Horrible experience! I called for a checkup for my cherry-head tortoises as well as to get some concerning dry spots looked at. I gave them all of my information over the phone. Upon my arrival I approached their glass door, where you clearly see their front desk administrators, and called to let them know I arrived. (They don't open their door for visitors due to Covid, despite wearing a mask). I've never been to this place prior so I expected to be able to talk to the veterinarian as they examined my tortoises or at least afterwards. Nope, the woman I spoke with on phone, through this glass door, just said "okay, just leave them at the door and someone will be out to pick them up". I asked her "what happens then" she said "when they're done they'll bring them back out". She didn't explain at all what would happen during the checkup. There was no one willing to talk to me about the dry spots I scheduled the appt for. I told her no thanks, I'm not just randomly leaving my tortoises at a place I've never seen the inside of before with a "vet" that I've never met.

Months ago my rabbits both had bad respiratory infections that I initially thought were allergies since the seasons were changing and we had just cut the grass outside. It got worse every day and I got really worried about them when one of my rabbits seemed to start having trouble breathing. I couldn't get an appointment anywhere, but they were able to have me drop them off in the morning so that the vet could take a look when she gets a chance throughout the day. I'm grateful that they were able to fit my babies in and took such good care of them. They went on antibiotics and made a full recovery! From now on, this will be my normal rabbit vet! Lilo and Louie say thank you to Dr. Sanchez and all the staff

Was supposed to be a quick and simple shot today but my rabbit was returned to me with one of her nails completely ripped off (skin attached to the nail) and bleeding. Called the clinic after I got home from the appointment and they didn't offer much help and said it was common. There was drops of blood all over the white towel I used in the carrier so it would've been very hard for them not to notice the amount she was bleeding while they were handling her (including the nail that was left in there). They did not alert me that they had injured her and even if it's an accident, I would still expect to be told that something had happened. Very upset that they hid the injury and will likely not be returning if the nail doesn't grow back

    Dr. Sanchez's business card :))

I stumbled upon this veterinary clinic through a fellow Yelper, Steph. I also tried to contact other vets to see if they specialize in rabbits but I got turned down most of the time as many vets only see dogs and cats. I initially brought in my rabbit, Bunzi, for a large abscess on the side of her face. The vet technicians and doctors were really concerned after they saw Bunzi's face. They explained to me each time what they were going to do and brought her to the operating room. First, Bunzi needed her face to be shaved off so they can see underneath the abscess. Her wound was then cleaned up and sutured up for stitches. I was so scared because Bunzi had to have metal staples to her face and I felt so bad for my poor baby since I could not do much to help alleviate the pain she was going through. The vet came back and explained that they had to suture it that way so that there would be drainage of any other discharge. I was advised to feed Bunzi some critical care, TMS, and Meloxicam. My bill turned out to be a lot more expensive that I had anticipated, but I had to do whatever it took to heal my little princess. I have been to the vet several times after the visit and the vet techs and techs have been nothing but caring during this whole process. The vet techs taught me how to feed Bunzi the medication, give her shots, and even wrap her in a bunny burrito. Fast foward to 2 months later, Bunzi is almost all healed up from her abscess and she is going to be the happiest bun ever. I am so lucky to have found Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Brick to see my princess Bunzi. I am planning to bring Smores and Bunzi to see these great vets for yearly checkups! Also, Dr. Brick also specializes in turtles, birds, dogs, cats, and many other exotic animals!!

Concerns I raised about my pet's care were not met with urgency, accountability, or meaningful communication. Instead of addressing issues directly, the response felt dismissive and focused more on conflict than resolution. I also had to repeatedly request basic information and records that should have been provided without delay. Even a simple request took hours to be acknowledged, which is unacceptable when you're dealing with a living animal and trying to make responsible medical decisions. What stood out most was the lack of professionalism when concerns were raised. Instead of working toward restoring trust or clarifying what happened, the relationship was essentially discarded. That is not what clients expect when they are trusting a clinic with their pet's health and wellbeing. Every pet owner should be able to expect transparency, communication, and care that feels collaborative. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I'm sharing this so other pet owners are fully aware and can make informed decisions about where they choose to take their animals for care. We have always felt grateful for the staff and the extra mile by all of the doctors we've seen over the years. When our baby girl had to have ankle surgery and needed weekly bandage changes for about two months, she grew a fan club there so that all the techs (including ones I had never met) would come to greet her by name and get excited to see her and wrote cute little love notes on her bandages. Several years later she still has techs that get excited to come see her and say hi when she's on the schedule and it makes me so happy to know she is loved when she is there. The reason I am now writing a review is because they worked so hard to get my girl healthy again when I thought I was about to lose her forever with a new diabetes diagnosis and how seriously sick she got. They went out of their way to try and find the most reasonable priced hospital for us and when that wasn't possible, came up with a "hail mary" plan that got her the treatment she needed in a range we could afford. Again, I knew she was being loved on and in the best hands each day that I was scared having to leave her behind and so worried about when or if her condition was going to improve. Because of them, my princess is feeling much better and almost back to her spunky sassy self again and I will forever be grateful to them. Especially Dr. Herman, Dr. Julian, Regina, Courtney, and all the others up front and behind the scenes whose names I don't know but who I know care about my babies and work hard to keep them healthy.

They have a great mobile app that makes communication and appointment management very convenient. However, that changed when I requested an estimate for a dental cleaning for our 6-year-old Yorkie. The procedure was long overdue, and I understood there was a possibility that some teeth might need to be extracted. The estimate I received was approximately $4,300 before any extractions, with additional charges of around $75 per tooth if extractions were needed. Having gone through similar procedures with other pets in the past, I was honestly shocked by the cost. I started researching alternatives and came across Crossroads Animal Hospital. Their reviews were overwhelmingly positive, and since they're close to my home, I decided to give them a call. They provided a very thorough estimate that included all the same important pre-op and post-op care, but the total cost was around $750, with extractions priced at about $25 per tooth. I transferred my dog's records and was able to get an appointment within just a couple of days. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring both on the phone and in person. Most importantly, our Yorkie's dental work turned out fantastic. His teeth looked amazing afterward, only one small tooth needed to be removed, and the bad dog breath that we'd been dealing with was completely gone. Finding a veterinarian you trust can be difficult, especially after moving to a new area. While VCA offers some convenient technology, I'll gladly choose Crossroads Animal Hospital for my pets' care going forward. The entire team at Fair Oaks cares deeply about all animals and their owners. The vets are knowledgeable and patient and take time to explain things and help owners work through difficult decisions. They have supported end of life care and release for two of my pets. Dr. Lennon worked with me to help me make the best choice for my 18 year old cat when I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing for her. My primary vets are Lennon, Kian, Linnet, and Woodson. All fantastic. Claudia at the front desk is a gem. Emily the vet tech is amazing. They all are. This is one of the most compassionate teams I've ever encountered. I am a terrible patient mom, when my pets are sick I become anxious aaaand often short and frustrated. I try not to, but it happens and the team still supports me and helps me get through it. In terms of pricing, I have found it to be very reasonable. They recently modified their dental and care plan options to make treatment more affordable and manageable. Estimates are always provided prior to treatment so you know what to plan for. Discounted pricing for cash payments, and they are speedy when providing information to insurance companies. When I can afford it I absolutely buy the team coffee for vet tech day (the WHOLE team) because they deserve it. I often hear people complain about the cost of vet care. I don't think folks understand the base costs of operating an animal hospital, from paying employees a livable wage (do you want the people caring for your animals having a chip on their shoulder because they can't afford rent?), insurance for the business, equipment and materials for lab, X-Ray, surgery, etc. etc., the cost of leasing the property and more than I'll list. It's incredibly expensive. Mercy Pet Hospital does its absolute best to keep costs down. I don't trust anyone else with my fur babies. I MENTIONED THIS CLEARLY TO EVERYONE I SPOKE TO. - Initial nurse was a total sweetheart, young and full of spirit - Doctor walked in jittery and sped up like she was trying to calm down from running - Speaking to me that way was super uncomfortable & condescending. When Doctor Susana Marshall DVM asked me about all the ways i was taking preventative measures for my pup, I knew that she had not reviewed any of the information that was gathered by her nurse receptionist on top of the eight years worth of health certifications and documents i brought in correct order since 2015. Overall, it was very cute to see his name on the welcome sign coming into the vet, but I would not recommend anyone supporting what's going on at this clinic. As I said on my last phone call with Joan, if I didn't hear from the doctor by the end of day, I would be opening a claim with my bank and that is exactly what I have done. They have 45 days to respond and I'm sure they will Not because they did the wrong thing and want to rectify - but because they want to avoid a negative chargeback score people!
