I booked my appointment with Maggie Louise back in December for the first weekend in April. Needless to say, Covid-19 forced us to cancel... I was a little frantic at first being that our wedding is the first weekend in September - but Carolyn and the staff were so receptive and helpful throughout the entire wait. They called me as soon as we were able to reschedule (unlike other places that I had to call several times), and they truly made me a priority! Although my family couldn't visit from out of town as planned due to the virus, I was still able to make the most of our search, plus the options Carolyn had set for me were perfect! I tried on about two dozen dresses, in a handful of other shops in the Memphis metro area and none of them had what I was looking for. A coworker recommended Maggie Louise and wow! Molly called to do a brief phone consultation a week or so before my appointment--to go over what styles I'd be interested in, she was attentive and asked lots of questions. She definitely listened to what I was looking for because the exact styles I love were waiting for me when I arrived at my appointment; Molly had arranged the dresses that most fit my description upfront. This review is way over due, I have been so busy that I couldn't do it until now. Firstly, this is for Ellie (she's a champ)! I originally had an appointment made a month in advance for April 4. If you know anything about Maggie Louise is that they stay booked. However, at the last minute I received a travel contract and I needed to be in Louisiana on the Sunday prior to my appointment. I knew I couldn't miss it because Maggie Louise is the only store in Memphis that carries my favorite wedding designer "Berta"). So, I called the store to explain my situation, I was told there was nothing they could do. I was devastated (I know I sound a little dramatic but, I really was). I told myself I would need Plan B. Then Ellie called back and said she was able to move some things around (she decided not to go see her sister) and said these exact words "I know that we have your dress." Not only did she go above and beyond over the phone but my appointment with her was just as great. During my appointment she was very engaging. My friend was a little late so Ellie took it upon herself to be my cheerleader. She took pictures to help me compare the dresses. She propped up my phone so that my wedding planner could participate in the process. This experience was amazing but most importantly, I found my dress. I loved everything about my experience here. The space is pristine, Molly is a treasure, and the dresses were gorgeous. THIS is what shopping for a bridal gown should feel like. The store is by appointment, so when I walked in Molly greeted me by name. There were mini cupcakes and champagne waiting for us. Because she had taken so much time to get to know me on the phone when I made the appointment, she'd already pulled some dresses she thought I'd like. We walked through the rest of the store together, pulled out a few more and got started! I can't stress enough what a wonderful experience it was. She offered expertise and advice when I needed it but didn't insist on giving me her opinion on every dress (which, as I've come to realize, makes things awkward when your consultant says she doesn't like a dress and you think it could be the one!). She was pleasant but not pushy, warm but professional. And because it was a calm, quiet store w/o tons of other brides around I felt totally free to take in the experience and have fun! Also, the studio space she has feels incredibly upscale, but I was shocked to find out how reasonably priced the dresses were. Best of both worlds! Maggie Louise is the premiere place to go in Memphis if you are on the hunt for a wedding dress! My mom and I looked at a few other local stores before stepping into Maggie Louise, and let me tell you - the experiences were drastically different! I live in Atlanta, so my wedding trips to Memphis were time sensitive and we always had to cram a lot of activities into each visit home. Molly was gracious enough to let me and my mom come into the store before she even officially opened! I guess you could say that I was Maggie Louise's first bride! From the moment we walked in, I felt a sense of calm that I did not have at the other bridal stores that I visited. There were not multiple consultants fluttering around, processing the plethora of brides streaming in and out of the doors. There weren't large groups all over the salon floor fighting to view racks of dresses and claim dressing rooms. All I saw was a tranquil, beautiful, white salon with chilled champagne and miniature desserts. This is definitely the way to calm a bride down during the dress shopping process! Molly was a complete professional from the beginning. She called me before my arrival in Memphis and we talked over the type of gown I was looking for. When I arrived at the salon, she had many gowns ready and waiting for me to try on. Since ML only allows one appointment at a time, I was at ease trying on gowns with just my mother and grandmother in tow. I never felt pressure from Molly to make a decision or pick something that I was not comfortable with, and she opened my eyes to new possibilities that I never even knew existed (changing the "white color" of a dress, adding a sash - who knew!)! At the end of our session, we purchased my perfect dress and Molly was there for me even after we signed the paperwork. She answered a few frantic emails about color, design, etc., and she even provided us the name of a great alterations woman who brought all of the details of my dress together for the big day. I had an amazing experience choosing my wedding dress at Maggie Louise!! I live in San Francisco and traveled to shop with my parents who live in Memphis, and Molly and Lauren made the trip(s!) 100% worth it!! The salon is small, intimate, and so calming- I felt at ease the moment I walked in. I was pretty unsure what I wanted in a dress, and on my first visit Lauren had pulled dresses in a bunch of styles, fits, and embellishments. She was incredibly helpful as I narrowed down my preferences and picked a few gowns myself. Meanwhile, my mom, dad, and sister enjoyed a bottle of sparkling wine and browsed the gowns and accessories. On my first visit, I fell in love with a Paloma Blanca gown, but wasn't ready to commit just yet. I felt no pressure from Molly or Lauren, and went home to sleep on the decision. Later that night, while looking on the designer's website, I saw a slightly different version of the dress that fit more of what I was looking for. Molly and Lauren went out of their way to request the dress from the designer and set up a second appointment for me to try it on. After ALL that, on my second visit, I ended up loving the very first dress I tried on in my first appointment- Just goes to show what great taste Molly and Lauren have :) Even through all of my indecision and special requests, Lauren and Molly were totally accommodating and completely understood what an important decision I was making. I could not disagree more with the review below. Maggie Louise is by FAR the most classy bridal shop I have ever stepped foot in! I went in the first time to just look and Molly went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. She never once tried to just throw a dress in my hand and scoot me out the door. She let us take our time and when we left, I told her that we would be in touch! After looking at other places, I decided to go back to Maggie Louise and buy the dress that I fell in love with! I also found several belts to go with my dress, but Molly said I could wait closer to time to buy it, etc. She is definitely interested in what you want and she has a GIFT for it! After two average wedding dress shops, I decided to try this place out after having heard so many RAVE about it! I was BLOWN AWAY from the beginning. I first had a phone consult about my dream dress. They also have you share your Pinterest with them so they can see what you envision. The store is GORGEOUS. When I walked in they had pulled six gowns. I was excited, but didn't actually think I'd buy a dress the day of. I mean how is it even possible for someone to find a dress you've dreamt of your life in 2 hours. I had the BEST TIME. I had an amazing time shopping for my wedding gown at Maggie Louise! When you come in for your appointment you have Molly's full attention, she only takes one client at a time. She is extremely patient! I tried on every style I thought I might want and retry on the final choices over and over again. This was the first (and only) bridal salon I went to. She will set up a phone call with you for about a week before your appointment so that she can learn what styles you like and pull dresses accordingly. You are welcome to try on all the dresses in the store, not just the ones she pulls. The store design is very cute too! I could not rate Maggie Louise or Molly high enough! When wedding dress shopping for my little sister, it was anything but a great experience. We would walk into a bridal store, may or may not get greeted by anyone, and then have to struggle to search for the "perfect dress" that was shoved into a bag. When it was my turn to search for a wedding dress, I was not excited at all. I dreaded going from store to store and seeing the same dresses that were displayed at all bridal stores, and then have to negotiate for a fair price. When I called and made an appointment with Molly, she not only asked what I wanted in a wedding dress, but also for wedding as a whole. I sent her my pinterest board titled "My Dream Gown". I wanted my sister to go with me, but both of our work schedules were conflicting. Molly offered to keep her store open a little later just so I could come. When I walked in, she had already picked out dresses (within my budget) that she thought I would really like based on what I told her I wanted + my pinterest board. I loved almost every dress that she picked out, but it was the 4th or 5th one I put when I knew it was the one! Maggie Louise was the first store I went to, and tried on very few dresses before I was sold! She made everything so easy for me. She was so kind, and made sure I was so comfortable and happy! Aside from unsurpassable customer service, her store is absolutely gorgeous! She made me feel so beautiful, and treated me like I was the only bride she had!
