I somehow missed the memo about BPD. My friend and I were looking for a place for HH and came across BPD on Yelp. It was a Monday night which meant we had the option to do their steak night. It was busy, but we were able to get a table without any difficulty. BPD has a nice lounge feel with large comfy couches and chairs. There's also a fireplace which gives it a homey feel. The clientele was actually a bit older which was fine with me. Our server Dennis was holding down the entire room. He was running around like crazy, but he was keeping up with the orders all evening. He even addressed me and my friend by name the entire night. Great memory and great service! It's the little things that go a long way. My friend had a margarita while I did That Cucumber Drink. It was so good and refreshing and I loved the tajin! I normally don't put much regard into a bar steak night, but once I read that BPD is in the same group as Masraff's, I knew the steak would be good. For $20, you get a choice of a 6 oz. filet, or 12 oz. NY strip. We had the option to get salad and creamed corn. The sides were buffet style so we were able to serve as little or as much as we wanted on our plates. I ordered the filet medium and it was so good! It was tender, juicy, and flavorful! The salad was good and I really enjoyed the creamed corn. I was expecting some sort of potatoes for the side dish so the corn was a pleasant surprise. We also did an order of the spinach dip and it was very tasty! It comes with sour cream and salsa on the side which we found to be strange, but it is served with tortilla chips. I've already told another friend about their steak night and she went last night. I'm definitely a fan and I can't wait to return!

Finally popped in this gem. BPD has an extensive liquor selection and a select menu of tasty bites. We were not disappointed with the atmosphere. Nice, quaint environment. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, her manager not so much. I am not a consumer that enjoys management correcting in front of customers, this put the vibe off on an otherwise great experience. We closed out and headed to another destination.

Great experience. Arrived at 6pm and sat down at a table in the center of the lounge. Ordered a specialty cocktail called the Southside and it was delicious. Greta ambience, the lights dimmed closer to 6:45 and the aesthetic is gorgeous. Great service, female server (although I didn't catch her name) she was THE BEST!

Grabbed a celebratory dinner and drinks with my friend here and the vibe was as perfect as it can get. Cozy seating & felt like home in a huge living room. Our waitresses were great as they made sure we had everything we needed often. Love that! Crab cakes were great! 4 stars because I got sick from my chicken sandwich :/ but it was great overall and I'll be back!

Love the remodel! It's been years ago, but I first visited this place when it was The Vine Room (or something similar in name to that). The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, but the decor was like an old lady's living room from the 50's. This "new" revamp is nice! It's still cozy, but now with a country club tennis room/library/tobacco lounge feel. It's hard to describe because it can fit lots of different types of people and preferences. From the separate seating areas to the open spaces, and the variety of seating options, this place is going to become a fast favorite of mine. Since we are having an unusually warm January, we sat outside on the covered patio. They have music on low so you can still have a good conversation without shouting. Not sure what days, but I was told they fire up the pit and serve some pretty good BBQ for dine in or take out. I will return to try the BBQ or at least some of their menu food. The service was good. We were greeted and served immediately. The bartender even brought our next round out to us on the patio. My martinis were $12.00 each, so the prices are slightly higher than other establishments, but the atmosphere and service is what you are truly paying for in this case. It's extremely convenient to my office and home, so that's another plus. The parking is a little tight depending on the time of day you arrive. It is located right next door to a 5-star cat hospital, so many people in the parking spots are in and out quickly. You won't wait long for a spot and you might even be fortunate enough to get one of the spots that's literally less than 10 steps from the entrance. I am a fan of easy parking! All in all, I am very pleased with my revisit to this revamp. Recommend and will return!

Come for Steak Night on Mondays, come for the strong drinks (especially for the wide whiskey selection), come for the great customer service, come for the laid back, grown, cool ambience - just come! It is definitely a hidden gem in a wonderful neighborhood bar. I arrived on a Monday to try their Steak Night. They offer a filet mignon or a ribeye with two sides (risotto with mushroom and veggies) for $20. Though delicious, it was on the saltier side for me. I also ordered their burger and it was 3.5/5 and I would order again, but would ask to reduce the salt. The music selection as well as volume that night was perfect as our group was able to converse with each other. The vibe is unpretentious, the service is regardful and well-mannered, and I can't wait to come back with more friends to enjoy more nights here.

Pretty chill and cozy place, it has couches to sit in and the drinks are well done the food was delicious I got the Orange Chicken and it came with some crispy fries. My fiancé got the texican rolls which were pretty good similar to the south west egg rolls from Chillis. Our server was pretty fast and friendly. Definitely will be coming back

The Brussel sprouts and crab hush puppies were great. The breakfast skillet, I could have done without. It had absolutely NO flavor. Hard to mess that up though right? I asked if they had any stouts and if so, if they could provide a sample. I'm so happy I asked for a sample and didn't just order the "one" stout they had. The beer was flat. So disappointing! Overall, the place was okay. I'd more than likely return for their drink happy hour, but it's a hard pass outside of that.

We came in for a girls night, and to try the girl dinner that they had been promoting. It came with Steak, Fries and a Caesar Salad and cocktail, which I think is a perfect combo. It was just enough food. Before we started our meal, we ordered the Onion Rings appetizer, and they were so good. Came out super hot and crispy batter with a yummy aioli for dipping. The steak came out perfectly cooked to my liking, the fries, super yummy, wished I had more! And the salad was light and crisp. I opted for the espresso martini, which again, made to my liking! I also ordered another drink, a vodka martini, which was nice crisp and smooth. To round out our evening, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert. They ran out of ice cream, but it was not needed. This is one of the best bread pudding's I've ever had. It had a nice toasted bottom, and was warm and gooey throughout each bite. I was only going to take a bite, but that was hard to do, so we devoured it pretty quickly. Suffice to say, I'll order that as an appetizer on my next visit!

What started out as a nice experience turned into "meh" not long after the appetizers, which were good, by the way. When the main courses started to arrive, at least three people in my party weren't happy with their food. One sent her plate back and decided not to order anything else. After seeing that, I just went for a salad to avoid further disappointment with my own food. The bill was the next headache. The waitress seemed to try her best, but she needed help. It took over an hour to get things sorted out. There was no follow-up, no "sorry for your inconveniences," especially on my birthday, or anything. Other than the restaurant's look, the apps, and I guess the cocktails, I wouldn't recommend coming for anything outside of happy hour.

Customer service was good, and the drink prices were reasonable, especially for a place of this size and popularity. It did get pretty crowded, which adds to the energy if you're going for that kind of atmosphere. There isn't a full kitchen, but there was a food truck on-site (I believe it was Hearsay). Loch Bar fits that category, but what separates it from the pack is execution and energy. It feels alive in the way only a well-run bar-restaurant in a high-traffic district can feel: polished, but never sterile. We came in on a Saturday lunch service, the kind of in-between hour where the bar is already awake but the night crowd hasn't arrived yet. The space sits comfortably in the Galleria corridor, dressed in a way that suggests money but doesn't scream it. Brass, glass, and a kind of curated coastal aesthetic that works better in practice than it sounds on paper. It's a room designed for long meals that slowly turn into longer drinks. The table started with variety because that's really the only way to do a place like this justice. The chicken and sausage gumbo arrived first, though "gumbo" feels like a polite translation. This wasn't a thin, dark roux-heavy New Orleans classic. It leaned thicker, more stew-like, closer to comfort food than tradition. Rich, hearty, and slightly reinterpreted. Purists might argue, but flavor doesn't ask permission. From there, the table kept moving: mussels in a white wine-style preparation, clean and aromatic; lettuce wraps with skirt steak that hit that sweet spot between freshness and charred beef; bread service that did exactly what bread service is supposed to do disappear quickly and make you consider ordering more; potato skins elevated with caviar, a dish that sounds like excess but lands as indulgence done with intention. The real strength of Loch Bar, though, isn't just the menu it's the range. The oyster selection alone feels like its own ecosystem, a reminder that someone in the kitchen actually cares about sourcing and variety rather than defaulting to the safe middle ground. It's the kind of seafood program that invites repetition, not just curiosity. Behind the bar was John Ross a bartender with two first names and the kind of presence that makes a busy room feel personal. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without lecturing. The drinks came with quiet confidence, and more importantly, so did the recommendations. Good bartenders don't just pour they steer. He did both. What stood out most, though, wasn't just the food or even the service it was the room itself. The bar was alive in that Saturday way: conversations spilling over, strangers slipping into dialogue, the low hum of people who are exactly where they want to be for the next couple of hours. We ended up talking with other patrons without forcing it. That doesn't happen in every restaurant. It either has that social gravity or it doesn't. By the time we left, the place had fully shifted into afternoon rhythm still relaxed, but with the sense that the night was being quietly assembled in the background. Loch Bar doesn't try to be profound. It just understands its lane: seafood, cocktails, atmosphere, and a room that knows how to hold people.

I was greeted at the entrance by friendly staff and was asked if I preferred to sit closer to the entrance or towards the back. I chose the seats deeper into the restaurant because it was a humid day and I wanted to keep my distance from the front door. We were promptly seated and here handed the menus. The menus must have been hot off the press because they were in very good condition. We proceeded to order two entrees (date night with the wife) and the food came out rather quickly. The flat rice noodle (pad si-ew) with beef is one of my go to dishes at any Thai restaurant. The one here was very good! It came out hot, presentation was nice, and the portions of beef were very generous. We also ordered the tofu yellow curry and it was delicious. The tofu was fried very well - so well that it kept up its crunch despite being soaked in the yellow curry. We got spice level 2 of 4 and it was perfect. The waiter called it "mild" but I would say closer to medium. Maybe mild for Thai food. Anyhow, no regrets and we devoured the yellow curry which also came with a side of rice. By the end of dining experience we were so full that we unfortunately did not have room for dessert. All in all, a great experience and we will be back for sure.
