No stress, no circling, no drama. The grounds are impressively well-kept. I counted three or four staff members actively tending to the place--grass being cut here, hedges trimmed there, a trash can getting emptied like it owed someone money. There's a clear, ongoing effort to keep things tidy, and it shows. Dog owners will appreciate the nicely shaded walking area. When we passed through, a couple was out enjoying the weather with their Shelties, living their best roadside life. There are also a few picnic tables for those who prefer to turn a pit stop into a proper pause. Now, the building itself... let's just say it's rocking a bit of a "vintage charm." From the outside, it feels dated compared to some of the more modern rest areas along I-65. Inside, it's clean--but again, definitely due for a facelift. There's a noticeable disinfectant aroma in the air. Whether that's reassuring or a little aggressive depends on your perspective, but hey--at least you know they're trying. A freshly mopped floor (thoughtfully cordoned off) confirmed that cleanliness is taken seriously. The men's and women's facilities are located on opposite sides, each with what appears to be two sections. In the men's room, the faucets are... adventurous. Instead of a smooth stream, you get a dozen tiny jets firing off like a synchronized water show. Functional? Yes. Elegant? Not so much. If you're feeling snacky, there are several surprisingly well-stocked vending machines--perfect for a quick grab, assuming you're okay with highway pricing doing its thing. At the end of the day, this rest area fulfills its core mission: a reliable, clean stop when nature calls. It's not going to win any design awards, but it gets the job done. A little modernization would go a long way--but in the meantime, it's a solid pit stop when you need it most.

We arrived around 2 PM and went directly to site #3 that over looks the Kentucky river. All sites are 30 / 50 Amp and full hook up. Sites are well groomed and are on cement pads. All sites have ample parking. We have a back in site but had no problem parking camper. Several large pull through available. Heavy rain all night long and this morning their is very little standing water. Shower house is nice and clean. Large playground for children. Walking paths along river. Look forward to many more camping trips here. Only about 3 hours from are home.

Since we were staying for one night on our way up north and one more on our way back, we decided to save some money and go with the Travel Lodge. We called to make our reservations and talked with the owner. He assured us we would have the best room for our needs. When we got there we found our room was just right and of course it was very clean even though a bit dated. That didn't matter to us. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room to move around. The bathroom was also what we needed as my mom uses a walker. We slept well and the next day we were on our way for the rest of our trip. When we reached our destination we checked into our "high end" hotel and I was astonished. The room was so small that the 2 beds took up all the space. The beds were so high that we had to go out and buy step stools just so we could get into them and so soft that I felt I was rolling out half the time. The bathroom was so tiny that mom could not close the door with her walker. Plus the toilet was so low to the ground we could barely get up, When we went to get breakfast it was a brown bag. When we were heading back home I could not wait to get back to the Travel Lodge where the room made sense and was comfortable. There may not be all the amenities of the "high end" hotels, but we were more comfortable and treated with great kindness. As for me and my family, the Travel Lodge is our halfway stopping point. They eliminated pads to make the places more roomy... concrete pads are new, flat, and huge. Blackstone grills, nice fire pits with chairs, nice tables with chairs and umbrellas... It's super clean, well maintained... the grounds are impressive. This is way underrated as it now stands. It's definitely amoung the top 3 or 4 percent of RV Resorts you will find. We've stayed at places costing almost twice this that were not nearly as nice. We've stayed at dozens and dozens of places.

I called wanting to rent a 12 passenger van for the weekend, June 3-5 to be exact. I was given a quote of $255.30 for these dates. I told the gentleman I was speaking with I would give him a call back later once I had decided to book. I called back later this day and spoke with a female (the owner). I told her I called earlier and was ready to book the van for this trip. She proceeded to give me a new quote because apparently the first quote was wrong or as the owner said, "a mistake". The new quote she provided me was $439. At this point, I am highly confused why the quote was much higher, just as anyone would. She thoroughly explained the quote back to me in which I appreciated. At this point, the owner did not even offer a discounted quote or anything for the satisfaction of the customer. I let her know that I would again call her back as this was a much higher quote and I would have to discuss with the people in the group who was going on the trip. (I am obviously determined in giving my busies to the company at this point). The next day I called back and the owner answered my call. I let her know that I would like to be able to book this van for the quote I was initially given. She denied giving me the quote for $255.30. After a long conversation, she finally decided to give us a discounted quote of $382.95. In this conversation, the owner was highly rude and not understandable at all in which I thought was very unprofessional. During this conversation with the owner, I mentioned that our friends were renting a van during the same weekend and were quoted $286 for a 16 PASSENGER VAN. She looked at this quote while on the phone and was proved that they were given this quote and she told me this was a "mistake". There was also another friend of mine who they quoted $127 for the whole weekend for a 12 passenger van. She had no solution to this problem. This company's mission is not to satisfy the customers. OBVIOUSLY. Who knows how many times other customers were ripped off due to this issue. I did not end up booking this van from this company due to this.
