I went to Mado with my girlfriends for a weekend brunch, and honestly, it was such a fun experience! If you love authentic Turkish food (or just amazing food in general), you need to check this place out. Their menu has so much to choose from kebabs, fresh salads, mezes, and even their famous Turkish ice cream. Here's what we ordered: Menemen: This is a classic Turkish breakfast dish with eggs, tomatoes, green peppers, and spices, all cooked in olive oil or butter. We added cheese because, why not? It was SO good. Turkish Cilbir Eggs Benedict: Think poached eggs with plain yogurt and spicy butter sauce. Turkish Black Tea & Espresso: The perfect way to end the meal. Everything was so flavorful, and the restaurant itself felt cozy and welcoming The staff were friendly as well. I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their menu! Highly recommend this spot.

I tried Turkish breakfast platter, delicious food, great service and good ambience, also very clean. I'll go again to try their baklava.

We came here on an evening for desserts and were disappointed. I believe the quality and taste of their dessert and their customer service could use a lot of improvements. They have a nice decoration with all the Turkish serving dishes and the staff are friendly, but the desserts we ordered didn't have much of a taste and weren't even fresh. We ordered "Honey Pistachio", "Orange Chocolate Cake" and "San Sebastian Cheesecake" from their cold desserts menu, with Turkish Tea and Latte. When the desserts arrived, we couldn't even cut the "Honey Pistachio" as it was really hard and old. So we asked the staff and they offered to change it. And when the new one arrived, they had warmed it up (although it was a cold dessert) and the honey cream was so soft that had turned into liquid and the whole dessert became smashed. When we requested the bill, they didn't provide us with one and only brought the machine and entered the total bill for us to pay. And when we requested the bill, they said they don't provide paper bills anymore! We were shocked and then they offered to show us the bill on their iPad! It appeared that they charged us extra for changing the dessert, so they removed it and emailed the bill after the payment went through.

The desserts look great. I tried the milky pudding which was thick and gooey with very little flavor. It was just okay, disappointing, and not good enough to want to get it again. Good service. I'd be curious to try different items.

Eclectic menu, pretty tasty food. Favourite dish was the menemen, which was properly eggy, tomatoey, and cheesy. Also got a wrap, fig icecream, turkish delights and turkish coffee and tea, which were all fine.

Passed by this place several times so was wondering what kind of place it was. Finally got time to visit with friends, but the experience was so-so. It's a cafe restaurant that serves both bakeries and main dishes. Food was OK. Baklava was yum, crispy on the top and had some sort of paste inside, not a lot of nuts though. My friend had the Cozy Breakfast and she didn't seem to be much impressed. Kunafah looked nice and big portion too. The latte I had was on par. The decor was that mid-century style design, but somehow it felt like this place was not recently opened; the interior design was nice but not well maintained. Lastly, I have to say something about their service. The staff definitely need more training. The young man who hosted us seemed quite confused when we were asking for bill. When a table asked for the bill it meant that they were ready to leave, the young man acknowledged our needs, then turned away and started arranging cups...?? We asked three times and he finally showed up when I told another staff that we'd like to skip out on the bill since we were invisible anyway. A bit of a disappointing dining experience. Very rich Turkish coffee, paired with a delicious pistachio dessert. My friend also ordered an egg breakfast dish, but I forgot the name. It tasted really good as well. The location is great, always has a steady stream of customers. The service is decent. I'm quite interested in coming back next time to try other pistachio desserts.

Great experience here! The friendliest service from multiple staff members, and the most delicious breakfast. I had the sales drink to start which is a thick milky walnut drink with cinnamon. For my breakfast, I had the menemen with cheese and it was so good! Had a great flavor and texture and it came with a side of pita like bread. I also got some Turkish delights to go which I can't wait to try!

I've passed by this place numerous times after work and wanted to come here in the near future for a lovely meal. On a Saturday afternoon, my boyfriend and I came here to have lunch. I was so excited to finally try its food! We were warmly greeted by a friendly waitress. She brought us water and explained that the menu can be accessed by scanning the QR code. I ordered menemen (Turkish egg scramble) with cheese. He ordered chicken curry with rice. For dessert, we ordered two pieces of pistachio baklava and two scoops of Turkish ice cream (pistachio and milk). Our meal was delicious! I enjoyed the blend of flavours and textures- the soft eggs and eggplants, the gooey cheese, all swimming inside tangy tomato sauce. My boyfriend also enjoyed his meal- he said that the curry was creamy and was full of flavour. The pieces of chicken and mushrooms were cooked just right, they were juicy. We also enjoyed the desserts- the baklava were sweet like maple syrup and each layer with pistachio pieces was joyful to eat. The Turkish ice cream tasted like a very smooth sorbet yet thick like gelato. We had pistachio and milk flavours- they were smooth and tasted like their name. Convenient location, friendly service, delicious food- give it a try!

Mado @ Yonge offers a great selection of desserts and snacks alike. The wait time is pretty good considering the amount of traffic this place gets depending on the time of day and the day of the week. As for the decor, it is quite modern and aesthetically pleasing to the eye, it brings out a unique charm to it

Nice ambiance and did not have to wait to get a table on a Saturday afternoon. Many appealing, sweet and savoury pastries, both delicious! The highlight was the caramel tres leches cake, albeit quite sweet if you are not a fan of caramel.

The chicken was mixed with two layers of cheese and a few slices of tomatoes. We ask them to hold the chili pepper. Adana is a lamb skewer. It was tasty and flavourful. It comes with a chili pepper and mixed salad, which was good. We swapped out the rice for fries, which was also good. The Baklava was just right; it wasn't drenched in honey, so it stays crispy. The Turkish Tea was the a good fish to a meal. Apparently, it is free when you have a dine-in meal. The customer service was good, except we have to keep asking to fill our water glasses. There is enough indoor seating. There is easy listening (English-language) music playing in the background. This restaurant opened in Feb 2024. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are separate male/female washrooms downstairs, thus not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. There is one high chair for little children. Review 2024-148

The waiter was really nice, he was friendly and smiling when he greeted me and took our order. My friend and I shared the meat doner with bulgur because we were not that hungry. When it came, it looked too good to eat. Presentation was well done with a variety of toppings and it was aromatic. Sadly we found the meat to be too salty for us. It was hard to eat when the bulgur and pita were running out as well. We were surprised to see that we were charged for $4 just for a cup of water each?? It's a good thing though that we were able to park on the residential street after 6 p.m. This is a fairly small restaurant with a patio. Menus are viewed by scanning a QR code. I'm not sure if it's specified, but certain items are only available at certain times. There's a chance that what you want to order is sold out or not available, so I'd recommend having a backup order ready. It was a super busy night when we went, so the food did take quite a while and was severely staggered in arriving at the table. Luckily, the restaurant was considering adding a pasta dish to their menu, and we were given one to try complimentarily. It was pretty tasty, and so were the dishes that we each ordered. The portions are decent, so if you're not a big eater, it'd be good to share dishes. The bread is so fluffy and yummy! At the end of the meal, we were given tea. It was a nice touch. However, they should specify that it's on the house. I had brought a cake and asked if we'd be able to cut it and eat it there. The server said yes, but it'd be a $5 charge per person. I understand that they provide plates and cutlery and will have to wash it, and I'm not sure what the norm is, but $5 per person seems high.
