I wish we had a place like this where I live. Great spot with copious options of beer and wine to choose from. The staff there very attentive and friendly. Lively ambiance of people coming in and out and having a good time with live music just outside. A plethora of phenomenal wines to either drink a pour or purchase by the bottle. This was such a quaint place to visit in Mount Dora. Located in a small alley this place is offering up so many different types of wine and beer. They also sell some fun and quirky items. If you take their spiral staircase upstairs (avoid this staircase if you've had a little too much to drink) you will find a small little sitting area with comfy chairs, some games to play and a record player with a choice of records to play. It was just perfect for our group of seven and unlike any place I've been before. They offer wine tastings on the first and third Saturdays of the month and beer tasting on the second Saturday of the month. I was told that they're very popular and loads of fun. Prices were very reasonable and the bartenders were super nice. I highly recommend stopping at Maggie's Attic if you're ever in the area! read more

Maggie's Attic really is great. I think you'll find a common word in all the reviews, that being: Cozy. It was cold the day we came in and the warm glow of the light that reflected off of the many wine bottles cheered our spirits instantly. The soft leather couches beckon: "Sit, and relax for a while; you deserve it." The staff is very knowledgeable about wines and if you tell them what kind of drinks you normally enjoy, they'll steer you in the right direction. We opted to share a bottle of California Red semi-sweet, but it was EXACTLY what I wanted to drink; really a great bottle of wine! Not at all what I was expecting when I walked through the door- my other half and I were laughing at the display window with all the little smart-a$$ phrases and decided to head in. What we were greeted with was a little lounge area and an extensive wine selection! Beer and cider too and plenty of collectibles to browse. I really enjoyed all the clocks, very artistic and whimsical! John was so tempted by a metal tank bottle holder- for wine, but I told him if he got it I would put a bottle of whiskey in it- he said "Damn Right" to my suggestion! Maggie's Attic is another one of my "must" stops when in Mount Dora. The atmosphere is a blast. There are a limited number of places to sit but if you can grab one of the couches, chairs or bar stools, you will be rewarded with a wonderful experience. They always have a great selection of craft beers and a very good selection of wines. Instead of being called, Maggie's Attic, it should be called Maggie's basement. The low ceilings and stone walls definitely remind me of our basement when I was a kid. No matter what type of beer or wine you enjoy, Maggie's Attic has several options. It's not Total Wine level of selections but it's not meant to be. It's just a fun gathering place with wonderful choices. I promise you will enjoy it. Go with friends. When I think of the marketplace at Mount Dora, I think of Maggie's. It's the definition of the quaint and cozy experience you get strolling through the unique little alley way and stopping for a glass of wine to enjoy the outdoor seating. Who doesn't like sitting outside with a glass of wine? Inside, the shop holds a lot of wine varieties, beer as well as cute little accessories for entertaining. I actually picked up some fun pizza slice glass ornaments. Each slice is unique with different toppings and hang on the rim of your glass so guests don't mix up their glasses... especially important these days! I only knocked off a star because I was unable to find a nice French Pinot. I'd like to see their French selection expanded more. read more

Great little find thanks to Yelp! Very reasonable (and generous) pours of wine. They also have a nice selection of interesting beers you might not find anywhere else. It was Christmas time, so they had a gingerbread beer that was really good! Man behind the counter was helpful and friendly and even opened a bottle for us. Cute little areas to sit and enjoy your drink or walk around the intimate space and stumble upon a find (good for gifts!) Definitely will be back when we are back in Mount Dora! read more

We were about to leave and because something had to use the restroom, discovered it has an even cooler area upstairs! What an awesome little hidden gem! I didn't even know that little shopping area existed and it was cute with a little fountain, games for the kids, and views of the sunset. Maggie's Attic had an amazing variety of wines, and even craft beer that was unexpected. All items were priced 40% off to go and they were having a beer tasting while we were there that looked like a lot of fun. The highlight of our visit was finding Cakebread chardonnay by the glass for only $16! What a treat and the icing on our Mother's day visit. We will definitely be back! read more

Love this wine bar located in downtown Mount Dora. My favorite thing to do here are the wine walks. They have them every first and third weekend of the month. For $15, Maggie's gives you a glass and you're off through the one of my favorite little towns tasting fabulous wines. Many of the local shops extend their hours and it's a great way to explore this historic town. Tonight, it was a normal night with live music outside and my boyfriend and I stopped in for a couple of glasses before dinner. They have bottles for purchase for consumption there or take home. So I'm more than a little disappointed with place. My friends and I popped in for a few beers, and we were quickly told that we had to leave due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Now, I would have been fine with this, but the "manager" ushered us out, allowing a group that had come in after us to stay. I guess she thought that they were going to buy a case of wine, but the joke was on her, because the other group was obviously window shopping; whereas, my Buddy was most likely down with the purchase.... on the bright side, our bartender was awesome and we were allowed to take our drinks out into the street. Eh, I'm a little less enthusiastic over Maggie's. Seems if you're not a beer nut, you'll feel a little out of place at Maggie's. I will say, none of the usual suspects bellyup to a bar here... No, these hop-infused aficionados, wear button down shirts (mostly) and listen to soft rock in the adjoining alleyway. Unfortunately, this creates somewhat of a beer-jam on tasting nights, with an unusually long line waiting for their rightful 3.1oz plastic cup refill. This leaves wine drinkers behind barricades of beer bellies (heh, that rhymes!) Lastly, short staffing (and fuses) at the cluttered order countertop detract from enjoying myself. read more

TERRIBLE. About 6 months ago, my fiance and I went to Maggie's on the night we had gotten engaged. We were visiting Mount Dora and stayed the night at an inn nearby. The bartender who was apparently the owner's son was pretty intoxicated and claimed that we were trying to "Undercover Alcohol Bust" him and was not wanting to serve us. WE ARE BOTH 22 years old and of course had valid ID cards. He couldn't even read our birth dates. It got to the point that I was pretty upset, because at first I thought he was joking...but he didn't stop. It almost ruined our engagement night. He apologized later after we got drinks, but I'm never going to walk into this establishment again. Get sober bartenders. I realize that Mount Dora doesn't have the biggest population of young people, but that is no excuse for treating a CUSTOMER like dirt. read more

Maggie's is awesome! If you live in Mount Dora or are just visiting for the weekend, you must stop by. Plan your trip around their Saturday night event - 1st and 3rd Saturdays are wine tasting events, and the 2nd Saturday is a beer tasting event. The events are from 6pm-8pm on those days and you can pay by cash or credit card inside Maggie's. The wine event is $15 per person, and you get to taste around 20 wines. There is food and snacks in the breezeway outside Maggie's, as well as live music. You'll get a wine glass and a list of all wines to taste, and the prices per bottle. There are 4-5 shops right around Maggie's where you can wander at your own place to taste the different wines (4-5 to taste at each place)... it's a lot of fun, and good refuge if it's a hot day so you can pop in for some A/C! The beer event is $10 per person and all sampling is done in the breezeway outside Maggie's. I think they have about the same amount of beers to taste. This event is fun, but almost unbearably hot in the summer months to stay outside tasting! We like these events so much we've been to two wine events, and one beer tasting within the past 6 weeks. It's an inexpensive date night & so much fun!! read more

So I used to do this wine walk once a month, until the one I did, I thought it was great. I'm highly disappointed in the last wine walk that we did. Every time we double check the times and its usually 6-8pm. This time we checked at the website stated 7-9pm. So of course we arrive at 7pm, and start our walk and around 8pm we realize they were ending. We headed over to Maggie's Attic to talk to the owner and show her the website online says 7-9pm, I'm not sure if she was having a bad night or had drank too much wine because she started yelling at us for not knowing her schedule when its always 6pm and that it's our fault and we should know better. I told the owner we were sorry for the confusion and even showed her the times said 7pm. She let us know it wasn't her problem and that she didn't care because she got her money. Needless to say, that was our last time going and I will be supporting other local owned businesses instead. And for any local business owner who thinks it's completely okay to get wine wasted, slur their words, become completely belligerent in their actions, and can't keep their composure clearly shouldn't be drinking, let alone drinking on the job. read more
