This store is wonderful. It's shows statehood pride and gives us tourists terrific gifts to take home. I love Oregon. It's such a beautiful state. We found a puzzle. Some jam. A few magnets for friends. I brought home handmade handpainted rocks from a local artist for my friends. They loved them! Mine is sitting here in my home office. There are nine locations of Made In Oregon stores. So far, I have visited six of them. This one is located inside the Washington Square mall close to Macy's. It is not as large as some of the other locations but it still manages to have all the usual merchandise found at Made In Oregon stores. This store sells wine, clothing, jewelry, food, arts and crafts, cards and more. The main reason I like to visit Made In Oregon stores is to shop for earrings. They have some beautiful creations here. I particularly like the sterling silver ones with various natural stones like green jasper. The three employees working here during my most recent visit were all friendly and helpful. One lady interrupted the project she was working on in order to point out to me which earrings were sterling silver, since the card isn't always marked. She was very pleasant and helpful. I bought three new pair of earrings here today and left the store very happy. I highly recommend everyone visit this Made In Oregon store. read more

I've only been to this store a couple of times. I've never been terribly impressed, but always enjoy stopping in ever since the Eugene location left the mall. Sadly, I've never been impressed. I stopped in earlier in the week when I was at the mall with my buddy, Matt. We went in and it was pretty busy. We were not greeted by any employees, which was disappointing. I hate passing by multiple employees working and they don't even acknowledge your existence, but yet expect you to buy things. No, I'm not paying your salary to be an asshole and ignore me. Sorry, it doesn't work that way for me. One thing that Matt noticed when we were in here, which I've heard about before, is the fact not everything is made in Oregon anymore. The name has become a lie. He found things that were made in China and pointed them out. I find that disappointing and sad, because there are many people who go in there with the idea they are supporting a business that stays local and true to the community. Not so much. They've become every other typical corporation by outsourcing their products and still going off the Made In Oregon name. The store itself is fairly well organized with a good amount of products and selection. There is no issue there. I do think some of their prices are a bit high, especially knowing the products aren't always made in Oregon, so I highly recommend paying attention to that, as you can likely find the same thing cheaper somewhere else. Its hard for me to give less than four stars no matter how there is absolutely no one even spotted to help me or ring me up should I buy something. I say that because everything they offer is so great and really does reflect on the NW. I have filled many a difficult present for a friend or family member here and its always where I try t send people looking for local wares and such. They have such a diverse amount of interesting products that even as a native I find something all the time here. Name says it all. This store is located inside the Washington Square Mall. Bought a couple of beers at a fair price. Found out later that it would have costed us more at Harry and David. One of the staff was very helpful. The other staff member who helped us was just okay. They have a variety of everything here. Many unique items which are difficult to find elsewhere. So, you are sure to find something you like or want to give as a gift. Prices seem reasonable as well. If we're ever in the neighborhood again, we'd return here. This is a great shop, Everything is made in Oregon. So if you are into buying local or buying a gift for someone who wants a reminder of here, then this is a good place to come. They have all kinds of merchandise. Lots of food, some cloths, souvenirs, nicknacks... all kinds of stuff. They have been around for years, and have acumulated a great assortment. This is a great place to get gifts for people you will see when you travel. Whether you're looking for a hostess gift to bring when you go to dinner or for souvenir gifts, Made in Oregon has it. Their selection is incredible - can you believe almost* all this stuff is from this one state?! You're greeted at the entrance by a display of different chocolates, candies and cookies by local companies big and small. Near by are featured seasonal displays of jewelry, soaps, candles, ornaments, etc. Shelves along the wall from floor to ceiling are filled with jams, jellies, sauces and spreads. The edible section is bursting with fish, nuts, dried fruits and jerky from all over the state. The section of wine is filled with bottles at almost every price point. Nearer the rear of the store they have works in wood, metal and textiles from local artisans. Pendleton has a whole section all it's own, too. I hope I haven't left anything out! We've been shopping at Made in Oregon stores for 8 years for omiyage for people all over the country. I think we could shop here another 80 without ever buying the same gifts twice! Most recently we went here with my visiting sister and brother-in-law. They got wine, salmon, cookies and handmade pottery to take back to the east coast for friends. (Plus a bottle of wine to enjoy on the last night they stayed with us.) They enjoyed the wine tasting that was going on and were particularly impressed with the service they received. My sister said she was told twice about the wine tasting (good thing) and the counter staff wrapped all their gifts so they'd be safe for travel. I've always had great service here. Whether we needed things packed for travel or not, everything seems to be handled with care. They aren't skimping with shopping bags either - I've noticed some mall stores aren't so generous when bagging your purchases. The staff will help you put together boxes or baskets of your favorite edible and collectible made in Oregon items for a one-of-a-kind gift. Or, you can pick any of their prepacked gift boxes to send or carry with you. They're great over the phone, too. They put a box of Moonstruck truffles shaped like Beavers on hold for me to pick up with no fuss! A little secret: you can get discounted Moonstruck chocolates here immediately following any holiday or after a change in seasons. We recently got a bag of leaf-shaped mint tingles here for $5 instead of $10. (^.^) *Shhh, don't tell, but the water crackers next to the salmon aren't local! read more

For tourist or people taking gifts elsewhere in the country, Made in Oregon rocks. We always go here to get any number of their different selection of in state jams and jelly's. My mom loves marionberry jam and here they have no end to the different products made from those berries. My aunt loves the scone mix. Me, I like to try and find the Eugene based Euphoria Chocolates. They have plenty of other stuff like wines, soaps, trinkets, and clothing to name a few. Anyway, it's an excellent place to purchase gifts when visiting Oregon. read more

This store needs help. Went in here again this past Christmas and the greeter yawned in my face. I would have LOVED to have sent a nice gift basket to relatives over the holiday, but it was so crowded, unorganized and complicated, so I opted to go to Cost Plus and make my own gift basket. As expected, there is a lot of Oregonesque merchandise which could make some cool gifts or souvenirs. Some things are a bit pricey and while not everything is 'useful', it has some cool things to use as decor or simply help you rep the Beaver State! My all time favorite place to get gifts especially for out of town guests. The staff are always very freindly and knowledgeable, ( a rare combination in retail). I got a great OSU sweatshirt for my son that was a perfect size and 40% off today. The place to get a quick drink while in the mall: Viso, high on flavor and vitamins and without the sugar rush of pop. And bacon bars. Where else in the mall can you get high quality locally handcrafted items? The majority of everything at the mall is mass produced, so this is a real treat to also support local. I've always enjoyed going into this store and buying Christmas presents every year. I was just in a couple of days ago and was not given the level of customer service that I am accustomed to. She was trying to decide on which color she wanted, before an older lady with short blonde hair who works there, rudely came up to us extremely concerned that we were messing up the organization of the bottles rather than asking if we were finding what we needed. This is one of the few stores at the mall that I will shop (during the handful of visits I make to the mall in a calendar year). Sometimes one needs to plan strategically though. Occasionally they will have an amazing warehouse sale online. You can order the items over the phone M-F with a real customer service representative and do store pick up to save on shipping. Store pick up is free. For example, I bought several bottles of Honeywood's "Holiday Cheer" wine for only $1.99 in January. You can't find wine anywhere cheaper than that. I have found other food items on sale like rogue creamery cheese for 70% off. These deals are fantastic. In store I have bought a Portland skyline mug, Oregon artistry prints, cards, postcards, Oregon ornaments, and myrtlewood perfume bottles. They also sell Pacifica products. I would say about 85% of the store is local products. I have also bought Oregon rain soap, and other local lavender lotions here. If I need to get holiday presents: this is a place I can rely on. The store has moved a few times, and when they get busy the store feels a bit crammed. Otherwise, this place is a gem. One of my favorite places to shop. read more

I stopped in today at Made In Oregon. I won't be setting foot in any of their stores again unless they make some serious changes. They were selling MADE IN CHINA items in this store: ball caps, t-shirts, even a Baggallini bag - WTF?! The hats and t-shirts at least had an Oregon-related logo. But a Baggallini bag? How does that say "Oregon" exactly? I was outraged but when I Googled it, I found that this is not new information. KATU and NPR did a stories on it last year and Willamette Week in 2006! I think it makes me feel worse that they are still doing it. There ARE American manufacturers of clothing - right now I'm wearing t-shirt, jeans, socks and underclothes all made in the US. This company comes across as trying to represent Oregon. If they can't do that, the least they could do is support the US. read more

They also really value hiring a diverse workforce, including hiring people with disabilities. I needed a locally made gift for a relative and found a good selection of merchandise about Oregon. Unfortunately most of the items were made in China or Manufactured in Mexico for an Oregon Company. Another unfortunate aspect is the gift will be shipped over seas and the shipping of many of the products in bottles and jars would have been too high. Good selection of shirts and caps made in China made choosing a gift easy but not made in Oregon, sad. read more

We like looking at the gemstone jewelry when we are here. This last time that we were here though, we saw something that we didn't like. One of the workers was restocking the shelf, but how he was restocking was by going over to the box and taking food products out and then brought them over to the shelves that he was going to restock and he put the food products on the FLOOR while putting them one by one on the shelf. Not very good service. We came in there to make a wine and gift basket lurches we scoped out online. We asked for some specific wineries that were listed online and when we inquired we were met with a dismissive, non eye contact answer of 'that is all the wine we have.' Not satisfied with that answer we asked about not seeing the gift baskets we seen online and then we got a few curt, 'the website is diffent than the store' and still did not make any attempt to help is any further. I mean we were asking a couple of key questions and laying down enough clues that we were there to spend some serious money on some gifts to ship. Definitely way over a hundred to two hundred dollars and not just getting a hat or something. Definitely need some management involvement with teaching selling and customer service skills to be more profitable, drive sales and retain customers. We left and will not shop there again. William Sonoma, Trader Joes, New Seasons and New World Market will have all the items we want to build these gift baskets with. Talk about disappointing. read more
