Beyond satisfied with the outcome of our project! Jesús and his team went beyond my expectations in prepping and refinishing our hardwood floors. Let me start off by saying that as a female customer, not once, did I feel like I was being taken advantage of! Before, I hired Jesús, I had received several quotes. One contractor even purposely damaged my floors and claimed to be unsalvageable. All these contactors saw a female who owns an apartment complex therefore must have money and no knowledge of the process. We had given up hope in restoring the floors, and my mother (82 years) who had owned these apartment units since 1976 was devastated! I decided to do one more call. I called Jesús, shared the pictures that were taken and asked him to look at the floors. He calls me and tells me "Don't worry. They are salvageable." He gave me a quote that was feasible and not an overcharged quote like all the other inexperienced so-called wood experts! He had the project done in 2 days, he initially said 4 days. I'm posting this here not out of vengeance, but because I don't want someone else to go through what I went through and risk losing money. I received a quote from madeira flooring, along with a few other quotes, and madeira flooring was a better price and seemed like a good company based off their reviews. Jesus, the main contact, gave me the start date, I paid the deposit, and all was good. I'd never had my floors redone so I didn't really know what to expect. The first day, Jesus showed up and I paid the first day deposit. He said I would need to choose a few colors for them to layout on my floor and gave me a swatch with many colors. I told him I wouldn't be available all day so I'd let him know later that night. I said I wanted to go with a lighter color because I didn't want my floors to be too dark. Jesus suggested I have my floors bleached because there were dark spots and he said bleaching would likely get rid of them so I could choose a lighter color. I knew nothing about getting floors redone so I took his advice and said I'd bleach the floors for an additional cost and went with a lighter color. Once the floors were done I went to see the floors and told Jesus I was immediately concerned with many spots throughout the house. I could see where there were what appeared to be bleach droplets (see photos), but Jesus informed me those were likely from the previous owner and redoing the floors and going with a lighter color made them visible. I told him it looked like there were wipe marks throughout the rooms that appeared to be areas where the color wasn't properly applied (see photos) and Jesus said that was just how the floor looked and again said I should have gone with a darker color. There were also areas of obvious discoloration where it went from really light to dark and again Jesus said I should have gone with a darker color. I told Jesus that I did not believe his team did a good job and he was adamant that this was the best they could do with the condition of the floors. We agreed that I would not pay the rest of the amount and would get other opinions because I knew that the floors shouldn't look like they did with obvious wipe marks and droplet marks in various areas. I received three quotes from other flooring companies that said bleaching the floors was not necessary in the first place and the floors needed to be sanded more. When I told Jesus this he said that the floors couldn't be sanded anymore, but the person from his company that actually worked on my floors said it could go one more layer down. We agreed that I was going to have someone else redo the floors because Jesus said his team did the best they could, but I did not believe the floors were done correctly. I told Jesus that if the new company didn't make the floors any better, I would pay him the rest of the money, but if they did a better job I wouldn't because that is unfair to me and he agreed. Again, I paid for a new flooring company out of pocket to redo my floors. They went with a lighter color like I requested and did a phenomenal job and there are no visible wipe marks, dark spots, or droplets anywhere to be seen. When I showed Jesus my new floors in person he still did not take any responsibility and said that he didn't see how they were any better. I showed him before pictures of the floor his team did and after photos of the new floors. I asked for a refund because I was not happy with the job his team did and could visibly see errors that his team made and that the floors were much better now with the new company. He said he would talk to his team and get back to me. I've given Jesus over a month to speak with his team and have called and text multiple times with no response. I've now paid almost double for my floors because Jesus will not refund my money even though his team made many mistakes on the floors. While I agree that he made the floors look better than what they used to, which wouldn't take much with the state they were in, I don't agree that the floors he did were done correctly because of the obvious wipe marks and inconsistencies. read more

I would give this business ZERO stars if I could due to their lack of professionalism and being unresponsive after they promised to take responsibility for a major mistake they made to a clients' hardwood floors from a 1950 home. I work for a contractor and the clients found this business on Yelp. Our normal flooring recommendation was not available due to having multiple projects at hand so I suggested they use this platform to look for floor refinishers. They found this company and hired them after meeting with the owner, Jesus. To our surprise, when we walked in to check up on the floors after they were supposedly done, we found numerous mistakes and had to red flag them for the clients to reach out to the business owner with our concerns. I was asked to meet with them at the job site so I could show them what was wrong. Jesus and his employee, Walter, showed up and met with us as planned even though they were late. We did a walk thru and I began to point out bleach spots on the floors, striped looking marks all over the rooms from corner to corner, and explained how the color wasn't the correct one after looking at the flooring finish the clients had chosen. Jesus was not professional and blamed the past homeowners indicating that the bleach marks were spilled acetone and the stripes all over the rooms were not their doing. I asked who actually did the work and Walter said he was the one and admitted that the floors could use some improvement. After an hour of arguing because they did not want to refund the clients' money, we agreed to bring in a couple of flooring companies to assess the work that Jesus claimed was done correctly. He agreed to refund the deposit if we could prove that the floors were not refinished properly. I took 2 more companies over to the site and BOTH agreed that the work was poor and could easily look better if the floors were sanded more. I sent the clients the reports received from the other businesses and they reached out to Jesus one more time. Again, Jesus had promised to refund their deposit IF proof was provided yet he never complied. He dismissed all our calls and kept the money the clients had paid when they signed their contract. Be warned. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you don't want to get ripped off and are left having to hire another company to redo your floors correctly. The second company that was hired went in and fixed all of the mistakes Jesus' team created and left the original hardwood floors looking like new again. After multiple attempts texting, calling and leaving voicemails, Jesus never kept his word and would not take our calls even though we witnessed what he promised his customers. CONCLUSION: BE CAREFUL WITH THIS INEFFICIENT BUSINESS WHO DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR WORK AND LIES ABOUT HOW THEY ARE SO CALLED PROFESSIONAL!!! You have been warned. read more

This review is long overdue as we are extremely happy with our floors and highly recommend Jesus and his team. Jesus was easy to work with, honest, and most of all cared about his work and customer satisfaction. We redid the flooring throughout our house with white Oak hardwood as it had several different floors from over the years and Jesus and team delivered on all accounts. We wanted to preserve the original baseboards and match the framed hearth and they did so very well. He provided regular picture updates and videos along the way to make sure we were happy each step of the way. They did an AMAZING job throughout but I was especially pleased with how they tackled some odd requests like leveling out a hallway addition and nailing the transition and even making a custom crawlspace hatch with hardware I provided. They worked fast but were very clean and never too fast to care about their work and it showed. We love our floors to this day and we had this work done last fall in September 2022. Absolutely beautiful work. He has been my favorite contractor to work with from all time with his attitude and attention to detail and that goes for his whole team of guys. Very thankful we went with Madeira flooring. He went above and beyond and came right back to fix something that popped up after install and made sure we were happy. These two guys were great! Super honest and quick to answer my concerns. I'd definitely hire them again! I found the original hardwood floors of my 1916 craftsman. I called a few company's for estimates and most wanted to sell me new laminate flooring. They were the most reliable and worked fast and worked in accomplishing what I needed. They were able to refinish most of my hardwood floor and installed new floor where the original was impossible to save. I don't think I could have asked for a better experience. This business is the real deal. Our family had to do a quick military move and the movers left a water line running after picking up our fridge while we were away at work. We Came home to the entire kitchen flooded and the floors completely damaged. We were less than a week out from closing on the house and had to report to our new duty station asap and had now had the burden of finding someone to do the floor within 4 days. Thank the lord that Madeira flooring was able to respond quickly, pick up the flooring, and complete the work quickly with no issues. It was like the damage never happened. I just bought a house YAY! But it had wall to wall old carpeting BOO! I reached out to several flooring companies and came across Madeira Flooring. They only had 13 reviews but the minute I met Jesus, we just jived and I was digging his energy. He answered all my questions, explained his process, and provided a fair and competitive quote. The hardwood under the carpet was decent but several areas needed repairs, like the hole where the old floor furnace used to be. Their repair work was impeccable. They showed me different stain options right on the floor so I could easily choose. There estimate of price and how many days it would take was spot on. Inherent with all its age-related problems and years of wear and tear, we finally opted to have our hardwood floors refinished in our 110-year old house.
