They managed to keep the same relaxed neighborhood vibe people love while giving it a much more modern, polished, and upscale feel. The updated design, lighting, TVs and overall atmosphere look incredible and make the space feel fresh without losing its personality. They still have the spinning drink wheel! The outdoor seating especially feels elevated now and makes for the perfect Houston brunch spot or night out. One of the best parts about NextDoor is that it's connected to Hungry's, which means you get full access to their menu while enjoying the lounge atmosphere. Being able to order everything from cocktails and appetizers to full meals while at a bar is a game changer. The food is consistently good, the drinks are strong (especially the frozen options) well-made, and everything comes out quickly. What keeps me coming back year after year is the consistency. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive, the crowd is chill, and it never feels overly pretentious or chaotic. It's one of those rare spots that works for everything, whether it's happy hour after work, date night, catching up with friends over drinks on the patio or a solo adventure. Love seeing a longtime Houston favorite continue to evolve while still delivering the same great experience that's kept me coming back for years. Definitely one of my go-to spots on Memorial Drive. My only suggestion is to tell the younger staff members to be conscious of their conversations while guest are dining nearby. I love people watching but I heard a lot of things. It appears Hungry's uses the bar area like a break/training room or to do other tasks like rolling utensils in napkins.

Both drinks were pretty good and surprisingly strong! There's a few games outside too like giant connect 4 and Jenga. There's lots of fans around to keep the area cool and comfortable even though we were outside in the Texas heat.

Huge statues, giant artwork, crazy flooring, and all sorts of cool decorations. Whether you want to get some drinks, eat some rice bowls, sing karaoke, play video games, or dance...this place got you! There's a lot going on all at once but this place does them all right! It's an 18+ establishment and they will card you at the door. The only negative is when we were eating, there were flies flying around. Seems they could keep the place a little cleaner am to avoid this. The food was decent but honestly if you just go to drink and not eat, you won't have to worry about this. We'll be back for my fiancé's birthday as she wants to get a big group all together in a fun, large spot!

It's a rectangle bar with the back area reserved for gaming, the middle section is where the bar is and the front is the karaoke stage. Seating is scattered around the place. You have to go to the desk just inside the door to get a wrist band. This is not a serious place to go to have a drink. Its all about the visuals. The parking lot had a lot of litter and trash thrown on the ground and that pretty much sums up the type of place it is.

My favorites are the Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn sections, plus a little Rebel Without a Cause flair and a nod to the Rat Pack. It's like a time capsule of classic cool. The drinks? BIG. Like, the kind of pour you want after a long day--generous and made right. The bartender keeps it friendly, and you can tell there's a good group of regulars who keep the place buzzing without it ever feeling cliquey. Music leans into 70s/80s rock and classic vibes, which matches the décor and the crowd perfectly. Whether you're shooting pool, hanging with friends, or just in the mood for a stiff drink with some character around you, Jack's delivers. Bottom line: Fun, unpretentious, and easy to settle into. Good drinks, good music, and good people. Southwest Houston needs spots like this.
