Horrible experience with broken ATM (cash only business) that ate my card. Actual children working there who had no idea how to handle it. I even offered to give my information and to call me when someone was able to give me back my card to which they replied they don't think they can, that I should just report it missing. After ten minutes of standing in 90 degree heat with a two year old who just wanted ice cream, I asked if we could just get the ice cream we came for that I would be happy to pay for when I get my debit card back to which they replied no. Any other business would have offered me (also pregnant) and my son a seat and some ice cream on the house while they figured it out. The manager was nasty and accused me of just wanting free ice cream. When my husband later called on my behalf, after they watched me take my crying son away who just wanted ice cream, she was just as crude and miserable with him, saying customers like us just want free stuff and that she knows we will go on Yelp and leave a bad review and that she doesn't care. So, here it is. The bad Yelp review. Ever hear of a family business that lets a two year old walk away crying when it would cost practically nothing to make it right? Don't waste your money here. Honestly, the best thing I have to say is that the prices aren't terrible compared to other places in Worcester. I ordered a simple one-scoop Maple Walnut in a waffle cone. Generous portion, but the ice cream was very gritty- lots of ice crystals and very little of that creamy texture you expect from ice cream. As for the flavor- I've certainly had better from generic "frozen dairy product." Next to no maple flavor- at best it tasted like watered down sugar-free artificial maple syrup. read more

I give a one star because there is no option for 0. It is crazy that every time I come they are out of half of the flavors and toppings. Management needs to get a little better and do their job. Madulka's is a little pink ice cream shop located at 193 Lake Ave in Worcester MA. They have loads of delicious, refreshing ice cream flavors. Looking for a fresh, fruity ice cream flavor? They've got it. Looking for a rich chocolatey flavor? They've got that too! Or, if you're looking for just a simple float to quench your thirst, surprise! They've got you covered. Unfortunately, they only take cash. But you can find an ATM in the back to withdraw money from. Along with that, they also offer puppy cups to satisfy your hungry hound. This local ice cream shop is right next to the water's edge of Lake Quinsigamond. And on especially hot days, you can lounge in the back underneath a large pink canopy to be protected from the hot sun. Or, if you prefer, you can eat your delicious treats on the porch in the back that looks out over the water. But don't worry, if you can't find it, the bright pink building and canopy will be sure to catch your eye, apart from the other buildings. I personally love this shop. It's one of my favorites! Whenever my family and I are driving by, we always stop by if we get the chance to. I love their variety of hard-serves. My personal favorite is purple cow. I like how they maintain their ice cream to stay solid but still keep it rich and creamy. Aside from how amazing their ice cream is, I also enjoy sitting underneath the big canopy so that way I can stay warm from the sun, but also get a nice breeze since the porch is elevated. In my opinion, I don't think that there is a single thing I can name that I don't like about Madulka's off the top of my head. All in all, I would definitely recommend Madulka's to any sweet-lover. I always have to order a small because the portions are SO big. The ice cream is consistently good. I usually get the cookie dough with chocolate sprinkles. I'm picky about my cookie dough... But this place has big chocolate chips and perfect size cookie dough chunks. What makes this ice cream spot stand out is the awesome view of Lake Quinsig., even at night it's pretty. There's lots of outdoor seating and a parking lot across the street. I'm not sure how often this happens but one night I went this summer place next door had live music playing, it was a really nice date spot. read more

I really like coming here with my kids. They can see the water, tell me they see ducks, and have ice cream! It really is a special treat and we love us some ice cream. We usually don't spend more than 20-25 dollars for a family of five. They have some great flavors but I wish they would have a flavor of the week something new to try. Parking is scarce and they only take cash. They have an ATM which is convenient too. Staff are always friendly and attentive as well. read more

Went here yesterday 7-17 ordered an ice-cream went to give her my rewards card as I had a free ice cream, she rolled her eyes at me and told me the rules have changed, it has to be 10 ice creams now not 9 when the card clearly shows free ice-cream after the 9th stamp. What a joke. Also, they used to take card but because of greed, put their own ATM outside and charge $2.50 to use it cuz supposedly their credit card machine didn't work in that area..... I went here a couple times, until once when I ordered my usual , cookie dough ice cream, and noticed a small bug in my ice cream :(. So I said to the server, "hey , can I get another cup?" Never going back! It was 9 at night and the girls were already starting to close (they close at 10!!). Lines in the front, yet no one was in the back. I go to the back windows seeking service and I was ignored. Two girls took customers in the front while two other girls just cleaned and ignored their customers in the back. And it wasn't even like they didn't see me, they stared at me! Those girls refused to take my order and I am still appalled. Never going back because of the rude service.
