Yelp reviews convinced me to seek out this restaurant, saying the shrimp cocktail was on point. Entered to a full restaurant with a short line. Good sign. As was expecting hole in the wall ambiance, no stars docked for sticky tables and other similar expectations. Shrimp cocktail arrived - tasted like someone made the recipe, put it in the cup, and then added 1/2 cup of water to the cocktail. Certainly enjoyed what I ordered here. I just went with the Asada quesadilla with the rice and beans. Rice and beans are really good not overly salted just the flavor. Came here after my haircut appointment with my father because we were in the mood to get a caldo or soup especially for this rainy day. I was so thankful that this place serves caldos on the daily! Like many authentic real Mexican restaurants, most places only serve caldos on certain days or the weekends. But it looks like we got lucky! My dad got the caldo de res (beef) and I opted for the menudo (sad that they didn't have pozole today ) They have a variety of drinks and even serve beer, but my favorite part is the handmade corn tortillas. I will definitely be back to try their pozole and quite possibly to even place an order of tamales as well!! Came here from the reviews and it did not disappoint! I got the chilaquiles with asada and sunny side up eggs and it was bombbbb! We're visiting a friend in Chino. We're from out of state. My husband loves Huevos Rancheros so our friend asked his Hispanic friend for a recommendation and this is where he sent us. It's kinda off the beaten path. Very glad we were directed here! The guys had Huevos Rancheros with beans and potatoes. I had a Chili Relleno with beans and potatoes. We are all happily stuffed!!! (:-) They make homemade corn tortillas! So rare. These are PERFECT. I could make a meal out of these tortillas and beans. If I am ever here again that's what I'll do. The Chili Relleno was good but I can find them everywhere. It's very rare to find delicious homemade corn tortillas. I was pleasantly blown away by this Mexican restaurant. I've eaten a ton of Mexican food in Los Angeles, Mexico, and California in general. This place delivered the best mulas I have ever had, and the tacos were flawless. Grilled onions complemented the dishes. The chorizo had the right amount of spicy kick without the grease! Also, the pastor had a sweet pineapple seasoning that didn't include too much grease either. Amazing food! I had the shrimp tacos and my girlfriend had the 2 tostada plate with shrimp and fish ceviche. Salsa was epic. Horchata and agua de fresa were delicious and fresh. They most definitely don't skimp on the portions and im almost positive you won't find a better everyday deal out there. The only negative was that the service was a bit slow. Madrigal's looks like a hole in the wall spot, and they serve up some great tacos. When I was there it wasn't too crowded since I was in for a late lunch early dinner. The staff was super polite, and my food was served really quick. I got my order to go, and it stayed warm and travelled well. I've been places that if the tacos sit too long, they end up getting soggy, that was not the case with my tacos from Madrigal's. I tried 2 asada, 2 pastor and 1 chorizo tacos. The pastor tacos were my favorite. They were amazing. Great marinade on the pork, and super tender. The asada were great as well. The chorizo taco almost had a sweet taste to it, it was still enjoyable, but not the flavor I'm used to. This seems like a great spot to pick up tacos. Had a burrito craving and browsed yelp, this restaurant would always pop up for recommendations and I hadn't yet tried it so I figured I'd try it now. I decided to order online via the Yelp app, put an order in for a couple burritos for my hubby and I, he got carne asada, I wanted to try the birria one. After placing the order with payment, I got the confirmation that the food would be ready in 20 min. My husband went to pick it up for us, I told him it's under my name and when he got there, they said they hadn't received the order. So my husband called me, and I told him it should be ordered and paid for already, after he told them that, they then received the order. From their they cooked the food, my husband waiting about 15 min, and they gave him the food only to then ask for the food right back because they wanted to see proof of the order, but he didn't have the app, so he had to call me, as soon as I got on the phone, they then decided to just give him the order and not get the proof of the order. Then he got home and they messed up on a burrito and did Al pastor and not birria. Food was good, but still was a pain for the order, pick up, and then to not have the correct order read more

We have eaten here many times over the last five years or more. The food tastes and appears to be of good quality. My one star is for the health department's B rating with details provided on their website. This might explain that on some occasions after eating here, our stomachs became upset. This restaurant was recently closed for weeks after a health department inspection. Be aware of the B rating and eat at your own risk. I am truly disappointed and hissed out by my findings. From the San Bernardino Sun: Taqueria y Mariscos Madrigal, at 12924 14th St. in Chino, which was closed Aug. 19 because of a cockroach infestation, was permitted to reopen Aug. 31. The inspector saw multiple dead roaches and told the staff to continue cleaning, scheduling frequent pest control services and watching for insect activity. Taqueria y Mariscos Madrigal, 12924 14th St., Chino Closed: Aug. 19 Grade: 80/B Reason: Cockroach infestation. An inspector visited in response to a complaint that someone found a dead roach in their take-out order. I only discovered this place from an ad on Yelp, while perusing places to eat near Riverside. My sister and I decided to make the drive out to Chino one evening to give them a shot. It was near closing but we still had time to sit and eat, so we made our selections and waited. The lady who took our order was friendly and patient. I will say this was my first time eating authentic tacos. I've only had them from American Mex food places. When I got my plate, I noticed the tacos being smaller than I am used to. After I took the first bite....yeah....this is the good stuff. I ordered a fish and a shrimp taco. The pieces were on the small side, but I gotta say, whether it was the sauce or all the toppings, it worked well together. My sis and I devoured our tacos (she had chorizo and something else) and decided we would be back. Great place. After reading the other reviews, it's a relief to see they handled the rodent issue. Absolutely Delicious! First time trying out this place and it was a jackpot! My husband and I got Menudo, Tripas Tacos, Carnitas Tacos, Al-Pastor Tacos, Carnitas Burrito and Asada Mulas! & everything was AMAZING! My Menudo was so flavorful without having to add anything in it and also super warm which is a plus when order delivery. & everything else was just as amazing! I went in and saw that there was a customer conversing in spanish with the cashier so while I was relieved that it attracted a solid clientele, I was also slightly nervous that me being a different ethnicity would mean ruder customer service as I have experienced a few times in the past, but that was absolutely NOT the case. Wow..based on other reviews from Yelp,,,there is definitely something wrong here, sorry but based on my experience today, either Sundays is a bad day to go here or some people just don't have a clue of what real Mexican food looks like or taste like..cause this place was bad,,,I have had better tasting food from Taco bell,,,I'll go over some of the details just to show you that I'm not talking S%$# here, this is what we experience and take a look at the pictures, this place was dirty,,,and we were the only ones there,,,Sunday 2pm, I of all fat people in my house,,had a craving for a wet burrito,,,so coming back from south side of Chino, I remember seeing this place on Yelp,,,and this is what we got,,we ask if there was any Menudo being a cold cloudy day, and they had pictures on the wall, so they said yes,,I ask for a small sample first thing first,,,just so we don't waste money,,,and sure it enough, this Menudo was salty, salty, bad, it had a orange color, not enough red chilly in it..we did not like it, me and the wife taste it. So I went with the wet burrito, bad sign when I ask about the red chilly burrito and she "ask for what kind of meat" usually I'm used to "red chilly" where the meat is cooked in this "red chilly" lady tells me to pick any meat and they would put either red or green salsa on top,,,so I decided to give it a try,,,,BAD IDEA, not what I wish it was,,,I order Carne Asada, and sure enough it look like they just open a can of red sauce and pour it on top,,,I ask if they put cheese on top and she said yes,,,I should of ask if they put in the oven with the cheese on top..(see picture) inside the burrito it was Carne Asada, rice, bean, onions and cilantro,,,all ok except the Carne Asada,,,no taste whats so ever,,,,and since I pour some of the salsa on top, not sure which of all was a bit salty...wife order 4 tacos,,,Asada, Cabeza, Lengua, Buche,,,aaaahh, not the great not much flavor, specially the Asada, to bold, I ate the Buche,,it tasted old,,,she ate the other 3 and did not like them, she ask me to not bring her back again the baby 3yo is the only one who did not complain,,,he ate 1 Asada taco,,,(he has no Idea for him everything is "carnita" as in little meat) ok so now lets talk about the ambient,,this place is in bad shape,,,sorry hate to be an assss, but it look like it got painted by the kids in kinder class,,,paint everywhere over sprayed, overrolled no tapping or cautious when painting, paint on the floor, on the stools, just not done right, there was dirty tables with plates since I don't know what time, floor was dirty, THERE WAS NO ONE THERE BUT US,,,GET YOUR BUTT OUT AND CLEAN UP...sorry, but I won't be back...and sorry for such a long review but like to give full details and not just say is bad no good and that's it..P.S I forgot to mention this place is not economical about 24-25 bucks for 1-burrito 5-small tacos 2-can sodas read more

We drive a distance for these mulitas!! Seriously no comparison. The mulita combo is the way to go and add some tacos on the side and you can't go wrong! Their aqua pina is also really good!! Their green salsa is my absolutely Go to!!! The only down side to this hidden gem is the air conditioning!! They have some window units in but they really need a new system! I didn't care much about how the interior looked since I was ordering for takeout anyway but I noticed in one area of the kitchen the lighting panel was flickering. The gives off a bad impression in the lack of maintenance . I also noticed the kitchen staff were not wearing face masks. I'm not sure the mask mandate has been revoked for food service workers in San Bernardino just yet. My order of tacos took like 15 minutes to be ready. When I got home to eat, they have got to be one of the worst tacos I've ever had. The carne asada was chewy, came in big pieces, and tasted as if they were over-seasoned. The Al pastor tacos were very greasy. The best part were probably the chips and salsas. This is hands down the BEST Mexican food in the Ontario/chino area. I got tacos and holy cow the chicken was cooked to PERFECTION. Without asking, they added a side of radishes, lemons, grilled Serrano pepper(and it was so spicy), grilled onions, and even chips! When I opened the tiny container of sauce/salsa (red) , it had a really sour smell, turned me off. I mean what is good Mexican food without a good sauce or condiment to eat with it? Went in while my husband was getting his wisdom teeth pulled and got a plate of tacos with rice and beans. I got buche, lengua, and asada - all did not disappoint. Rice and beans were delicious and their salsas - heart eyes. Fast forward to now, I got catering done by them- it was a small event so we picked up food in large trays that came with salsas, tortillas, rice, beans, and the meats.
