We had 5 companies bid on our backyard privacy fence. Leading edge came in with the best questions,…read morethe best insights, the best attitude, and a totally reasonable price. They just finished yesterday and my family is loving our new backyard look and privacy. One example of thier excellence: after day 1 of the install I noticed one cedar plank that was probably the bottom of the pallet, a little marked up had been installed in a particularly viewable area. I went outside early on day 2 to mention it and it was already replaced. Pretty awesome.

The overall experience was excellent. From the moment they came for the initial consultation, from…read morethe follow up service that was needed when I changed my mind about the fence requirements and they had to re-do the quote, to when they handled all the paperwork seamlessly that Veridian Homes requires, they were always pleasant and responsive. The timelines they gave for all aspects of the fence materials, construction, and follow up service were accurate and met. I was very happy with the appearance of the fence afterwards. It was beautiful. I did not shop other competitors for pricing, but I believe for the quality of the job and materials and the labor involved it seem to be a more than reasonable price. Update in 2022: There was a strong wind that blew furniture off of my neighbor's patio and also separated part of a panel of my fence. I had requested that some adjustments be made and they answered my call and said they would be out within a week! 7 years after the initial installation!! They could not be a better company to do business with, both during and after the sale.

Could easily reach 5 star rating if they were more responsive. It is a small family run business…read morebut it does take a few tries and sometimes days got them to return calls. Although, you cannot beat the price. $3k less than the other 2 installers we had bid the pro

I would not recommend American Fence to anyone. They had terrible communication and told us we were…read moregoing to have the fence attached with screws then used nails. We got quotes for a 5ft cedar fence with inch gaps from 4 fence places, and asked all of them if they used metal posts and screwed boards on, so we'd get a great fence that lasts. Jim said they did (or we would have skipped him) and had a lower price than the other fence places that used metal posts and screws. We put down a deposit and don't hear anything for 2 months. Texts and emails took up to a week to get responses through the process. Then Jim showed up out of the blue to ask if they could start building tomorrow (we were waiting on a survey report, so no) So he said he'd come back next week. Next week, got a text at 7:20am that they'd be there in 10 minutes (luckily I woke up early that day!) The crew was great though, and finished the fence in 2 days, however used nails because they claimed screws would take too long and cost too much. I went out and added 2 screws per board in a couple hours for about $50. While doing this, I found about 10 boards that were missing at least one nail. I also found a large number of boards with nails that were overdriven, some driven straight through the board and not attaching them at all. One board had both bottom nails overdriven, so our dog could have pushed his way out. My dad (carpenter for 30 years) said it was pretty shoddy work and agreed with adding screws to actually secure it. I took down their sign on the fence so anyone has to ask me who did it and I can warn them. Overall, find somewhere else. Neighbors have said it looks really nice (and it does!) but I've warned them all to avoid American. Even if you have to pay a bit more, get a fence that will actually last from someone else.

What you really need to understand is: There's no such thing as 'Good Neighbor Fencing'. There's no…read morecrew, there's no real company; there's just Chad. All Chad wants is your deposit money, and once he gets it, all bets are off. A workday from Chad typically looks like: he shows up at 10:30, he leaves by 4:30, and he takes over an hour for lunch. Just him, no one else. When he bothers to show, if he bothers to show. Chad will also ignore you, promise to show up and then repeatedly ditch work without notice, work as little as one day a week, ignore instructions, cut utility lines, apparently deliberately, if they're in his way (the TDS repair guy certainly thought so), cause serious property damage, screw up your fence design, waste or damage fence parts requiring endless deliveries of new materials, leave trash all over your land, play hooky to work on side cash gigs for your neighbors and eventually, if you annoy him by asking him to get down to work and actually fulfill the contract, he will quit, ghost you and disappear with your deposit money entirely. In my case, this meant almost having the fence repossessed by the train depot because Chad failed to arrange its pickup when it was delivered to them; not getting the fence installed last December when the contract specified because Chad took so long to get it on my site that the ground froze; waiting four months for Chad to actually start in spring; spending five weeks trying, and failing, to get him to competently finish even a major portion of the fence; then having him immediately quit the job when I tried to put some boundaries on the project in the middle of week *six*. For reference, in our contract, Chad promised to do it in *one* week. Chad also promised I'd be his top priority, then openly told me he was abandoning my job, over and over, to do other work, including, in one memorable instance, for my own neighbor. As of this review I'm looking at having to sue Chad to recover that deposit and possibly to cover all the damages and delays I've suffered, assuming he has any actual assets to go after. I've had to hire another company to replace him and will have to cover the double installation costs as well as any repair costs in the meantime. Chad, aka "Good Neighbor Fencing", is the worst, most unscrupulous, most outright dangerous contractor I've ever had the displeasure of working with. You should learn from my mistake and avoid him at all costs.
