Portion size of the pho is good. I really recommend getting their new viet iced coffee. It was so bold and yummy! Lots of tables and seating. Friendly & efficient customer service. Nice variety of foods. They have self serve water. Clean and spacious.

Feeling like a VIP enjoying my mini plate of Pad Thai, Lemongrass Tofu and Eggplant Tofu. Yummmmmmy

There was no good reason for me to leave my office to buy lunch today. I had a delicious and healthy lunch packed and ready in the office fridge. But Madame Saigon was literally calling to me--with perfectly cooked Pad Thai and lick-your-chops lemongrass tofu. I simply could not resist the taste-bud tantalizing siren. So I gave in to temptation and walked a couple blocks in the mid-day sun to satisfy my craving. I have NO regrets. I'm counting it as a wise-life-choice! Make good choices my mom used to say (still does actually). I got my two-choice mini plate in less than 3 minutes. The food was fresh and the service courteous. Bonus for my pescatarian palate that the sides are vegetarian and they have at least a couple vegetarian options daily. Carnivores, don't worry! They have a variety of choices for you as well! Everyone can find something here. You can also pick up a bahn-mi sandwich or one of the many ready-to-go options near the counter. Again, they know how to cater to an eclectic and energetic downtown lunch crowd. I LOVE that they have a station with small containers of yummy sauces. You can help yourself! And I do...usually to a hot chili and a plum sauce. Grabbed a nice cup of iced cold water that they offer for free, found a seat out front (but they have many tables inside also), and devoured all the deliciousness I recalled from my last visit. Madame Saigon, you have me 'hooked' with your clean establishment, friendly staff, efficient service, hospitable atmosphere, and most of all, your amazingly yummy food. In the words of the Terminator (full Schwarzenegger accent)--I'll be back!

Two co-workers and I went to Pioneer Plaza to pick up lunch. This time we ended up at Madame Saigon. My compadres ordered the two choice plate and I opted for a combo banh mi. It took a long time to get my sandwich ... Interestingly, it's made inside but finished outside where sandwiches are displayed in the glass case. The combo is okay; I've had better at other places in downtown Honolulu, especially when one considers that my sandwich cost $15.18. The two choice plate appears to be a better deal. The person serving was very generous with the portions she doled out.

Their pho is pretty good when you want to get something soupy in downtown. Also have Thai food plate lunches and banh mi as well.

Per Yelp, i saw that there were 2 other locations of Madame Saigon. One at Remington College building and other at Pioneer Plaza. I'm not sure if the other 2 locations are still open. This location is located 1008 Bishop St American Savings Tower. It is on the left My Barbecue korean food and around the corner is Jack in The Box. I went into the business and took photos but didn't bother to ask the employee if this a new location. I had their food at Remington College.

This is the BBQ Pork Sandwich with a crunchy baguette, soft tender BBQ pork, just right pickled carrots and daikon.

I have been to Madame Saigon early this year and I see this place getting better. Don't get me wrong the food is excellent and I shall come back for more.

Made sure to come here the first night I landed so I did not miss out and could see if it lived up to the hype. It did. It is such a fun place to feel like you are having a picnic. You know this place is good since there is a steady line of people ordering bags and bags of food. Just to say, this is another must-do must-try place for food. We was super excited to have the mixed plate with gravy. It was beef, chicken and fish with rice and mac salad. It was huge and perfect. It tasted amazing and I would order this again and again. We had two of those. We also tried the loco moco and classic dish, and the saimin, which I had always wanted to try. One child also ordered the BBQ pork sandwich which she enjoyed and since it was a small menu item could help with the mix plate, which is impossible to finish in one sitting. I was stuffed and in woman versus food, food won overwhelmingly. I wish I had room to try the slush and ice cream or other items, but I could not eat another bite. So many items on the menu were very tempting and I am sad I only got to visit here one time. I do hope to return and have so many things on my dish wish list, but that mixed plate was so good, I bet I would go with that again.

The four of us shared the loco moco plate, boneless chicken with gravy plate, and the BBQ beef plate. Food was good and hearty. My favorite was the loco moco plate. Boneless chicken had some pieces that were on the pink-ish side and the breading was a little soggy and didn't stick to the chicken that well. BBQ beef plate was good but nothing mindblowing. Some beef slices were dry. Mac salad was good. Overall good place for a cozy classic Hawaiian meal.

We always say if there is a line out the door that is the place to try and this place definitely had a long line out the door, but that was fine, it gave us a chance to figure out what we wanted to try. They are such a small business, but not only have food but many fun souvenir items to buy. They have copies of the menu outside posted as well as menus you can browse as you wait in line, but also pay attention to the chalk board for more choices not listed on the menu. We all went with the same pick, shrimp and avocado musubi. It was so fresh, the absolute best musubi that I have ever had, period! They have more items that just musubi. People were coming out with bags and bags of food. It was love at first bite for me with musubi and onigiri, so when I saw a spot dedicated to this deliciousness you better believe I made a point to go there! I ran even faster when StaciLei, Yelp Hawaii's amazing Community Manager, told me it's a must and gave me her list of greatest hits and must not miss items as a guide! Now I've had a lot of these in my life, and I must say, Iyasume are easily the best. See musubi and onigiri have humble origins as a quickly made homespun snack or on the go lunch, and when you spot them in the convenience environment they're often a giant ball of rice with a tinge of protein or seasoning for flavor. At Iyasume, these are culinary adventures, stacked with ingredients, all in handheld form, and the variety they offer is IMPRESSIVE! Of course musubi starts with the classic, SPAM. I had to order the kimchi + spam, shiso + spam, and unagi + tamago + spam, all of which were awesome (even the next day!). Onigiri here are actually layered with ingredients, so you get them in every bite, unlike the convenience store versions! They have a HUGE menu, and I went with spicy mentaiko and salmon, spicy mentaiko and ikura, ikura and salmon, and tuna mayo curry, all of which were great. I LOVE that they make these to order. You can see the line in the back hard at work, and they're very fast. You're sure to encounter a line when you arrive, but don't be scared, it moves quickly. I only had to wait about 5 minutes for mine to come up! Well worth it. Reasonably priced. Very filling. A taste of Hawaii and Japan in one place that'll have everyone smiling!

The chicken skin had a nice crunch to it and the meat was juicy (not super oily, but juicy.) The mashed potatoes and gravy weren't bad. They were not super fluffy but a little more on the dense side. (Nothing bad, just dense.) The gravy was somewhat runny with just the right amount of saltiness. The spaghetti was surprisingly good! It's been a few years since I've gone to a Jolly Bee and I had imagined the spaghetti to only be sweet and savory. It was actually pretty good! (Not in an Italian way though. It was a little spicy, which I loved! I wasn't expecting it to be spicy so it was a very pleasant surprise! It was a tad sweet...just the right amount! (There isn't a 3-piece combo on the menu, but the server was kind enough to accommodate my request for an extra piece of chicken.) It came with a container of gravy that made me wonder what it was for, immediately. Then I remembered all the commercials and YouTube videos where food reviewers either slathered their chicken with the gravy or they dunked it into the gravy. I was so hungry that I forgot for a few seconds that the gravy was for the chicken, thus I drank most of the gravy!! The dining area is constantly cleaned and draws a diverse crowd. Because it is at the beginning of downtown it does attract some homeless people as well. But, that's life in the big city, right? When I went to the restroom I found it amusing that a male Jollibee employee was changing his shirt. It seemed he was done for the day. Overall, it was a pleasant meal. There's not much to be said since this is comfort food, not gourmet food!

Service is okay and the food quality is consistent for what you get/pay for. The surrounding area is a little run down, and if you are from out of town, might feel a little scary, but I've never had any issues while eating there. This past visit, they came out with the chicken nuggets which we tried. They looked like over cooked chicken stones, but inside, they tasted okay. Our order is almost always missing at least one item, the wait times are extremely long for food, and even when the app (if you order on the app) says your food is ready, it's usually not. I would still eat here again.

At the time, he stated that him and his partner were in a competition to see how many triples they could sell, but figured I'd keep that in the back of my mind for our next visit. We came here on a recommendation from my boyfriend's coworker and I'm glad we came! The burgers and fries were made fresh. There are only a hand full of tables inside and a small bar area, but there is also outdoor seating outside, too! A neat fact is that there were pictures posted from when the shop first opened up and to see They Daley as a fixture in Chinatown is amazing since they've stuck around and adapted to the development around. The burger was delicious, too. They have an aioli sauce that was good with diced up pickles. Usually I request no pickles but the small bursts really added to the texture and feel of the burger overall. 10/10 would come again!

I'm pleased to report that this latest order contained a perfectly prepared burger and a bag of crispy fries (as ordered). The remaining nitpicks were: 1) having to wait an additional 10 minutes past the time the order was supposed to be ready, 2) paying $6 for a bag of fries. Increase the price of the burger by $1 and reduce the price of the fries. Yes, the total would be the same but the value would be where it belongs. In any case, $10 is money well spent for a great burger.
