Not terrible, not great. Clean. The raised doughnuts looked good but I didn't eat one. Sticky bun= good dough texture, lots of goo but no depth of flavor, sparse sprinkling of nuts and raisins, could see cinnamon but didn't taste it Cinnamon roll= liked the white icing on top that tastes like cream doughnut, couldn't taste the cinnamon, dough was very bland I would try a doughnut next time but skip the sticky bun and cinnamon roll. read more

This is the best bakery in town. They make amazing pastry's, the coffee is delicious and the service is wonderful. I also ordered my daughters fifth birthday cake from here. ALLERGY FRIENDLY!!! They only put nuts on their sticky buns after they are made. Nothing else is made with nuts! One of the only donuts my nut allergic kid has been able to have. Vanilla cream donut was very good. Iced latte was very good. Apple fritter was eh but the vanilla cream more than compensated. read more

My girlfriend and I went here for a quick snack. She got the coffee cake and I got the apple fritter. We both got drinks as well. Visited this adorable bakery after a wedding and picked a myriad of things to take with me on my 7 hour drive home. Not only was I pleased with the incredibly sweet customer service the moment I walked in, but this little bakery was charming and warm and their products were TO DIE FOR. As someone who lives in NY I am no stranger to a good bakery but this was definitely a surprise. Their donuts were soft with the right amount of sweet to them, their croissants were OUT OF THIS WORLD, their danishes far better than any I ever had with inventive new flavors I wouldn't have thought about with a danish. We ordered a half sheet vanilla cake with strawberries and custard filling. It was absolutely delicious and beautiful! And to top it all off one of the employees helped me and carried it to the restaurant around the corner. Everyone I came into contact with either by email, on the phone, or in person was very pleasant and super accommodating. They were also prompt in their email responses. Meh, lemon squares were gooey and the brownies were not very moist. Both were small for the price.

The pastries here are really nice and I would highly recommend, but do not buy the cheesecake. I bought a slice of cheesecake that was basically inedible. It was very rubbery and dense, and lacked a flavor. Other than that one item, the rest was quite good. read more

If you appreciate great food for a low price, visit Madison's Bakery on Beach just across from the Convention Center. Once you walk into the door, you are met with a huge decision. On the counter is a large tray of Sticky Buns flanked by another large tray of Cinnamon Rolls. I had both, and they are spectacular. No one makes them better. And underneath, you see 30-40 additional delights. I had several. Then there is the coffee. It is drop dead great. On your next visit to Cape May, you should splurge on this very affordable delight. read more

My family stayed in Cape May over Christmas and we ordered breakfast at Madison's Bakery for my large family every day. The owners were beyond friendly and helpful. One of the owners even drove me back to the rental house since my order was so large. He went so far as to carry the order into the kitchen, wishing the excited children a Merry Christmas on the way in. In addition to that, we really enjoyed the food. We had a variety too; sticky buns, scones, bagels and a seasonal cake. It was all exceptional. We are coming back to Cape May next week and are already planning our summer breakfast list. I had cake from here for a special occasion. It was a sheet cake, decorated very nicely, and I was excited to dig in! However, when I did, it turned out to be hard, like it was a day old (it was picked up less than an hour before we ate it). There were 15 people eating this cake, and every last one of us said the cake was not good. Besides being hard, there wasn't a whole lot of flavor. The icing had a good taste, but I could feel the sugar crystals in it. I would not order from this bakery in the future, based on this experience. The prior time we needed a special occasion cake, we ordered it from a bakery in Wildwood, and although a hike from Cape May, it was worth it! It was absolutely delicious. I ate their cinnamon bun with fluffy vanilla icing warm from the oven. It was like cinnamon heaven. This baker knows her stuff, because while it was HUGE, it was light and feathery. I could not rave enough about it, to the point where I spent the rest of my morning telling people to go there and get a cinnamon bun! When you order a birthday cake in red, white and blue for a 7 year old boy named Rex who was born on the Fourth of July and you get a coral and light blue cake with flowers and the owners tell you they are backed up with cakes, this is as red as they can get it without fondant. Don't order a cake for Valentines Day or Christmas if you need red icing! Owners were less than concerned with our displeasure. Wish we would have spent $17.99 at Acme! read more
