    Love the mural!

Soul food not to be missed although old patternJim Crow segregation can make Mae's easy to miss. It's not near downtown but very close to the historic Jefferson school on Elm Street on the south outskirts of town. The wonderful mural and blue painted exterior will catch your eye! A true neighborhood institution with young and old, black and white, business folks and retirees. Everyone is welcome. And boy do they come--for the food! I had meatloaf, creamed potatoes and chicken casserole--chunks of tender chicken spiced and mixed with noodles in a rich spicy sauce. Awesome! My colleagues had burgers and crinkle fries. Prepared fresh, they took awhile but OMG what juicy hand patted huge burgers they were! Do t order unless you are hungry! Drinks are sodas and tea only but who cares. The food is just Delta plus awesome.

Fried catfish, baked beans, greens!! Delicious!

It was catfish Friday and the catfish was awesome!! It is a cash only place but that's ok. Everyone was very friendly. It's an older building and might look like something you would drive by, at least from the outside. But it is nice and clean in the inside. It's definitely worth the stop! I had catfish, baked beans and greens! Those were the best greens I've ever eaten!! The place was busy, which was nice to see. If you are in the area or passing thru, give them a try!!

    Best burger in Blytheville.

Local Bar with Massive Rib-eyes…read more Mcadoo's is an experience, and one you should explore if you are in the Blytheville area. I have, over the years, wanted to go and check the place out, but a combination of not being able to find it and not having enough time has always kept me from a visit. During my last visit to Blytheville, a business colleague and I decided to check this infamous establishment out and have a business dinner, beers, and rib-eyes. Mcadoo's is located in central Blytheville, across from the fire station, and it is in a simple metal shack, which can make it hard to find. There are no signs on the building, just the name written on the entrance door. Inside, you find a fully functioning bar with pool tables and plenty of tables to sit at. Mcadoo's has an old-school vibe as the inside is lit up by old-school red lights. Like bars of old, you can smoke inside; keep this in mind if you are a non-smoker or have allergies to smoke. Mcadoo's has a fully stocked bar, but it's mostly known for its rib-eye steaks. Our server came to our table and informed us that they had no apps and that our only options were rib-eye with salad, baked potato, and toast, or rib-eye with toast, as nothing else was available on the menu. The rib-eyes took about twenty minutes to arrive, and they were massive and cooked to perfection. The salad and the baked potato were fresh and okay, but the focus was on the steak. The steaks were juicy and tender, and they were also very affordable. The allure of Mcadoo's is the experience, the full bar and the affordable rib-eyes. It is also a favourite place for locals to hang out. Overall, a good experience and a great rib-eye dinner.

Miss Barbara is a most delightful hostess and owner. Looking for local color? This is the place. The entrance does not face the road so you will have to look for the building that looks like a body shop, but the spacious interior has a big bar and plenty of seating with several pool tables. Clearly this is a neighborhood hangout.

    1. 18% gratuity added to ALL checks, not just large parties. What happened to the days when people…read morehad to earn their tips? This 18% added to every check is pure crap. 2. Food was expensive but delicious. 3. Bartender spent more time texting or facebooking than she did serving her clients. I was ready to order but I had to sit there and watch her doing something on her phone for several minutes before she finally looked up and realized I was looking at her. There were only two of us in the entire restaurant at that time. She brought me my side salad appetizer and I had to sit there staring at my salad until she figured out I had no fork. She was embarrassed and she finally brought me some silverware and a napkin. I had to get up and go get salt and pepper from halfway down the bar. Does this sound like an 18% gratuity was warranted? I paid the bill, but doubtful I'll ever return.

Recenty Renovated…read more I've stayed at the Holiday Inn in Blythville a few tomes over the years. Downstairs they have two restaurants, one is a Perkins and the other is Bistro Eleven 21. The Bistro serves classic American fare and is known locally for it's collection of Craft Beers. The last time I ate here I the hotel was ungoing renovations and we had to eat in one of the conference rooms. Now that the Bistro and the hotel are renovated, I choodse to eat here again. One of my favourite starters at the Bistro is their Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp which I have had countless times. As always it was cooked just right without overcooking the shrimp. For my Mian course I had a grilled 'Chipotle' PorkChop from the new menu. This 14 oz. bone -in Pork chop Chipotle Pork Chop is served frenched and seasoned with chipotle rub then rubbed with creamy bacon and mango sauce and served with herb rice & vegetable du jour. This is a huge meal but worth every penny and a nice change from having barbecue, fish or steak which are my goto's when I travel. The Chop was cooked medium-well but still tender and a bright pink in the center. The cmbined flavours make this a dish I will try again when I'm in the area next.

When we told our server that our food was overcooked she acted like it was the biggest inconvenience in the world that she had to take it back. Had employees pass multiple times and for that 30 minutes we waited didn't get a single refill of drinks even as our server walked past not doing anything. 4 employees were just standing at the counter talking and on their phones. Over all a horrid experience and wish I could get my money back and set an extremely bad example for the brand.

I asked her for coffee creamer, once we waited 15 minutes for someone to show up to our table (no one ever came), and she asked "half and half or freeeeeeench vanilla" and I told her French vanilla. She then walked away, cleaned up a table, and was never seen again. The woman who took our order was pleasant and professional. (She got us the coffee creamer). She seemed to be basically running the whole place herself. She deserves a raise, promotion, or something. Only complaint is, my wife never got any refills on her coffee. Hash-browns were very delicious, and muffin was phenomenal. Country fried steak was underwhelming. Again, our waitress did the best we could ask for, exception to the coffee. They had her doing 20 things at once. All in all, I wouldn't come back.
