I am a shy person and didn't say how much I hated the color. I thought maybe it will grow on me. The first hand was cured before I saw the color. I called today to see if they could help me and the lady on the phone made me feel horrible. She told me to speak up next time, that I chose the color, and that it would take like 30 min and that they were all booked. I hate the nails I paid for. Now I am stuck with them for weeks. Our experience at Modern Nail Bar was mixed. I would say that service depends on who does your…read morenails. On a positive note, they have hooks for your purse and their salon is beautiful inside. I got my gel polish removed, with Eva doing my nails. The gel removal cost only $15, but now I have to go home and fix them because they were not done properly, leaving my nails scarred and ragged. The filing Eva did to get the top layer of gel off was harsh and very fast. She did not let the gel soak for very long, maybe 2 minutes, so she had to scrape harder with the cuticle pusher. She did not ask what shape I'd like my nails, and filed them whatever way she pleased. Some of my nails are different shapes with straight/flat tips and some are rounded. There were no formalities, and Eva didn't say I was done, she just told me to wash my hands and then moved onto her next client. My nails look pretty bad, as she didn't apply cuticle oil to help with the damage from the Dremel. My nails also could have been buffed with a finer grit to make them more smooth. I have had better, kinder, more attentive service elsewhere and do not plan to return. The ambiance is nice, but the service is not great. On another note, Kevin was great and took pride in his work. He did a great job on my mom's acrylic fill. He was gentle and careful and detail oriented. If you come here, ask for Kevin. Eva had terrible customer service, though and I would not recommend her to anyone. Be careful who does your nails here.
