I received a text the day before my appointment that asked if I had any recent symptoms consistent with coronavirus/if anyone in my household had symptoms. Additionally I was provided with instructions on the salon protocol. On calling the salon, I was instructed that I could enter, I was asked to sanitize my hands, and had my temperature checked. The salon is using disposable gowns and is limiting hairdrying inside the salon, therefore you're asked to show up having washed your own hair. The appointment was quick and everyone wore masks/maintained social distancing inside. The haircut is wonderful (only $65, cheaper than what I've paid for comparable haircuts in the past) and I could not have felt more comfortable with the experience. The location has plenty of parking in the parking lot behind the salon. Excuse the appearance of the area near the salon as there was a fire in a restaurant next door. I highly recommend this salon, they are going above and beyond to make sure their clients are safe.

Four Years of Hair Growth Lost -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more This was my third visit to Kaie Salon, and unfortunately it will be my last. I want to give full context because I genuinely tried to trust this salon and even recommended it to friends. I am an Asian male with slightly below-shoulder-length hair. I had been growing my hair out for four years from a buzz cut and was looking for a layered cut with a Korean perm. I've had bad chemical perm experiences in the past that left my hair dry and brittle, which is why I was willing to drive 2.5 hours to find a stylist I could begin to build a relationship with. On my first visit, Kai advised me that my front layers weren't long enough yet and recommended waiting a few months before doing a Korean perm. I respected that advice and only got a haircut for a wedding. The haircut itself was very minimal, but I wasn't bothered because he seemed knowledgeable. On my second visit, I returned specifically for a Korean perm because my roots had grown out flat while the rest of my hair was still wavy from a previous perm. My goal was to have one consistent texture throughout and add some layering so that it sits on my face well and I don't look like Jesus. After the service, I honestly looked almost the same as when I walked in. Since this was my first Korean perm, I assumed maybe my hair length or weight affected the result and gave it the benefit of the doubt and decided to return for my 3rd and last time. On my third visit, I made it very clear that I wanted a shorter haircut while keeping my length, along with a Korean perm. I scheduled and placed a deposit for a Korean perm, but at no point during the service was I told that I was instead receiving a chemical perm. That alone is unacceptable but when I noticed the rods were not connected to the heating thing, it was too late. What made things worse was the haircut. I ended up with a mullet-style cut, which was not the inspiration photo I showed. While that wasn't ideal, I could have lived with it--until I washed my hair a few days later. That's when I realized how bad the cut truly was. The left and right sides were completely uneven, with random short and long sections that made no sense structurally. It honestly felt like the work of someone still in training. I was devastated. I had a New Year's Eve event that same night and ended up wearing a hat because I was so embarrassed. Over the next few days, feedback from friends, family, and coworkers confirmed what I already knew. The haircut was not salvageable. I ultimately had to go back to an undercut with a bald fade, losing nearly all of the hair I spent four years growing. This was never my intention, and now it will take a long time to grow my hair back again. To add to this, another friend of mine also got a haircut here and did not walk out with the style he asked for either. I'm extremely disappointed. I tried multiple times to trust this salon, traveled a long distance, and gave them the benefit of the doubt--but the final result was unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this salon, especially if you care deeply about your hair or are seeking a specialized service like a Korean perm.

I was coming here weekly for three and a half months now for blowouts, due to a shoulder injury and difficult to straighten hair. I also had my hair colored three times. I saw Jenn H mostly, but also CeCi Jones a few times when Jenn was out. Well, one day, 8/15/26 at my 3 pm (owner - check your cameras as I see you did in another review you replied to), CeCi was blow-drying my hair, and suddenly I smelled hair burning. So did the manager Lysa, the other stylist Katherine, and the blonde receptionist. They all mentioned it and started walking around looking to find the source of the smell. I was literally the ONLY client in that room. I told them several times that it was coming from me, but CeCi kept denying it. So instead of coming to check my hair, they let it go. Very nice. I couldn't deal with the confrontation as I'm not well, and went home. It seemed fine. I came back the following Saturday for a blowout with Jenn. She didn't mention anything was wrong with my hair, yet when I went home, the hair at my temple was completely burned off. So CeCi started the job, weakend my hair and Jenn finished it off, as Michelle the manager explained and as did a stylist I spoke to from another salon. I came back another time and spoke with Michelle, the other manager. She was super nice and apologetic, and went to speak to both stylists, who of course lied to her face and denied everything. Absolutely shocking. Well Michelle offered to do a free color and blowout with a bonding treatment, as well as another free blowout. I agreed. It was with Jenn unfortunately. Jenn continued to burn more of my hair off at my temples and all around my face on both occasions. And to top it all off, she missed a bunch of grey hairs right at my part, and who knows where else. How do you miss bright silver hair on top of my head at my part, when my hair is so dark brown that it's almost black? It's like it was on purpose. I am so upset, I cannot believe I gave her two chances and each time, she completely ruined all my hair. I never should have tipped her. And not only that, but the products used at this salon are no name cheap garbage. My hair used to be so healthy and shiny before I came to this salon. Now my hair is dull and looks and feels terrible. Oh and of course completely burned off, and with greys not colored. Absolutely ridiculous and shocking. The amount of stress and medical problems this has caused me has been unreal. I am disabled and have been very unwell because of this. I did not deserve this. I never trash a business, but you people have really asked for it, and I don't want anyone else going through what I've had to deal with and will now continue to deal with. My hair is so weak now that I can't even have any heat on it at all. You people need to refund me for the previous appointment when CeCi burned my hair and I want all the tips back that I gave her and Jenn. I am on a fixed income, have a lot of medical bills, and you robbed me of my hair and my money, and made me literally sick. The picture I posted doesn't even show everything burned off and wasn't from today. Now there is more hair burned off but I'm not well enough to take any more. Thank you for that.

TL;DR: Lowlights rock…read more I had been to Jackie's years ago when I used to travel more frequently to the northeast. This time I had some downtime and swung by for a trim. She asked whether I want to try something different and suggested lowlights - I had never heard of the term but figured they're like highlights, just less obvious. The first and last time I had had toned down my hair (highlights, actually) was 22 years ago, but the AI photo apps had all suggested recently that I go blonde, so I thought this may be a first step in that direction. She said how long it takes depends on the individual's hair but should take no more than an hour, and I was intrigued. I can do an hour. I told her I really don't want that overbleached, orangish yellow color, and she was on the same page. We were going to aim for a light brown, but that could mean any number of things, right? It came out a copper-bronze that adds just a touch of light around my face. The color looks more obvious in certain angles depending on how my hair is tousled or parted, and I love how it shows up more prominently in the under-layers of my hair and when I put it up in a bun! This is a result of her gathering my hair, then taking some away in a zigzag before bleaching what remained in hand. I really like that she made the bleached hair blend with my natural hair. Btw, she's pretty opinionated and has a lot of comments, but knows her stuff. If you've ever been scared about toning down your hair color, give lowlights a try! It's very affordable here even with the wash and cut afterward. I was here a total of 1:30 including my wash and cut, during which three people walked in. She had to turn them away since she was doing my hair; one person came back at a time she had told him. Glad to see that it's a happening place but that she takes walk-ins like I did :D

I asked for subtle balayage there, got bright blonde highlights, and was not offered or given a refund. The owner at the other salon fixed it, but the result lasted for about 2-3 weeks... and I was left with bright blonde highlights again. A few friend recommended Haru to me. I was given an appointment with Hadley. Immediately, I LOVED her! Hadley is friendly, warm, and completely understanding about hair. As someone who is self-admittedly fussy, Hadley listened to me and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted. Since then, I've been to Hadley MANY times and she's brought me from balayage to my natural brunette, cuts from shoulder length to halfway down my back, and dealt with my particularness about my bangs. Hadley is super talented and has a wonderful, bubbly personality. I love talking to everyone at the front desk as well, and really enjoy my time there! Additionally, I brought my boyfriend to Haru for a men's cut. He was styled by Sylvie, and she was also WONDERFUL! Best haircut he's ever had :) Next up I want to try the facials!
