Just wanted dinner but was treated to a bad evening. A mom with 2 kids and a baby were treated badly by the manager. A waitress asked to hold the baby the mom was nice and said yes then another waitress asked the mom her name the next thing the police came and called the mom by her name and asked her to come outside the mom went without trouble and a another police officer came and talked to the kids not friendly the police didn't keep the mom or kids the 2nd waitress said the manager called the police she paid and was made as were we to have a nice night ruined i will tell my friends and anyone with kids do not eat there read more

You have to try this place! We arrived right before closing and they said please come in. I wanted the all you can eat catfish but with the restaurant closing soon, I was unsure if that was a choice. The waitress said it was not a problem and brought me extra catfish with my initial plate. It was enough for me and was so nice of her to do that!! Great home cooking place and for us, close by and convenient. The chicken fried steak won't ever beat Weazy's but sometimes Weazy's isn't open and you've burned 5000 calories on an all day house clean out powered by water and yogurt. First off very rude when we walked in. The service was horrible and the food was served cold and drowning in grease. I got the chicken fried steak there was hardly any meat just breading with grease pooling on top. My daughter got the chicken and mushrooms, again grease everywhere but what chicken she could eat had good flavor. Frozen fried pickles, frozen fries, frozen okra, high priced frozen food cooked poorly. The only thing they have going for them is their rolls, except they were cold. read more

Had a lunch meeting here today with a party of six. We were able to put some tables together for some extra distancing. The place was clean, and the staff was down right Texas friendly. They offered us a lunch menu as well as a regular menu. They have plenty of great choices. I picked the blackened cod served on a bed of rice along with green beans and steamed squash. Everything I had was delicious. They brought out some fresh warm rolls along with some soft honey butter. All I can say about that is OMG !!! Everyone enjoyed their food. Traveling through town and met some family at Magel's for lunch. Our server was quick and courteous. The food was all very good. We had Chicken fried steak, Texas Jack chicken breast, and the catfish. The tarter sauce was amazing, best I have ever had, and the catfish was done perfectly. I will be eating here again, this place is a jewel. If you are traveling through Paris at mealtime, stop and enjoy. read more

WOW, Awesomeness is the best word to use! Had the filet one of the best filets ever. And when they say Texas does everything BIG oh my goodness the salad was BIG and the filet was BIG too ! First we had a 45 minute wait no big deal but you weren't allowed to wait at the bar. So we just set there. When are table was ready we were seated by a large party. We were seated and given the menu. 20 minutes later still have not even been greeted by our waitress. They seat another party across from us and in less than 5 minutes the waitress gets there drinks and takes there order. My husband we are ready to order . I selected Griiled Tilapia from the menu because I have cooked Tilapia myself and know it is light and mild. The Tilapia I was served here, however, was very small and was loaded with grease. It was quite burned on one side, so that further reduced the amount of tilapia for me to eat for lunch. I ordered a side salad, but the waitress brought a serving of fried okra instead. When I picked up the plate, I was surprised to find the plate itself was too hot to touch. I had asked for a salad with French dressing, but when the salad finally came, it was served with cocktail sauce (the kind shrimp is dipped in) instead of French dressing. The broccoli was one big, hard stalk, totally uncooked. I took it with me to cook at home. My date got the chopped steak. He said it wasn't very good and took most of it home to feed to his dog. During the night, I got indigestion that kept me awake for hours. The waitress didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about how the food was going to be cooked. Find somewhere else to spend your money!!! The waitress Tessa was such a snot i would never come back. Practically threw the plates of food On the table. Acted as if we were interrupting her. None of staff was wearing masks. Did not see any hand sanitizer being used. Had cod and friend had a burger. We had to ask and then wait for ketchup. Passing through the area and stopped at a nearby hotel for the night. Hotel clerk suggested this restaurant as it was only a couple of parking lots over. Our group started off with fried pickles and fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were good. The pickles not so much. They were more like cooked pickle slices with the occasional bit of breading attached. For dinner we got chicken tenders, pasta with shrimp, a pair of ribeyes, and pasta marinara with chicken. I got the blue bbq bacon burger. I enjoyed the burger. It had good flavor. The fries were no a great offering though as they were on the soggy side. One ribeye was excellent. The other ribeye was good but had a little more fat on it. On the pasta with shrimp, the shrimp was good, but the pasta was a bit on the cool side. Chicken fingers were perfectly fine. Pasta marinara was considered good. It may have been because I was starving, but these were some damn fine steak fajitas. I'm not sure what I was expecting when we pulled up to Magel's but I tend to trust Yelp when I'm travelling and in this case I'm glad that I did. They have a very diverse menu (everyone will be happy) and what we tasted was really good. Personally, I recommend the fajitas since that is what we got to have, but I'm sure it's all pretty good, average American food. That being said, they lost a star for slow, inattentive waitstaff. The waitress was nice when she was there, but we were constantly looking for her and service was slow. Also, they're closed on Sundays?! I was shocked by this as we wanted to grab lunch here before we left town. Oh well, lost business. read more

Completely bad experience. It is not busy so there is no justification of such a bad experience. Lackluster service and bad food. Food took 22 minutes to arrive and it arrives cold. With a less than attentive wait staff it took 15 more to send it back. Microwave and returned. Still was far from a good meal. No manager in sight. No oversight no leadership.
