25 hours from Philadelphia to Las Vegas. I'm still tired. ~Arrive at Philly. Ticket agent refused to move my flight up a few hours despite availability without a $400 change fee. I've been flying SWA for three decades and was in Pennsylvania on a military burial detail. She didn't give a rat's ass and wouldn't even ask a supervisor. ~Plane departs Philly to Nashville, but Nash gets closed due to storms. After holding for quite some time our plane diverts to Louisville, but since every plane east of the Rockies also diverted to Louisville, we have no gate to dock and gas-up so our jet parks in a remote corner of the airport. We sit there, engines off, lines to the toilet, no knowledge of anything, for over 2 hours. ~Finally we dock, gas, and fly to Nashville, but it's past midnight and all of everyone's connections are canceled. ~We stand in line for an hour to find a way home. The ticket agent tells me I need to fly to Chicago, then St Louis, and then to Vegas. Flight for Chi-town is in 5 hours, not enough time for a hotel and SWA wasn't gonna pay anyway. All the stranded passengers sleep, in high densities, on the chairs and benches of a cafe. I'm shocked I didn't contract COVID-19. ~Get to Chicago but there's no ground personnel to marshal our jet to the gate, so we again sit on the tarmac. It was the marshallers Union break or perhaps the ground personnel couldn't find their orange wavy batons. ~Switch planes and arrive at St. Louis, this flight includes a post menopausal flight attendant witch who enjoys berating the passengers. I was shocked the other FAs didn't reel her in. May God have mercy on the unfortunate soul who married her. That dude is either a serial cheater or is contemplating suicide. ~Finally arrive in LAS the NEXT DAY but there's no person to operate/drive the jet bridge so we wait an additional ten minutes. What a nightmare made worse by the ticket agent in Philly and Attila the syphullitic Flight Attendant. The 49 preflight per flight warnings about no overhead bin space got old fast as well. But lowest marks go to SWA dispatch who knew the bad weather would likely shut down Nashville, yet they shoved us into the sky anyway. Not happy with you idiots. And I'm about to say/write something I never in a million years thought I would say: I wish I had flown Spirit.

This is our go to airline since we have tons of miles and that we are always some where traveling. Less is more with this airline. 5 stars

We fly Southwest often and never had a problem until our last trip. I'm writing this review on tremendous effort it took Southwest to reroute the whole plane that day and get us home. Due to no fault of their own, a problem was detected with the plane and we all had to get off. A full flight of people going everywhere with no idea when we would arrive and where - what about the connections?! People are completely pushy and everyone wants out - immediately. It's chaos, yet they call up everyone and rebook them on different flights pretty orderly. We were rerouted and given a big Southwest credit for the hassle. Cheered me up a little, I have to admit. And finally when everyone boards, a full 9 hours later.... we are exhausted and appreciative to go home, because it could have been worse. ;)

    There's an app for that!

    1. I don't pay for luggage 2. I deal with only friendly, quick people (in Louisville) 3. Checking in is super simple 4. I get the whole soda and don't have to split it with someone 5. They have dodgy, but inexpensive WiFi on the plane 6. They go, pretty much, all the places I go What gets them a five, over a four? They have flight attendants who correct MY grammar. When you have someone who can be more pedantic than I am and catch me in error? Friday, I'm in love. Because, let's face it: flying is awful and wonderful at the same time. I feel like Malory Archer every time I fly (a drink in my hand and a caustic remark in my mouth). Really, you people are the worst: TSA rules have been the same three-ring circus since Dick Cheney was in his first term as Imperious Leader and you know how you need to pack and what you need to do in line AND DON'T DO IT, you know when you board the plane how to act and you don't, your bags are free to check and you insist on dragging that thing around hitting everyone with it, you run over the handicapped, the old, families with children, pregnant women, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free, you're rude to the flight attendants, you didn't plan for the comfort and entertainment of your offspring, and you're loud when everyone else is wants to enjoy the flight in peace and quiet. You are why flying is like having a dead fish wrapped in a dirty diaper in your pocket. You're the problem, not the TSA, not the airline, not the airport: YOU. So, Southwest Airlines bends over backwards (compared to other flying metal tubes filled with awful people) to make people happy. The flight attendants are clever, and they sing to you, they tell jokes. They're helpful. They give me the whole soda instead of like a third of it, and snacks that Ellen gives a great stand up act about, and they have a somewhat orderly process to load us onto and off of the plane. They do everything a person can do to make the process bearable and fun but I swear to GOD nothing is good enough for you people. We can't have nice things. I tip my hat to Southwest Airlines (but I don't take it off, I'm self conscious about the bald spot) because in a world where everyone is THE WORST you do your best to make it less so. Hip, hip, hurrah.

We noticed many stores (lots of bourbon here and it seems that everyone is on that bandwagon.) They also had one really robust store here with many brands, sizes, etc... I wound up buying some take home at the Churchill Downs Store but was a little set back on the pricing. $45.00 for hat??? A fairly quick walk to the gate and we sat a waited. Internet is really good here and I had no trouble viewing some live video. After waiting a bit we decided to stop by Chilis for a quick bite before the delayed plane left. It was refreshing to see and experience. The seating seemed a little primitive as I didn't observe a lot of electrical/charging capability. I had to put my coffee on the seat as I went off and left it with my wife given lack of tables. My wife looked for a lounge but didn't locate any. I'm not sure if that was the airport as a whole or specific to Chase/AmEx cardholders. My daughter who is stationed in Italy and came to visit was complaining about the US coffee and I observed an Illy Italian coffee machine by our gate which made her smile. Love this aiport.
