They have a unique selection of goods that you cannot find anywhere. I do a lot of poetry and visual art, and coming in here almost felt like walking into a modern museum. Every piece of jewelry, home décor or unconventional flower pots seems to have a message that reaches out to you once you catch a second glance. It's not as if you are buying home goods and decorations, but every piece in this store has a story to tell. There is that old saying " You should seek to understand, and then be understood", but at this store its almost a liaison between you and your sense of style. When you buy a piece at Chariots on Fire and place it in your house, people will see it and try understand its meaning; but ultimately they will understand you. Very few stores have had the ability to do this with the merchandise they carry. Chariots on Fire is truly one of the best hidden gems on Abbot Kinney in Venice!

That location has temporarily closed down their piercing studio and the only one with a piercing professional was this Venice location. They have a post-piercing follow-up service to change out the post to a shorter one 6-8 weeks after you had your piercing. Parking - OMG. Impossible as it's street parking. Give yourself 30-40 mins minimum to find a spot!! Store - it's located at the edge of the main Abbott Kinney rows of stores. Clean, bright, lots of employees helping customers. It's Valentine's Day so it's busy busy! Piercing Studio - Marley was FANTASTIC! I was late to my appt by an hour - traffic horrific & parking horrendous. However, Marley gave up her lunch break to accommodate me. She explained clearly what she was going to do at this follow-up. It was to replace the flat back to a shorter one since it's healing well. It took less than 3 mins & no pain or tugging. Marley told me The Americana location is hiring a new piercing professional & Piercing Studio will reopen ver soon! Overall, I would recommend any Mejuri location as customer service is top notch! Their jewelry is modern & has clean, crisp look to them. My best friend lives in Venice and often walks down Abbott Kinney Boulevard and mentioned seeing a pop-up for permanent jewelry almost every week. We were lucky enough to find Diana's shop set up outside at 6:30 PM when many other shops were already closing. She mentioned this is becoming a permanent storefront soon and that she plans to still utilize the outdoor space to attract foot traffic and set up outside as well. She was such a gem - clearly, very knowledgeable about her craft, and so friendly. There were five times the number of chain options than any other place I've ever seen do permanent jewelry, with reasonable prices ranging from about $50-$90 for a bracelet, depending on the thickness and quality you choose. She even gave us 10% off because we got three. We loved talking to her, she's a local and has so much personality and is such a sweetheart. I love to support small businesses and highly recommend Devada for all your permanent jewelry needs!

I was greeted by the owner Steven Jackson and he was cordial and showed me that gorgeous ring and other fabulous jewelry I Love Love Love. Jewelry for men, women and whatever your inclination, diamonds, platinum, gold, gems and peals...oooh la la. I was dazzled with the unique collections and was shocked to learn the prices were so much less $$$$ than the jewelry shops in Beverly Hills (Mikimoto, Cartier, Van Clefs, Tiffany, DeBeers) to name a few. Mr Jackson was knowledgeable about diamonds and pearls and gave me some pointers on what would be complimentary on my hand...he said, based on the degree of measurement/distance from certain fingers and joints, 'a large diamond/pearl, on a large setting would look fabulous on me,' Ha! He is a very smart man ;) as I prefer double digit karats ;)

Recently, on my second visit to Curated LA, I brought my antique wedding ring in to have it resized. It is a Victorian era ring (very old but well maintained). They said it would be ready in a few days. The next week I reached out to see if it was ready and they said that the prongs needed to be secured, which would cost an additional amount. I agreed and they said they were working on it that day. 3 days later I checked in to see if it was ready for pick up. She said they were still working on it and she'd contact me the following week. The following week she said they were still working on it. It was finally ready 2 weeks after I'd originally brought it in. She said it looked like new. When I picked it up we were heading out of town to evacuate the Palisades fire so I was in a rush, but quickly thereafter noticed the prongs looked misshapen and it was snagging on things. I was planning on bringing it back in when we got back to town. Before I had the chance to a small diamond fell out. I messaged Curated LA that a stone had fallen out and I was very upset - they had just adjusted the prongs (which I hadn't even brought the ring in for). I was told to bring the ring in to have them look at it. No apology. Also no apology for the delay on getting it back to me in the first place. When I voiced frustration she said that they do so many repairs each week she can't keep track, my ring wasn't in good condition, and that stones fall out all of the time - from new rings and vintage ones alike. Regardless, I am not bringing my ring back to Curated LA. It is not about the money (the repairs didn't cost much). They never offered to refund it or to replace the missing stone. I'm bringing it to a jeweler that has a workshop in house and does it themselves rather than outsourcing it. Don't trust your valued jewelry for repairs with this shop.
