It srsly comes straight from the cow or something because it is so freaking fresh!! Passing through Concourse C in mid-July, I was drawn in by the small stand offering samples. Always happy to treat myself, I sampled and ended up buying two chocolate bars which were the Pike Place Espresso and a 1-oz bar of Alaskan Smoked Sea Salt. Both were delightful! The espresso hit with rich depth, and the smoked sea salt bar had that perfect balance of sweet + smoke that lingered just enough. Chocolate is such a sweet treat and I definitely savored the PNW flavors once I got home! What impressed me even more is the story behind the brand. Seattle Chocolate has now rebranded as Maeve Chocolate, and while the name and packaging are new, the ethos remains strong. From what I have learned, it's a woman-owned, ethically driven operation, sourcing cocoa responsibly and 10% of their net profits go to supporting cocoa farmers - projects like digging wells, providing seeds, and creating loan programs so that those growing cocoa beans can thrive! I also looked into their factory and gift shop in Tukwila, which is only about 10 minutes from SEATAC Airport. You can take a guided tour there, learn how they go from bean to bar, and even taste a bunch of flavors along the way. I guess the factory also boasts a showroom of seasonal bars and bonbons which I definitely need to check out the next time I am in Washington! A few more things I loved about my stop at Seattle Chocolate inside of the airport...Their prices were fair given the quality, the bars were well-packaged and the packaging is pretty fun, and the staff at the stand were friendly, helpful, and generous with their samples. Overall, service (5/5 stars) is great and we love the with free samples, ambiance (5/5 stars) is clean and cute although the shop gets crowded quickly, and the chocolate (5/5 stars) is delicious albeit pricy at $31/pound of choose-your-own. This kiosk is at the beginning of the C gates (usually Alaska flights) and is open from 6am-9:30pm so I often pick up chocolate for my in-laws when I visit. Their chocolate is creamier and smoother (think Lindt more so than Ghirardelli) and better than Theo's in our opinion. We usually get the champagne, pink bubbly, mint chip ice cream, and San Juan sea salt for them. We usually do the "make your own mix at $31 per pound (about 38-42 pieces) but they do have assortments you can select from and they often have samples when they roll out new flavors! Personally, I loved the seasonal spring flavor, "Cinnamon Bun Bun" (5/5) which launches next week, really liked the crunchy peanut butter (4.5/5 stars), really liked the malted milk (4.5/5), and liked the hazelnut butter (4/5 stars). read more

Oh boy has this location changed! So disappointing :( Great that some samples are still offered but the level of customer service has declined incredibly. Note that if you would like to purchase truffles, there is now a minimum as the scale apparently doesn't read weight at any less than 4. Hidden gem in the Sea-Tac airport, right after security near gate C2. I was initially drawn into this little shop because of their colorful display of chocolates. They have so many different chocolate truffle flavors to choose from, including both dark chocolate and milk chocolate options. I love that they provide bags for customers to fill with their own mix of individually-wrapped chocolates. Bags are priced by weight, at $2.12/oz or $34/lb. Their creamy chocolate truffles have a deliciously soft center that melts in your mouth. My favorite flavor was their hazelnut butter crisp (milk chocolate with hazelnut butter and rice crisps), but I also enjoyed their malted milk ball (milk chocolate with malted milk and rice crisps), moon rocks (milk chocolate with popping candy), and birthday cake (milk chocolate shell and white chocolate center flavored with birthday cake, vanilla frosting, and confetti sprinkles). My only regret was not buying more of these. If you find yourself at Sea-Tac wanting to buy a gift for your loved ones or for yourself, do yourself a favor and try these chocolate truffles! Last minute gift from Seattle for loved ones back home? If you're in Concourse C at SEA, get Seattle Chocolate. Honestly, Concourse C is where I did most of my last-minute vacation shopping- from this little shop to the Elliot Bay Book Company. I will 100% be back to visit their actual locations next time I'm in Seattle but the chocolate & book I got will have to hold me over until then. Although small, this shop carries such an array of beautiful chocolates. From the packaging to the flavors, I could do some serious damage to my wallet here... but not really because it's super affordable. The two ladies helping customers were so helpful and knowledgeable about the chocolates. You can take a bag and fill it with their individually wrapped chocolates ranging in flavors like Espresso, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Mint Chip, and Hazelnut Butter Crisp and they price it by weight. Another option for this is to get a small or bigger box and pay a fixed price to fill it up with as much of those wrapped chocolates as can fit! I do regret not doing this because I didn't want to get too much chocolate and had my eyes on some of the bars. I ended up getting at least one piece of each chocolate flavor available and two bars. One big bar of the Hazelnut Butter Crisp (my favorite) and one of the smaller bars in their specialty flavors, jcoco, in Black Fig Pistachio. Seattle Chocolate, you have my lil chocoholic heart. Collecting local chocolates will now be another tradition I will be doing when I travel and I'm so happy you inspired that. read more

I purchased 6-8 bars from this company and today when I opened one, there were maggots or worms crawling on them. Not just 1, most of them. I opened every single bar, each a different flavor, and found maggots/worms on and in 5 or 6 them. I will not be purchasing from this company again. read more

I was waiting for my friend to arrive on a different flight when I stumbled upon this sweet shop (no pun intended). One of the shop assistant ladies welcomed me and let me look around. She then asked me which chocolate I prefer: milk or dark. I answered that I like milk. She graciously offered me one of the individually wrapped chocolate candies that they sell. It was so delicious! I didn't expect such a high quality chocolate from an airport shop. I selected several chocolate bars for purchase - tough choice! They have many unique flavors and the packaging is very stylish. (One of those I picked is with fog and pistachio - looking forward to try it!) The lady gave me more of their chocolate candies as a gift with my chocolate bars purchase. Such a perfect cute place! Always have to get me some Seattle Chocolates whenever I'm here. Located in the C concourse. This is a small little storefront filled with chocolate bars, truffles, boxes and sets. I always grab a baggy and fill it up with assorted truffles. I get most of the milk chocolate flavors because I'm not a fan of dark chocolate. Milk chocolate flavors I love are san juan sea salt, hazelnut butter, mint, milk chocolate, birthday cake batter, peanut butter, and malted milk ball. Kind of pricy, but worth it! This is a cute, bright, and well-organized airport mini-shop near the C concourse. Service is so pleasant and efficient!! I needed some last-minute souvenirs, including something for a person with peanut and tree-nut allergies. I bought 1 small and 1 medium sized bags of the individual chocolates. They taste amazing- I tried one of each: blackberry creme and a milk chocolate. One of the attendants helped me check the allergen labels. The chocolates were really good, but I'm not sure I'd buy them typically at this cost. $21 is steep, but I was in a rush. A solid 4 stars though. 17.5 hour day of traveling & fielding... 2 hour layover at Sea-Tac... you can't say "no" passing by & being asked to try a free sample! Well, that sample sucked me in! And, it was GOOD. Because dark chocolate isn't my favorite- I prefer milk. But, the sea salt dark chocolate hooked me. And let's be clear- it's ALL good! There are about 20 different flavors. I highly doubt any are less than delectable. And, I can vouch for about 10 of them, now, LOL! The prices aren't bad, either, especially for the airport! They have pre-packaged varieties, other chocolate bars & such. Or, you can fill your own custom bag of choice from the bins. I opted for the latter (obviously) and was quite surprised when the cost was just as much as the pre-packaged (and I even got MORE than the pre-filled)! The ladies that work there are very sweet & helpful. They also provide gloves to select out of the bins as a sanitary measure, and only allow one customer at a time in the small store, so they're following protocols very well. I accidentally dropped one piece on the floor, and she was quick to dispose of it! They aren't taking any chances, and that is appreciated. But the chocolate is SO good! Worth every penny. I highly recommend grabbing some, even for a gift. It's hard to say which flavor is better because all of them are addicting. I had intentions of sharing this bag w/ my co-works after returning from my fielding travels... kind of thinking that may not happen after all. LOL! read more

I fell in love with the tasty truffles from Seattle Chocolates a few years ago when I was served a few of them while on an Alaska Airlines flight. When I found out that a shop was opening at SeaTac Airport late 2017, I made sure I would stop by while connecting to another flight during Thanksgiving travel. I actually stopped by here twice - first time on the way to visit family, and then again on the trip back home. First impression - the shop takes up a very small footprint - but it really makes use of all the spaces it has. A visually-pleasing array of chocolate bars, truffles and gift bags/boxes align the walls of their small shop. The open-display rack of their most popular truffle flavors is eye-catching, and there are little bowls of samples (don't forget to use the tongs!) for some of their most popular flavors. Service is always great - the gals offered me the opportunity to sample any truffle on the display rack that they didn't already have a sample bowl for. My favorite flavors from the Truffle Rack ($24/lb.): San Juan Sea Salt - milk chocolate and bits of sea salt and toffee. You can tell from the bag I bought, it makes up the majority of the flavors. Hot Buttered Rum - milk chocolate - tastes like butterscotch candy. Toffee - milk chocolate and toffee bits. Champagne - this one took me by surprise - it's dark chocolate with bits of "pop rocks" that sparkle and explode in your mouth. It's nice to be able to get their truffles fresh from their store, rather than shipping it and risk having the chocolates melt by the time they get to you. I have no frck'n idea if this review will get posted, to where, and whether. But if it does; this is the best chocolate I have ever had and if you don't forward to Food Network, Diner's Club and Esquire (along with Martha Stewart), you are crazy! They take chocolate to a different dimension; HOW? How about after the first 3 little squares, you actually slow down in order to enjoy. Need more culinary detail? I had one square of this unknown chocolate from a Christmas stocking. Tasted it and immediate devoured square 2. After square 3 I looked at the wrapper and said: Remember Seattle Chocolate. Then I had the 4th real slow to enjoy while I finished cleaning the kitchen. Wife walks in and I say "hey taste this". After a bite her eyes light up and says "umm, a bit salty, creamy, mild chocolate flavor, rich with a deep peanut taste". I said yeah - I thought the same thing. I bought one of the mint chocolate bars on a whim. I had just gotten my taste and smell back after losing it for over a year. It was the most amazing taste of chocolate I have ever had. Father's Day was two weeks away and I bought my father, step-father, husband and son the 10 stack of chocolate bars to be delivered across many states. The bars have been loved, so it was not my imagination! However, my sons bars were never delivered, or rather delivered to the wrong address or something (blaming the delivery company). Seattle Chocolate Company fixed the delivery problem and have been nothing be wonderful!
