Super friendly staff. They were super attentive and willing to answer any and every question I had. And they offered samples of multiple different chocolate bars. Very interesting and unique flavors. I went for the collaboration with Dungeon Crawler Carl, which was amazing. Not only was there a special chocolate bar that they had for the collab but they also had a corner decorated in the theme of the book and stickers of characters from the book. It was fantastic. Walking into Maeve Chocolate felt like stepping straight into Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. The whole place smells like warm chocolate and sugar, and it honestly feels a little magical the second you walk in. We attended their Valentine's Day workshop "The Key To Your Heart" which is a box puzzle game with two boxes of chocolates as the prize. The puzzles to unlock the box were slightly challenging and fun! The crew has put a lot of thoughts in it! Highly recommend this activity! The shop is very welcoming with lots of cute and colorful decorations. The staff kindly offered us two different types of chocolate for tasting and mentioned that we could try either one. I chose one to start, and it was smooth, rich, and not overly sweet. After that, we continued browsing and picked out about $80 worth of chocolates to bring home. When we went to pay, I decided to try the second flavor that was still available for sampling. As I reached for it, a staff made a comment about me going for my second piece. It caught me a little off guard. Considering we had just purchased a fairly generous amount, it felt unnecessary to point it out. Maeve Chocolates is a woman-owned business. I also believe about 75% of their employees are women. That is amazing! There is so much warmth and culture from this company. The tour was about 60 minutes long. It includes some education about cocoa beans, sourcing, and a factory tour. And of course there are a lot of taste testing done along the way! This company and their chocolate are amazing! Who doesn't love to eat tasty treats, learn a bit, and support a good cause all at the same time? Well, that can happen here. Maeve Chocolate (Seattle Chocolate Company) ethically sources their cacao from farmers, and then turns around and donates a portion of their profits back to support those farmers. Amazing! We're not a milk chocolate household but the milk chocolate at Maeve is seriously so good. So chocolatey and creamy! The dark chocolate is the star though. It's fudgey and creamy and perfect. The flavors and branding artwork that are part of the Maeve brand are so fun and colorful! I wanted to buy them all. The Creme Brulee and coffee infused bars are my favorites. The other brand they make, jcoco, is higher-end Peruvian chocolate and has some truly interesting flavor combinations - like smoked sea salt, a white chocolate with orange and Cayenne, and quinoa sesame. We visited the Seattle Chocolate factory tour (now as Maeve Chocolate). You need to reserve your spot online beforehand, and we joined the 2 p.m. tour on a Saturday. Since the factory machines don't run on weekends, we didn't get to see them in action. However, the tour was still very enjoyable. Highly recommend! The experience started in a tasting room where we learned about the entire chocolate-making journey, from sourcing cacao beans at the farm and fermentation to the final production steps. Our tour guide passed around byproducts from each stage, like cacao bean shells and cocoa butter, while explaining the process. We also watched an informative video with more visuals about the company's history. Next, we visited the factory floor, where our guide gave a detailed explanation of what goes on at each station. After the tour, we got to the best part: sampling the chocolate! We did a fun blind tasting where we guessed the ingredients before they revealed which product it was. We also got to sample some of their famous chocolates throughout the tour. Overall, I learned a lot and was very happy with how much chocolate we got to sample! read more

I finally made it to the factory! Now known as Maeve, they still had the same great creations, just a different name. Upon walking in, the guy was friendly, explaining some of the basics. I happily customized my own bag with truffles (now called bon bons) and also made a small boxed gift for someone else with 17 truffles (one of each kind). As for my own, I stuck with my favorite peanut butter and added in some other flavors I was curious about. Behind the glass window was where those who signed up for the tour were sitting and hopefully indulging in a lot of chocolate. I didn't get the chance to join one today but possibly next time I'm in town. Free parking out front was plentiful, and if you're there on Saturday, they supposedly heavily discount the former 'Seattle Chocolate' branded items that I wish were available all week, so you're going to get a great deal. read more

Drove to what was Seattle Chocolate to find they changed names and updated their packaging. I was told the chocolates were the same as before, so I began making bags of the individual chocolates. I made 3 bags and went to pay, my total was $76, I was going to pay cash as I am traveling and have multiple hold on my cards for hotels and rental car. In any case, I was informed that they only had $100 bank and couldn't make change for my $100 bill. This is unfortunate, as I left without chocolates and they lost a sale. I stopped by here by chance. The parking lot is around the store. From the outside, it feels like you can't tell it's a chocolate store at all. But there was a Seattle chocolate sign at the entrance. There were quite a few people inside the store, and I found out later that there was the chocolate factory tour. I thought I'd like to join the tour next time. I looked around the store slowly, but it was hard to choose because there were various kinds of chocolate with very fun packaging and unusual combinations. After much hesitation, I first chose five flavors I wanted to try from Minibar Chocolate. And I got a package for five of those minibars. It's cute like a mini book. While on vacation we visited this factory, we did the tour and learned some new things about chocolate and where it comes from. My family and I really enjoyed the tour, highly recommend, especially if you have the tour guide named Blaze. Blaze was great, energetic and fun!!! He made the tour; for sure. The store was small but very cutely decorated for Christmas. The displays of their chocolate were pleasing to the eye and they had some lovely options for gift purchasing. The chocolates were delightful and they had some unique flavors that I wasn't so sure about but they ended up being very good. If you are in the area, definitely check it out. My husband surprised me for my birthday by taking me here for three Seattle Chocolate tour and it was so much fun! We drove and they have a parking lot. We did the 10am on a Tuesday tour and it ended up being just us which was pretty cool! Our tour host was Caleb and he was soo nice! We really enjoyed our tour with him! The tour: Starts with some intro videos and a little chocolate tasting to start - some heated chocolate in a cup and some cocoa nibs. Both very tasty. Then we started the factory tour - which doesn't allow phones, glass, gum or personal belongings - they have lockers you can put everything in and they give hairnets. It was really cool to see the behind the scenes of everything being made. The final part was the tasting and also my favorite part! We got to try a nice variety of their different chocolates and all had a really diverse flavor! So much fun trying to guess the flavors and tasting notes. Afterwards, we went shopping in their store which has a ton of different chocolates! We bought some gifts for family and of course some chocolate for ourselves. Their store is super cute! Staff is friendly and welcoming and it's such a fun experience just to come and check out all of the different chocolate flavors available! 10/10 would come for their other events and to get more chocolate! You can be a literal kid in a candy store! But, the man at check-out killed the whole thing with his serious mean girl vibes. Oof. I did enjoy the first half where a nice man showed me the ropes and I then spent a lot of time making a giant bag full of chocolate in a colorful chocolate wonderland. But then I had to contend with the check-out man and I truly regret that I didn't stop the sale and leave empty-handed. The chocolates aren't at all luscious and addictive like they used to be. So I'm just left with the very negative memory of the Mean Girl. As a Seattle native, I never knew Seattle Chocolates had a factory tour. The experience was pretty pleasant, they gave you a bit of a history lesson, but it was interactive throughout. Our tour guide was also very friendly and answered all our questions. I don't remember her name, but she was passionate about her job. I think that's why our tour was pretty good. If you like chocolates you will get to try out different kinds throughout the experience and learn about the differences between them. Pretty cool stuff! I have been a fan of Seattle chocolates since I was in high school. Pro tip, Saturdays they offer bags of "imperfect " chocolate for around $11 , it's a steal! Only downside is you never know what flavors will be available. The quality of Seattle chocolates is good and their ethics are notable as well. 10% of their proceeds go to a charity. I have since moved away from Seattle, however whenever I am in town I try to stop by and stock up! read more

This is for their Factory Tour. Went on a Saturday and had a great experience. There is no production on Friday or Saturday so you will not see people working but we knew that when booking. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. You start in their classroom then take the factory tour and then back to classroom for tasting. We learned about the cacao plant and tasted truffles, solid bars and truffle bars and used our taste buds to see what flavor notes we could pick out. I think our tour guides name was Dani. They were fun, knowledgeable and passionate about chocolate. You get a 10% discount on purchases after the tour and if you go on certain Saturday's they have their "seconds" sale and you can get a pound of chocolate for $10. She had such a positive attitude and really made the tour fun to follow along. I love supporting local businesses and found out this one is actually woman-owned so that makes it even better! We really enjoyed the hour long tour and all it taught us. We came on a Saturday which is when they have their factory seconds sale weekly. $10 bags of a lot of different chocolates. This place has great chocolates and a real Seattle connection. They have partnered with Pearl Jam, Marshawn Lynch (Beast Mode) and Alaska Airlines for specialty chocolate offerings. We ended up getting about $85 worth of chocolates with the build your own, the factory seconds, Christmas specials, and some other exotic flavors. They really have a lot of flavors to choose from and have mostly truffles in both bars and singles and have their sub brand called JCOCO, which is more specialty flavors, etc. A great Insta-ready lobby with great photo ops. Nope, didn't go to Seattle recently. I did pay (overpaid!) for a Seattle Chocolate Company Pike Place Espresso Dark Chocolate Truffle Bar (with decaf espresso) at a candy place in Studio City over the weekend. Actually held out for two days before peeling open the bar and trying it. WOW! That is quite the delicious chocolate treat! Very smooth and elegant, not too sweet, and that smart espresso taste that carries through the melting sensation. Lots of interesting info on the back of the label. The company is Woman Owned. I see from their website that they are extremely creative in coming up with new flavors, including seasonally. Will have to check out which other vegan choices they offer. Non-GMO-Certified, Rainforest Alliance member, vegan, gluten free, and only 180 calories for half the 2.5 ounce bar. I'm sold! read more

I can't believe I have not written a review on my favorites chocolates. I've been here 5 times in the past 2 years when we are in Seattle area, I even order on-line. This is my favorite chocolate truffle, I'm definitely hooked on the mexican chocolate, bubbly and champagne (all dark chocolates). But during the holidays they had candy cane and this blew me away, was trying to order more online but it was sold out. Hope they bring it back next christmas 2024. Their truffles will last up to a year, so obviously I stock up since we do not live in state. If you ever there on a saturday take advantage of their special $10.00 bags of chocolate that did not make the cut, I've caught this special once and it was amazing, the price and amount you get for $10 is such a deal. The store is really cute and typical PNW style, colorful and bright. The cute pig at the front is a cutie to take a picture with and not to mention they also have a selfie wall. They do chocolate factory tours but I've never been on one, maybe when we not stopping by and rushing I'll plan to squeeze in a tour one day. The only downside to this factory location is the vibe walking in is not so welcoming, sometimes we get a hello and sometimes not, sometimes we get asked if we need help and sometimes not, sometimes we don't get help but the person after us does? Its a strange customer service vibe in this place. We raved to our friends about coming here for Halloween. It's family friendly, plus getting to leave with chocolate is always a bonus! We found the check in process for the Haunted Chocolate Factory tour to be easy. The tour itself was so much fun, with just the right amount of spooky.
