Absolutely no part of this experience was something to write home about. A beautiful location, but the longest wait times for literally everything, very limited food selections for gluten free/celiac, and besides our waitress, a staff that seems to prefer to forget you. I wish this had been better, but I wish I'd read up on it before visiting.

This was a delicious dinner and really nice location for a romantic dinner. The food was delicious and there was a nice pace between one dish to the next. The server also allowed me to sample the wine first before pouring which I really liked. However we are left feeling conflicted. While we were happy with the meal and service the price we were charged at the end was a surprise. We chose this location and not the nearby Portuguese place that we had originally planned because we had learned about the $59 "Happening Gourmand" meal. I know wine is not included along with gratuity. But nowhere on the menu did it mention that for the main course if you choose the steak it will cost an additional $20. If I had known that I would have had the fish. So just be certain on what you are paying for and being charged because this was very sneaky and wasn't told about the price difference until the bill arrived. Oh..... and they made two mistakes with my fiancée desert. First it was the wrong item and second she had asked for it to go because it was getting late.

Came here to celebrate a bachelorette. unfortunately we booked first with the Terrasse William Gray and they "lost" our reservations. They did set us up in the back corner so we had lots of room. We had a prefix menu at $80 - that was set on the table as we got there so that was great. We were pleasantly to greeted and sat. I did find that our beverage orders did take quite a while to be taken and then another 20 minutes before actually arriving. As much as they were meticulous with the cleanliness of the table, I feel the follow up for drinks while we waited for our food should've been more frequent. Had it been more frequent? We probably would've ordered more beverages while we waited for our food. Once our food finally did arrive it wouldn't say it was anything outstanding nothing memorable that makes me feel like I'd like to come back. My highlight of this whole experience was the one espresso martini I was able to have.

We stopped at Maggie Oakes for drinks and the ambiance, selection and service were excellent. The bartender was very friendly and engaging. The selection of drinks was very good and the mixology used to prepare them was outstanding. Very delicious drinks at reasonable prices. This is the bar/restaurant of a hotel so the ambiance is chic and it does cater to both locals and tourists. It's located right on Place Jacques Cartier, so it's easy to find.

Great service, food and ambiance ! They are known for their aged steaks which are prominently displayed. It's in a great location in the downtown and within a nice hotel. The steaks were delicious and done right. The atmosphere was delightful and vibrant. All the staff were great and accommodating. Solid 4-4.5 stars

Located in the Hotel William Gray, this place served up a delicious brunch! We almost didn't go here based on the low Yelp ratings but it was raining and we wanted a cozy meal without wandering too far. They have St Viatuer sesame bagels! Great alternative if you don't want to trek across town for the famous Montreal bagels. We also had the lobster and shrimp sandwiched on a brioche toasted bun. We enjoyed it so much that we returned later for drinks and a charcuterie board before our evening show.

We almost didn't go to Maggie Oakes due to the low Yelp rating but we had been traveling all day and it was close to our hotel, so we rolled the dice. We were very pleasantly surprised! I ordered the avocado toast and it was delicious. We went at 3pm, so there was only one other table of people the whole time we were there. Our server did an ok job up until we asked for our bill and he stopped by the other table and went back and forth through the restaurant several times before bringing it. Other than that, our lunch was good and we'd give it another try.

Amid the stroll along Place Jacques Cartier lies this charming, spacious, well-appointed and luxe restaurant, with a grand interior and delectable options. Maggie Oakes is a ground floor space. (Its sister spaces are the Terrasse William Gray, and Perché, both situated upstairs for Old Port viewing.) Oakes has huge cuts of beef on display in its refrigerated units, and also has seafood and vegetarian options. The drinks list is excellent. We enjoyed our meals, bar drinks, and comfortable surroundings. Highly recommended.

Absolutely phenomenal food and service. Our waiter was very tentative to us when we were dining. He asked for example oh did he give you the lemon water for when you're done with the lobster? And to top things off the food, the lobster and sirloin steak was absolutely amazing. The sirloin literally cut like butter and the lobster was delicious with the sweet potato fries

Montreal is just amazing. It was a busy time and they got us seated immediately. Our server made great recommendations. My drink was refreshing and the views made it better. We sat outside but inside was lovely because it's of course associated with the a beautiful hotel. I ordered the tuna tartare, I enjoyed it but not the best I've had, didn't take away from my experience. Montreal is simply a great experience and this was definitely a part of it.

We were seated at a lovely table for two by a window. The service at first was a bit slow, but that was understandable given how busy the restaurant was. Our server, Yan, was incredibly personable. He had excellent suggestions for dinner. We each started with cocktails, and enjoyed the ambiance. There was a live band, but we were in a different room. It wasn't loud like you would expect. 5/5 service. Beef Tartare: 5/5. This was an excellent start. The appetizer sizing was a little small for two people. If you want a little more, I'd recommend the entree size. It comes with fries. But it was delicious. The crostini's that came with it were a little overpowering, but the tartare itself was delicious. Duck Confit: 5/5. This duck was INCREDIBLE. Perfectly cooked, crispy skin, tender and juicy flavor. An incredible sauce. Delicious veggies and potatoes. The only thing I did not like about this dish was how quickly we ate it! Dessert (not pictured): 5/5. We had a chocolate pyramid with hazelnuts and chocolate mousse. Delicious. I do recommend making a reservation on open table prior to coming. Here is what I think of the food: Seasoning is generally saltier but not too overly. Escargot or the snails is yummy. It comes with the option of cheese on top. Dressed heavy with olive oil and garlic. They remove the shell so it makes it approachable if you were nervous about trying. Cheese & Charcuterie board is as what you imagined. It can't go wrong. Rack of Lamb was good. I do recommend highly. It comes with our 4-5 bones worth of protein with potatoes & veggies. Lost track of how many bones because it was eaten so fast. Duck confit was average. Let me explain, duck was average but the amount of spinach I gotten and how potatoes on the plate was good. Sides out shine the protein here. Side of Foie Gras was perfect because I was worried about having too much food. It did come on a small plate because it's a side dish and it was fatty and salty. Intermission was the best cocktail of the night. Fruity with a star anise on top so you smell it while drinking it because it was so close to your nose. Jazz District was okay. Overall, I do think this restaurant site fairly between 4&5 stars. Do try it. I would come back for special occasions and it's not an every night meal.

The ambiance is so lovely and it truly is the best place for delicious brunch items and taking cute pictures too! My friends and I visited on a Saturday morning without reservations, but we went relatively earlier. We were seated right away for a table of 4 and were served teas and coffee. I ordered the Bone Marrow & Duck Confit which consisted of a country-style bread, duck poached egg, bone marrow, confict duck leg, manchego shavings, herb salted crumble and green peas. It's a massive dish and honestly everything tasted amazing all together. The bone marrow was perfectly cooked and the duck poached egg meld everything together. Other items ordered was the Foie Gras (Chef's specialty) which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, caramelized onion compote and crispy proscuitto chips.
