop, a cool pawn shop, Filipino clothing store and so much more. You gotta put Valerio's on your list for baked goods!

    Michelle M.

Been coming to this bakery for over 30 years since I was a kid. I love how they make fresh Filipino sweet bread. They've upgraded to desserts such a as mochi donuts. Service is self service and a cashier Checks you out. Authentic place for Filipino pastries. Definitely recommend: You can ask for per piece, half a dozen, or a dozen "hot pandesal"

    Ilocos Empanada

Finally a place in National City where you don't have to pre-order Ilocos empanada or struggle just to try one. Valerie's Bake Shop makes it so easy to just walk in and get it fresh. The empanada was super delicious, crispy on the outside, flavorful filling, and honestly HUGE... like the size of a carne asada burrito. Definitely worth it. You can tell it's made right. I'll for sure be coming back. If you've been wanting to try Ilocos empanada without the hassle, this is the spot!

    Dubai Chocolate Ensaymadas
    Anthony P.

My wife and I randomly went here craving some ensaymadas. As I was in line, I suddenly noticed a pack of Dubai Chocolate Ensaymadas that I've never seen before. I had to try them out. I was here just for Thanksgiving and it wasn't here then. The guy behind in line asked if the chocolate ensaymadas were any good. I told him I've never had them before. He ended up picking up a pack as well. Once we got home, I ate one... could've ate both. The chocolate and pistachios were not too sweet, which was good. Everything tied in together perfectly. I'll definitely get more the next time I'm at Valerio's.

The hot Buko Pandan was stronger in flavor than the cold/iced drink. The tots were yummy and crisped perfectly but I'm not sure about the supposedly ranch dip. It was tangy for me. The Chilio Crisp Bfast Sando was delicious. It was so good that I want to return soon and have it again. The worker taking our order was very nice. He even mentioned about a restaurant in Vegas and asked if I've ever tried it-Public Us and yes I have. Overall, a great spot that can get very busy in the AM.
