Robert was incredible to work with, and an enormous support not only in terms of vision, but also in regards to budget. Robert was honest and solutions oriented. I showed Robert many photos of inspiration and explained exactly what I was looking for our summer wedding full of greenery and white florals. Our arch/chuppah for the ceremony was absolutely stunning, the bouquets, the table arrangements were breathtaking and the intricate centerpiece for our table cards was unlike any floral design I have ever seen! Our arch was a simply stunning backdrop for our ceremony, and afterwards all our guests were excited to take pictures with it!  Robert and his team at Madison Florist went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with everything, and I couldn't recommend them enough. Robert knows what he is doing and helped us plan every detail involving flowers from bouquets, tables, chuppah, etc. He knows what brides want and is willing and able to incorporate their vision, as well as help you out if you're not sure. Disappointing service on delivery. My friend sent me a flower for my belated birthday, and I gave them a call to schedule a delivery. They did set a date on the delivery, but didn't give a timeframe - not sure if they expected me to stay at home all day. When they did come to my apartment, they just pressed the buzzer to my apartment, didn't announce themself or call/text me, and left the flower outside of the front door in the heat. WTF? The flower arrangement itself was beautiful, so I am giving two stars instead of one. Unfortunately it contained flowers (lilies) that are highly toxic for my pet, so I had to put the arrangement where they can't reach... away from my eyesight as well. Zero stars if I could! My boyfriend tried to surprise me with flowers for Valentine's Day and paid extra to get them delivered on Valentine's Day (feb 14) to my job. Today (feb 13) I get a call from the company saying "your flowers are in the lobby" (he was surprising me so this ruined the surprise). Why would he want to sent me flowers for a holiday and them to get here a full 24 hours prior? On top of that, the flowers looked NOTHING like the photo. Poor presentation, the carnations are unbloomed and then the daisies are dying and wilting. Not worth the money coul have gotten better flowers at Trader Joe's for $5. read more

Ordered flowers thru FTD website and Madison was the assigned florist. I placed my order EARLY April for a delivery on 4/29. But on 4/29, Madison florist reported to FTD my flowers were delivered to my best friend as of 5:43pm. These flowers were for her birthday and was supposed to be a surprise! So by 6:15pm i checked in with my girlfriend and she NEVER received the flowers! The long phonecalls with FTD started from then all the way til today 5:30pm! Madison florist told FTD that nobody was home at my gf's house. Mind you, my gf was talking to me all day with time stamp, her whole family is home cos theres a quarantine in NY--HELLO! Not only did they not ring the doorbell, call the cellphone number listed on the order, they also LIED to FTD! The flowers were finally delivered a WHOLE day after. INEXCUSABLE, UNPROFESSIONAL and LIARS! I would've been understanding if they just said they didnt get to my delivery due to large orders. But dont freaken LIE! read more

I ordered a bouquet of flower for my girl friend from the Madison Florist website, but she never received the flowers. I wanted to surprise her. She just had a baby. I called the store. Someone picked up the phone and said the order was delivered before I provided my name and the order number. I asked him how you knew what my order was and you were sure it was delivered. How come I didn't receive a confirmed e-mail. He said okay you could give me your e-mail I would send a confirmation to you. Then I was wondering how he knew what my order was. NO stars if possible. The most ridiculous customer service that I've ever had dealt with. Okay, okay, I understand today is Valentine's day, but how do you put me on hold for 15 minutes and expect me to wait? On top of the waiting, I spent half the day trying to even get a ring tone. Robert did my wedding flowers and table cloths on 8/15/15 and let me just say the service and promises was great but when it came to actual day of the wedding. HORRIBLE! Wow. I haven't even used this place and I can tell you their customer service is so lacking it almost hurts! I was referred to Madison Flowers by my wedding venue, Terrace on the Park (located in Queens). I am unable to use the phone for personal calls from work so I went to their website (I do get many moments where I can use a computer). I was not impressed - its BLACK (when I think flowers I think light & bright, fresh, colorful, happy, not BLACK) and the flowers all looked exactly the same - very heavy, over done, 1980's style massive centerpieces. None of the modern, super-trendy-right-now flower balls or terrariums, or clusters of small arrangements, nothing funky like bird cages or floating blooms. But they are familiar with my venue, so I figured I'd give them a try. I filled out a very long and detailed questionnaire and hit submit. I noted in the questionnaire there was a question about what my budget was - selections *started* at $2,000. That was Monday. Within 10 minutes my cell phone started to ring. But I can't answer because I'm at work. I wait a few minutes and check my email. Nothing. The next day, still no email. Wednesday, again during business hours, they call. Still, I can't answer and still no email. This is a huge pet peeve of mine - in business one should always respect the customer's communication preference and answer in kind. If they email, email them back, don't call; If they call, call them back, don't email. Its pretty easy. Thursday I send them an email through their website saying I can't speak on the phone, please email me back. Several hours later I get a very generic email from Robert with essentially no information - no hours, no comments on my detailed questionnaire responses, just an offer for "a complimentary interview to discuss [my] wedding needs" at one of "2 locations for [my] comfort." Only neither location is very convenient - Brooklyn with street parking only or mid-town Manhattan (ok I work in mid-town, but unless I know they have evening hours, coming from Queens to mid-town on a weekend isn't very pleasant a proposition). And what on earth is a "complimentary interview"? Does that mean sometimes they charge prospective customers for the privilege of discussing flowers? The email refers me to check out their website for more information. The website that doesn't list hours or show any modern floral ideas. I haven't even spoken with anyone from this place and already I'm pissed off at them. I get it they aren't journalists and maybe writing isn't their preference, but hot dang, if you don't want to do written communication don't offer it! I can forgive the grammar and formatting errors the email was riddled with, but not the lack of any useful information whatsoever. And if you are the "house florist" for a venue in Queens, having a location in Queens, or at least accessible via Queens subways, should pretty much be a given. read more

I placed an order for a dozen of roses to be delivered to my girlfriend's office on Valentine's day last Wednesday, the flowers didn't arrive until almost 7pm in the EVENING!! I called the florist around 6 regarding the situation, the guy on the phone told me that he had to look at all the orders because he didn't know which delivery truck had them. He told me it's going to take a while so he said he would call me back. I waited 40 minutes. FORTY MINUTES! He did not call back. I called again and a girl picked up. It was the day before mothers day. I needed something quick and nice for my dear mother who I love very much. I opted for the most expensive flowers (the ones that don't die I forgot what they are called, really pretty ). At other places would have been cheap but decided needed this now . Spent 100 something . After seeing what they delivered to my.mother I was not impressed and felt offended. I could have probably gotten better and cheaper from another florist with the same choice of flower. It's messed up that you.took advantage of prices with me, but even more so when you promised something special for my mother and did not follow through . Madison Florist, and more specifically, Robert Agge were AMAZING to work with! He delivered the wedding of my and my husband's dreams and surpassed my expectations. Robert listened to every thought I had with patience and kindness, and trust me, after postponing my wedding two times over two years due to Covid, I had A LOT of ideas! He is so detailed oriented, with a very chic tasteful eye, and he truly listens to your vision and also steers you in the right direction. He's attentive, responds promptly and is a true joy to work with. (I wasn't so lucky with another vendor, which only made me appreciate Robert even more). My guests were floored when they walked into both the ceremony and reception spaces, with so many people telling me the space looked "magical". Definitely line the perimeter of the room with flame less candles if you can. It was gorgeous and romantic and so worth it. That is an example of one of Robert's ideas that truly elevated the space. We used Madison Florists for our arch, table centerpieces, cocktail hour arrangements, bouquets, sweetheart table arrangements, corsages and boutonnieres for our wedding. Having never planned a wedding before, my partner (now husband) and I were not sure what to expect. Robert was very helpful and interviewed us to understand what we wanted and what we wanted our guests to remember. He offered several suggestions and had tons of pictures for us to choose from. My partner however had located a beautiful floral arrangement on-line and sent a pic to Robert for our centerpieces. Robert liked the centerpiece pic and assured us he could replicate it. We met with Robert several times and he made sample arrangements for our review. On our wedding day May 12th, 2017, the floral arrangements were great. Madison Florist did not disappoint. Robert assured us all of the flowers would be perfect and they were. We loved hearing our guests gasp when they saw all of the floral arrangements in the beautifully decorated Penthouse room at Terrace on the Park in Queens, NY. Great job Robert. Very similar wedding experience. Disorganized scheduling, unclear pricing, misplaced contracts, and a vague feeling of uneasiness mixed with the optimism that everything will turn out ok. The centerpieces were AMAZING, our branch-y arch perfect, and the bouquets and boutonnieres beautiful, classy and in the right quantity. Weird things: at every consultation, Billy promised us "boxes of petals" for the aisle, tables, bathroom, etc etc. It looked like he used maybe 1 box. The company he subcontracted for the linens also supplied the wrong color bows for the chairs. But whatever. Everything was beautiful and I still have my bouquet hanging upside down in my apartment, and I smile every time I see it. Take a look at these beautiful orchid center pieces from my wedding. I have called and ordered flowers for four funerals. I call and ask specifically for the owner, George. Each wreath and basket has been absolutely exquisite. The grieving relatives and others at the wake always came over to tell me how extraordinary the flowers and arrangements were. I hate carnations and other typical "cheap" flowers, so I ask for exotic flowers. Can't tell you how special the arrangements are!! Such variety in the flowers, such a wide selection of rich colors and fabulous shapes -- and the flowers are so fresh, like they were just cut that same day. And the flower shop is VERY generous with the number of flowers they use. My baskets and wreaths come out huge!! I am shocked by these reviews! The reason I chose Madison florist for our wedding in Oct 2012 was because of the amazing job they did at my brother's wedding a few years prior. Everyone at Madison was professional and nice when planning my wedding. When I went for my consultation, with George, my suggestions were listened to and when I asked for a professional opinion about my ideas, I was provided one in the most respectful manor. Spent $100 . . . and I seem to have gotten a lot more than $100 worth of flowers . . . and the arrangement was, in a word, stunning. It looked as if it were worth twice what I paid. He was very professional and allowed my wife to express her ideas and expectations with ease. I was referred to this florist by Giando on the Water restaurant for my wedding. I read these reviews and didn`t want to use them , but was convinced that they`ve been working with Giando`s for many years and would do their best because they knew the layout of the restaurant, the details, etc. First of all, I`d like to start with communication with them. They do not reply your e-mails for weeks, when you finally call them they seem to make a look like they have everything under control and they were not supposed to answer your e-mails. They got a lot of information wrong in a contract, so I had to go over it multiple times. Secondly, they were trying to convince me that the color of the flower i wanted was the color they had (which didn`t match). I was very persistent and got that color and that`s why they got two stars and not one. My bridal bouquet was nice but some of the flowers looked rather old, the orchid and some roses lost their petals even before the ceremony. Center pieces were nothing like they presented to me before the wedding. Like I some kind of fool and won`t see it. They made them smaller and put more cheap flowers. The center pieces fell apart the next morning. My ceremony flowers. I made it very clear and it was spelled in the contract as well that I did not t want any calla lilies at my wedding. I showed them a picture how I`d like my ceremony flowers to be arranged. It was NOTHING like in the picture. Moreover it looked very cheap, there were calla lilies which in my country people put on graves and use at funerals. Overall, they charged us $1800. Another better company offered the same price. These guys arent`t worth it. Don`t trust these good reviews, it`s all bullshit. If you want nice flowers for your wedding, go with a different company. read more

Madison did my flowers for my wedding, and honestly I was disappointed. My wedding had to be moved to the next day from the original date, but that should not have been an excuse for my bouquet being wilted. My sweet boyfriend wanted to surprise me with beautiful flowers for valentines day. That didn't happen. When the flowers arrived, they looked nothing like the picture. The bouquet was much smaller, the stems were cut short, and instead of separate rose stems, they had 5 mini roses growing from one stem..amidst already dying carnations. My boyfriend was so upset and called to tell them how disappointed he was and that he wanted a refund. He was first told that he would have to bring them back to the store himself, which was miles away. He then spoke to another person from the store who said that whatever the first guy told him was what was. The he spoke with a representative from FTD because of their promise of a 7 day satisfaction guarantee. He was told to speak with yet another person. When he called the number and asked for a refund, he was hung up on. Finally he spoke with a person who said that it could be done and that someone would come by to pick up the flowers. We waited all day at home and no one showed up. He called again the next day and was told that we had to wait another 24 hours for someone to call and perhaps come and pick them up. We are still waiting and with no guarantee of the full refund. I write this review about 30 hours after receiving my flowers, and more than half of the flowers are already dead. Last Wednesday (5/8/13) I ordered a Teleflora arrangement to be sent to my friend who was recovering from surgery. I asked to use this florist since it was the closest to my friend's home. What could go wrong? Everything! Flowers did NOT arrive on the day requested! Day two, no flowers arrived late either in morning or afternoon. I called Teleflora and they attempted to contact Madison but could only leave a message. It was decided to cancel the order at 6:30 pm and attempt a delivery the following day by another florist. At a few minutes to 7 PM an arrangement arrives at my friend's house with my "Get Well" message written on a "Happy Mother's Day" card! Really?? The flower arrangement did not match the picture on the web site as to size (much smaller) and condition of flowers (roses in full bloom instead of emerging buds). When one decides to be a florist, they are choosing to bring joy to the world every day. Nothing brings smiles to people's faces like receiving flowers. But, when you are a florist and your Yelp rating is 2 1/2 stars, maybe it's time to reevaluate that life choice. I ordered a bouquet for a friend in NYC through FTD. This is the floral shop that fulfilled that order and here's what happened.... When you chose a bouquet on FTD, they give you options of Good, Better and Best. Good being the smallest version of that bouquet and Best being the largest (usually a $30 difference). My friend was sure in need of the Best so I went for the $60 version. What he ended up getting was the $15 version. I understand that expecting to get the beautiful arrangements that FTD have in their pictures is unrealistic but the bouquet he received was...insulting. It included 16...yes, 16 blooms. In an ideal world, I would have gotten what was in the picture. The picture was amazing and should have included over 60 blooms. Realistically, I would have been satisfied with something in the middle, but 16 flowers for $60....are they not aware that the internet exists where people even 1,743 miles (yes, the exact amount of miles) away can express their dissatisfaction? I am also very well aware that FTD is overpriced for what you get and that you shouldn't expect the amount of flowers based off of what you can buy from your local florist but personally, I can go down and pick up 4 to 5 dozen roses for that price (speaking of roses there were a total of 3 and all 3 of them were wilting). I just can't fathom how they found this acceptable. On top of the lack in size, everything looked just kind of just thrown in there. Overall, worst bouquet I've ever bought. I called FTD at 12pm to let them know that the bouquet was...less than satisfactory. They contacted this florist directly while I waited on the line. When the FTD rep came back on the line he seemed awfully shaken up. He said that the florist informed him there was NO WAY that they could send another bouquet out to replace the flowers and that it would have to wait till tomorrow. If this was a Friday, a Saturday, 3PM any day of the week, heck even a Thursday, I could understand that you are too busy to get flowers out by the end of the day. But this was 12pm on a Tuesday. Nothing I could do though. So I agreed but stipulated that he would need to receive them by 5 before he left work. 4:30 rolls around today and no flowers. I call FTD again. FTD calls the florist. FTD rep comes back on the line (shaken up) and says that the florist is now unwilling to fulfill my request and that he hung up on the FTD rep.
