Other than that the bed was very comfortable, but I never saw a Roku TV where you need a code to add your own apps. The notes tell you to take the garbage out but don't tell you what cabin it's near. The location is good and I would still come here now that I know more about it.

The living room only had a couch and a chair which could not seat all 6 in our party. The chairs at the dining room table were worn out and uncomfortable. We want to come back again with our families- the game room downstairs would be a great spot for the teens (& husbands) and there were more beds in the loft that we didn't even use. This is our second visit to Lost Cove and we do not plan to look elsewhere and we plan to return yearly. It would be very hard to find a cleaner, well managed house in a rental. Tom and Kelly paid very close to ever detail in this rental and it offers so many amenities that most do not. It very clear that they want their guests to have the best experience they could have and we have always had just that. The entire atmosphere is just what you would want when you visit the mountains and the view is awesome. It is hand down the cleanest rentals I have ever had. The drive up the mountainside was beautiful (and slightly scary) but oh-so worth it! I was relieved to have made it through the weekend without a flat tire considering the gravel roads we had to trek up to get to the cabin and to the beautiful hiking spots nearby. We made the whole trip in a Honda Accord but with the knowledge we have now, we'd likely get a more rugged rental car for our next visit. As for the cabin...right away I was in awe of how cute and cozy the whole cabin/property was! The cabin was perfectly stocked with everything you'd need for two guests (planning to share a comfortable queen-sized bed) - soap, towels, linens, dishes, silverware, etc. Everything you'd have to bring on your own was very explicitly and clearly stated on their website so we were more than prepared for the weekend trip. I've always loved the idea of "glamping" in a furnished cabin and this was everything and more. The cabin was decked out with new kitchen appliances, a toaster, plenty of pots and pans, drinking glasses, cooking spices, a clean stove top, washer/dryer, spacious shower with benches, outdoor grill, new bath vanity, adjustable TV, fireplace and easily-adjustable air conditioning unit with an electronic thermostat right on the wall. The outdoor patio had a table with bench seats and grill supplies such as an extra tank of propane, a lighter, a spatula and tongs. There was also a nice rocking bench fit for two, a fenced in yard for the pups and a cute little doggy door with a ramp leading straight from the patio to the yard. And saving the best for the last, the patio included a spacious private hot tub! Throughout the cabin, there were friendly, clearly written tips/instructions posted to remind you of how to adjust the thermostat, what settings to keep for the hot tub and how to use the washer/dryer, etc. This was very helpful! I also appreciated the "concierge book" of local activities, menus from local restaurants, and maps with directions to local hiking spots. This was helpful considering there were very few spots along the mountain-side where either of us got any service on our cellphones - a detail that is also clearly stated on their website. Overall, this was a wonderful, relaxing getaway I surely hope to repeat! Thank you to Amy, Mike and Lisa for all of your hardwork and attention to detail!

The cabin was adorable, sparkling clean, and wonderfully secluded. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunset mountain views from the porch and hot tub, and the amazing concierge book filled with restaurant menus, hikes, and activities. They have thought about everything you'd need! From a washer/dryer to a flashlight by the door to take your dog out at night. It was so nice to have no phone service and disconnect from city living for the weekend. I highly recommend this place and we will certainly be back soon! Bonus points, the town of Hot Springs was also very dog friendly! It was so fun to take her to the hardware store and out to lunch with us.

There is a beautiful rushing creek. And the dog park is the largest and cleanest one I have ever encountered at a campground (we are full time). There is also a "hike" up the mountain on a gravel road. It's a brutal workout. And it ends with a dead end rather than a beautiful lookout so, don't take it unless you want the exercise and are ready for a steady, steep climb all the way up. It's about a mile long. There are no bathrooms or laundry facilities so, this is a place for folks who are fully contained.

The employees in the office of Carolina Vacations are very kind and polite. Although the fact that i have to drive out of my way to their office to get keys is antiquated. I generally am able to settle contractual and payment matters online before i arrive, and use an electronic lock or lockbox, since almost all properties have wifi these days. Round trip, an hour of my life that I wont get back. I showed up at check in time , and the receipt and keys were not ready. Gladly waited in their lobby because it allowed me the opportunity to charge my cell phone and do a little work online. The receipt still did not agree with my online receipt from the owner that i received online, but i was assured that my card would just be charged for the amount online shown on Home Away. Got to the property after a serene drive through the hills and mountains. Nice looking house. Unlocked the door and would throughout. Unfortunately the downstairs had not been cleaned at all as each room downstairs either had dirty towels, unmade beds or trash. Upstairs looked like it had been picked up, but not cleaned. Dissapointing to pay full price, a cleaning fee, and a hot tub cleaning fee for a dirty house. Carolina Vacations needs to step up their property management game.
