I ordered a French 75, a cocktail consisting of London Dry Gin, Sparkling wine, lemon juice and simple syrup ($15) while we perused the menu. I had Vermicelli Cold Noodle with spring roll and pork (Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio, $19.50), Number 17 at our favorite place on Smith and Hotel Streets. Another chose Chicken Pho (Mien Ga, $17.75) while the third tried the Vietnamese Beef Stew (Bo Kho, $19.75). We split a Classic Combo Banh Mi ($15.50). My vermicelli dish was fine, on par with the one at P** V******, but maybe not as good as the one at K*** V********* C******. I didn't hear any complaints about the Mien Ga. The Beef Stew was petite but came with two large pieces of toasted baguette. I was disappointed in the banh mi ... the baguette felt stale and there weren't enough pickled vegetables (do chua) and cilantro for me. I can get a better banh mi for $11 elsewhere. What did I think? The food was okay, but we could get comparable dishes for less money at three places in Chinatown. I was hoping for more ... As such, a rating of 3.75. Postscript: The co-worker that ate the beef stew suffered from intestinal distress for the remainder of the afternoon. He was the only one to use the raw basil and bean sprouts. Would give zero stars if I could. Customer service was awful. Our young server (wearing a Stussy shirt) looked irritated every time we had to ask for anything and completely forgot our drinks. The food itself was meh, and to top it off there was a hair in my dish. The server said sorry but immediately made us pay the full bill with no refund or any compensation. He didn't even tell anyone else, so we had to show the chef ourselves after we had already paid. Extremely disappointing. Summer Rolls - The best I've had on the island **if not for any reason than 1) the veg was not brown, 2)there was a pork layer, 3) there was a shrimp layer. An Di Dzo did not disappoint! Planned to treat my girlfriend to a long-overdue catch-up session. Made reservations at 5 pm. When we arrived, we were the first guests so got to pick our table. When we sat down at the pretty wooden booth, there was a happy hour menu on the table. What?!? And YAY!! There was a 2-for special on the cocktails and you could select from the full menu which featured an extravagant and eclectic selection. There were wine and beer specials too but we were here for the cocktails. From the happy hour menu, we ordered the vegan spring rolls, chicken wings, and the Bo Ne Steak--a Vietnamese breakfast with bone marrow, cubed steak, sunny side eggs and a baguette. I can vouch for the spring rolls, light and crunchy without being oily. I don't eat land animals but my friend said the wings were divine. And they give you gloves to eat them. So civilized (ha) and a nice touch! She loved the bone marrow and steak. There was so much food she didn't finish it so I took it home to the hubby who devoured it. No complaints and only smiles from him! I wanted to try a couple pescatarian dishes from the regular menu so ordered the lemongrass clams which was AH-mazing! Could have been my favorite dish of the night because the flavors were unexpected but undeniably good. And, the garlic salmon bun (vermicelli noodles) was fantastic. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was savory yet light. I've never seen this option at any other Vietnamese restaurant and it certainly elevates the traditional dish which usually comes with meat, tofu, or spring rolls. (You can still order the bun with these options and they let you choose your protein combos.) Finally, (I told you there was a lot of food) we ordered the banana blossom salad. I rarely see this offering at other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe but I refer to this dish as the red-carpet version of the green papaya salad. It's more dressed up and sophisticated. A real treat and a must-have if you're dining at An Di Dzo. Parking was easy since it's at Ward (by the theaters or you can park anywhere in the village). The restaurant is clean and modern. And the service was courteous and professional. Our server Alex was great and made the evening extra special. An Di Dzo is open for lunch and dinner. They also offer some vegan options so I'll be back. Hubby enjoyed the leftovers so much he wants to give it a dine-in try. You don't have to ask me twice! Popped in to An Di Dzo randomly while walking around Ward on a random Wednesday night! The place was more than half full but we were able to be seated right away. They have very trendy seating styles. We were seated in a wooden booth. The booth chairs were so far away from the table, there was no way you'd be able to eat without sitting on the edge of the bench haha. But very spacious for 4 people! The waitress was prompt with bringing our water, taking our order and bringing our food out. They have a little lazy-Susan style sauce/condiment platter on each table which was nice for the pho. The food was actually very tasty! I enjoyed everything I ate. Which kind of shocked me, being that town is more of a touristy area and I wasn't expecting to get decent pho! Since they're located in the same building as ward theaters, there's an entire parking structure for you to park in, for free! So don't worry about parking. Located in Ward near Okayama Kobo, An Di Dzo is a small-ish sized Vietnamese restaurant. There is a parking structure in the building, which makes it convenient to park and head to the restaurant. The place itself is nice and has a more modern, barren, and clean feel to it. There are tables and booths to sit at inside. There are also a few tables outside. The people working were nice and prompt with everything. We ordered a few different dishes. I ordered the chicken pho, which was light and filling. The broth was tasty and there was a decent amount of chicken in the pho. We also got a chicken rice plate and the Vietnamese beef stew. The rice plate was flavorful and presented in a sort-of deconstructed way. The beef stew lighter than we are used to but still had strong flavor. I've dined here a couple times and it's good! It's a little concerning that the restaurant space next door continues to have trouble staying open, so props to an di dzo for being able to remain open. The interior is kind of small. It used to be a Panda Express, so there is the kitchen area, a small bar and about 10 small tables. They take advantage of the area right outside and set up a few more tables which is nice. It's not much of a view, but I like the open air concept and the interior is nice. The food menu is pretty extensive. They have the typical offerings: pho, banh mi sandwiches, rice and noodle plates. I like that they offer the beef rib pho and they even have side orders of bone marrow available. I also like that they have small bowls of pho and that it's pretty affordable. The pho is what I come back here for. The broth is flavorful and the veggies are fresh. It was kind of slow on a Friday for lunch, but the guy taking orders was nice and attentive. My food came out quickly and my water was refilled regularly. All in all, great service! There's nothing bad to say about this place. It's a nice place to go if you're going to the movies nearby or even after the beach nearby. I sometimes forget it's here but there is lots of parking. Delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere. Was shopping in the area and wanted something refreshing for lunch and a quick yelp search revealed An Di Dzo just around the corner. So glad to have stumbled upon this gem. We order a side of beef Pho broth ($5), 3 imperial rolls ($12), 2 tofu summer rolls ($10.95), and a lemongrass tofu vermicelli bowl ($17.35). Everything was just perfect. Broth was one of the best I've had, well spiced but not too intense or salty. The imperial rolls were my favoured type of fried spring roll: the rice paper wrapper has an unbeatable crispness to it. Summer rolls were packed with flavourful tofu and plenty of herbs which I appreciate. Also very generous with the peanuts in the sauce. And the vermicelli bowl...this was gigantic. Easily double the size of what most Vietnamese places serve. This didn't hurt the quality tho: well cooked fragrant chicken, abundance of fresh herbs and salad, with a great dressing. Both the bone marrow infused pho and the regular pho with lean brisket and eye round were great! The bone marrow broth was noticeably smoother and more buttery, but I preferred the regular pho for its cleaner, lighter finish. The spring rolls tasted very fresh, though the portions were on the smaller side. Unfortunately, we ended up sending back the fried egg rolls. They were extremely skinny and slightly burnt. It was more like an egg stick than an egg roll. I don't mind extra crisp but the portion size for the price was hard to justify. Service is ultimately what cost this place a star. First time here and it was great! The ambiance is pretty casual, the service was on point, and the food was really good! Definitely a little different from the usual pho places that I've eaten at before but in a good way. They have all the condiments, and their house made chili oil was not as spicy as it looks! I don't remember paying more for vietnamese ice coffee with condensed milk than for vietnamese coffee. Before it always came with condensed milk. Had to ask 3 times for lemon for water. My friend had the rice bowl and I tried a piece of her chicken. It was too salty. She did not even eat what she ordered. So sad. Service was still slow even after 2 tables finished. My friend said she went to their Chinatown location many times and was disappointed in what she had at this new location. Tables were dirty when we arrived and were not cleared for a while. We did have a nice time catching up but the portable credit card machine failed to provide receipts. The waiter had to reprint at another register. My friend and I ended up at An Di Dzo on a whim after a post-workout dinner search, and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our meal. It was a weekday evening and fairly quiet, which gave us the perfect chance to relax and unwind. When we first walked in, we were told to sit wherever we liked, though we did notice that a few tables still had dishes left over from earlier guests. That said, it was clear the restaurant was running with a lean front-of-house staff, and our server - the only one working the floor - did a great job handling everything on his own. He was incredibly helpful, offering thoughtful recommendations and taking the time to explain the dishes and drinks in detail. For drinks, I ordered the Smokey Cu Long Tea with mezcal and coconut milk, and it was absolutely delicious. It had a perfect balance of sweetness with a light smokiness from the mezcal, rounded out by the creamy richness of the coconut milk. My friend's drink (though I can't recall the name) reminded us of shave ice in the best way - light, refreshing, and full of flavor. We started with two appetizers: the Wagyu Tapas and the Pork & Shrimp Crepe (we added extra veggies to the crepe). Both were excellent, but the crepe easily stole the show. It was super crispy, packed with flavor, and incredibly easy to share - the added veggies really rounded it out and made it feel fresh and hearty. The tapas were also delicious, but the portion felt a bit small with only three pieces. For our main, we shared the Bone Marrow with Steak and Eggs, and wow - this dish blew us away. I've had bone marrow at other places before, but this was hands down the best I've ever tasted. The texture was firmer than usual, which worked beautifully, and the flavor was rich without being overwhelming. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned with a sweet-savory glaze that complemented everything on the plate. The sunny side-up eggs and toasted bread were perfect for soaking up every last bit of sauce. Overall, our experience at An Di Dzo was unexpectedly fantastic - especially considering it was a spontaneous stop on a quiet night. The quality of the food, the creativity in the drinks, and the attentiveness of the service made it a memorable dinner. We're already planning to come back on a weekend to try more of the dishes we had to pass up this time. This was my first time dining at An Di Dzo, so I was actually surprised this place existed here. It was a cute corner place near the bakery at Wards. We were seated right away. It wasn't busy, however, we noticed it was a one man show where only had one waiter taking orders. The waiter was great! He was friendly and didn't mind explaining the different types of dishes they had to offer. We ordered two appetizers and then our own pho bowls. The pancake dish was really good, not floury, and very light in flavor. The clams were full of flavor and even if we ordered mild, my sister in law said it still had a kick in spice, which I actually liked. The pho was food for the soul. On Valentine's Day, my husband and I were looking for the best place to have a delicious dinner. We tried Istanbul, but the line was too long. Merriman's was also packed. So, we decided to walk around the building by the movie theater. As we reached the front, before the movie entrance, we spotted an amazing place. It wasn't crowded, and the atmosphere looked very calm, with raw cement, wood, and a beautiful bar area. Peeking at the food through the window, we were surprised by how delicious it looked and how reasonable the prices were for such a nice place in the Ward area. We took a chance and went inside, and let me tell you, it was some of the best pho we've had in a while! My husband ordered the Beef Marrow, and I got the chicken pho mini because I wasn't very hungry. Surprisingly, even the mini size was quite generous. We also ordered the wagyu and spring rolls, which were perfectly presented--already cut and served with mint leaves, which we usually have to tear ourselves at other restaurants. This place is so nice; it reminds us of a Mediterranean-style interior--simple yet classy--with a relaxing music selection. We were very surprised that it wasn't more crowded; you'd expect a line of people waiting outside! It's definitely one of our favorite spots now, and we will be back again! I came here for an after work early dinner. There were 4 of us total, and the host/server/bartender--yes, he did it all--gave us the option to pick a table. We ended up sitting in the back to be able to see our friends who were running late and it was a comfortable table. I must say that the server we had was new to the restaurant but he was EXCELLENT. He was so efficient, especially even when the place got full and he was the only person running food and taking orders. He honestly was so impressive!! Anyway, the food was wonderful and they were able to cater to the needs of our table--mostly catering to the vegan we had. She mistakenly ordered a sauce that wasn't vegan but our server remembered that she said she wanted vegan options (but she never explicitly said she was vegan) and he gave her the vegan option without missing a beat!! Not worth the extra surcharges on every dish. Service was not the worst but not pleasant. The window walls were filthy and I did not enjoy the ambiance. It was not busy so we definitely should have had better service. The Vietnamese pancake was soggy and the combination pho was mediocre at best. I give this place two stars only because the Banana Blossom Salad was delicious but that's it. You can get way better pho at any other place on the island. Save yourself the hyped up trip as this is another one of those "viral" glorified and overhyped places. There was no beef in my pho! I wouldn't normally continue going back and forth but I feel the need to clarify after your response especially since it misrepresents what i said. Also my husband only continued eating the broth because he was so hungry. There was no actual beef in my pho and barely any in his. I don't mind some fat or tendon but my bowl was clearly not prepared correctly. I even showed the uneaten bowl to the manager at the time. The manager did offer to switch it to steak but by then our kids were already finished eating so staying longer wasn't an option for me. I took the time to explain everything to both the waiter and the manager yet my concern still wasn't properly addressed. What I don't understand is why I was still charged full price for a meals we couldn't eat. The entire experience was disappointing which is why I left a review--to help other customers avoid a similar situation. Offering store credit for a future visit doesn't resolve the issue for me. Tried this place for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! They have some unique dishes on the menu like giant and tender beef rib pho, steamed rice cakes, oxtail pho and you can add bone marrow to just about anything. They have a banana blossom salad that you can't find a lot of other places. Taste was a bit basic compared to the dive-ier places in Chinatown but this spot has plenty of parking, copious AC, it's very clean and service is stellar. I think those things more than compensate for the battle of the zombies in Chinatown (I still love you tho!). They have an interesting list of cocktails, mocktails and they even have hanoi style egg coffee (strong drip coffee served with 2 egg yolks whipped in condensed milk). The summer rolls were really basic, and probably my main reason for 4 stars instead of 5! They were very small and skimpy for the price. Total letdown but hubby insisted we get them. Shrugs. The banana blossom salad was awesome! Very crunchy, savory and tangy. The ingredients mixed well together and they serve it with both thin slices of pork and shrimp. The beef rib pho was yummy. The meat was tender, fall off the bone and we got 2 decent sized ribs. The pho is simply served with bean sprouts, basil and lemon. Pho broth was a bit basic, lacking the umami flavors that other spots get, most likely from cooking longer with more herbs/spices. No jalapeños or other unique veggies on the side, but the ones served were VERY clean and fresh. The crunch factor was real for the sprouts! Our server was very nice. They even have a $5 off $10 offer on Dining Advantage (t-mobile customers will often get free credits on this with the t mobile tuesdays app). My husband's fave was the stew, which for myself I found a little salty and the beef was fatty (I prefer fat removed before served, or cooked down longer). We took the banh mi home, which was a fun midnight snack. The bread wasn't super crusty, and could have done with a few more pickles inside, and perhaps some chili slices. Great food and service! Have been here so many times and gotten Uber Eats from here too and the food has been so yummy every time. My favs are the beef brisket pho, bone marrow pho and tofu summer rolls! I also get the regular pho with lean brisket and the chicken pho a lot too. They don't seem to add fish sauce to the broth, which I like since I can taste the actual flavor of the broth more. A lot of other places add it. we came on a Thursday around 2 PM. They close at 3 PM. Service was a little on the slow side but not too slow even though we were the only patrons inside. I really wanted to love this place but it was just OK. I ordered a small plain phõ which was just OK. There wasn't anything memorable about the broth. I'm assuming people go for the specialty Phõ's. The banana blossom salad is good although I would prefer a little more citrus in the dressing. The Mr. had a small chicken phõ and he said it was just OK as well. read more

Feeling so indifferent from all of the good reviews but my take on An Di Dzo tonight was not that bad nor that good. Upon entering, the restaurant gave off upscale and modern. Service was pleasant and straight. It's the flavors that gave the 3 stars. I may have to update my review once I try again but tonight I felt that both me and my partners pho were lacking umami and taste. Chili oil was weak and not spicy. We also got the Wagyu Tapas also... weak flavor. I don't know if it was just an off night? I'll have to update in the future if I do ever try again. read more

Went wandering around the Ward area because we just movies back to Oahu after being gone for 6 years... so much has changed! But one thing we knew for sure, there would be new restaurants that we need to check off of our list. We decided on An Di Dzo after skimming their menu on the front window, and I saw "Home of the Bone Marrow Pho Broth" and I had to try it. I remember my family making a bone marrow soup back home (beef kadu, from Guam) and my family would fight over who got the bone marrow! Anyhow, it did not disappoint! It was delicious and felt like comfort food. My husband got their Beef Rib Bone-in Pho and that was amazing. Added cocktails and dessert since it was a day-date without the kids. There are still a lot of restaurants to check off of our list but we're definitely coming here again. read more
