In a day of slick operators, this is a repair company that is kind, understanding and worked by down to earth people who seek nothing other than your satisfaction and an honest day's wages. I've had on car's transmission fixed there, and the were able to do a $600 repair for us, whereas another slicker place put my car through a $40,000 diagnostic machine --or so they said--and for a $100 fee evcentually told me I needed a new transmission for ...what was it, $4000 or much more, as I recall. Mag-Co's lot is handily located in a nice area of Broomfield, and if the lot looks kind of unimpressive from the street, well, don't be fooled. This is a place where real work goes on, with no fluff and BS. The shop is run by a nice fellow who took over an existing business, which he now runs with his daughter as office assistant, and they have a heck of a crew, just as honest and efficient and reasonable as the former crew--if not the same. Mag-Co said 3 times that they were going to complete a diagnostic of my GMC sierra 1500. they started the diagnostic on Tuesday and charged me $85 despite never finishing the diagnostic. I then had to pay $200 to tow my truck to a shop that would actually answer my call and actually finish figuring out what was wrong with the vehicle that I need in order to make a living. Long story short, I dont trust ANYONE with my car. I've been ripped off and lied to by so many mechanics before. I've had nothing but lemons for cars. So you can imagine my frustration when my 2010 Hyundai engine was knocking and about to throw a rod. After 2 diagnoses that I needed an engine replacement and a 5,000$ quote from the dealership in boulder (who I dont trust as far as i can throw them) I decided to let my car sit for 11 months. I just threw my hands up in the air and said "I give up". Well, after a long year without a car I finally had the finances to get a new engine. So I called around to EIGHT maybe nine different places, ranging from boulder to Longmont and finally broomfield. Some of them I could tell were trying to jerk me around. After several quotes ranging between $5000 and $6200 and talking to multiple mechanics, my last call was to Mag-co. Joel answered the phone with such a genuine spirit! He answered all my questions with a confidence I hadn't heard from the handful of shops I called before. He explained everything in detail, gave me plentiful advice on replacing my engine, and then offered me a smoking deal for a used engine replacement. A quote that I could afford and feel good about! When I arrived at the shop to drop my car off I noticed the mechanics were much older than I have seen in other shops. Usually I see punk a** kids that aren't even 25 yet working on the cars. Anyway, these men appeared to be very well seasoned and experienced. The car I had put a deposit on turned out to have compression issues (big problem) and they caught some repair work that the seller had specifically said had never been done (there was clearly an accident and seller was claiming no accidents). I am not sure about the quality of their automotive service but their customer service was awful. I went in to ask about transmission diagnostics if the transmission was not on the car. I started out talking to a mechanic, I think? But he was shortly replaced by someone else and the first guy went away. I was assuming that this new guy was better informed on the style of transmission I was talking about. This quickly went away when he started talking about what condition the torque converter may be in. I know I never said I was working with a manual transmission but I had given the model of the transmission and it is only a truck manual transmission. It turns out that this was the guy who discusses money, he however does not know transmission, I am not sure how he can quote prices on a product he does not know. When I confronted him on this he became very rude and suggested that I take my business elsewhere. No problem you will not see at your door again. read more

I dropped my car off first thing in the morning to get its transmission serviced, along with a regular oil change. They promised to have it done by about noon, no later than 2pm. The total was a reasonable, competitive price. About two hours later at 10am, they called me up. "I don't know who you talked to when they quoted you," the guy on the phone started. My stomach dropped and I got ready to get really, really angry at whatever new, outrageous price they were now expecting me to pay. "It's actually going to be about $50 cheaper than what they'd said." They were able to finish the work about 2 hours ahead of their earliest estimate, and for cheaper too. Not to mention the guys just being ridiculously nice and professional. As long as I live in the area or drive through here, this will be my go-to car place for all my car maintenance. read more

Joel and his team have been dealing with my Big Red and now has my hubby's (had him switch to Mag-Co) Caddie now for almost 2 years. How I Found Mag-Co Car Care ......... My Big Red was broken down for about 3 weeks and I been calling around to find out what may be wrong with her. Every shop I spoken to told me it was a head-gasket (quotes ranging from $4000-$10,000). When I called Mag-CO (now price shopping) I told Joel it was a hand-gasket and was just asking for a quote. I did describe the issue to Joel and he blow my mind in telling me that it may not be a head-gasket and it sound like it maybe a common problem that he has fixed in the past (this showed experiences). He did say he'll have to still look at it to be sure; I was just so excited to hear that it maybe something else and what a price differences too. That I was willing to give Joel's shop a chance; past reviews did help me in making the decision to tow my truck 26.3 miles one way from my home and I'm TRULY HAPPY I did.
