We are in town visiting family and decided to make an appointment for pedicures and I did SNS Dip Powder as well. The location is decorated very nice and is super clean. They line the foot bath of the spas with the plastic, so we were happy about that. We are also very glad we made an appointment because it was super busy. The only reason I am not giving 5-Stars is because the customer service was lacking. The person who did my pedicure was very rushed. She did a great polish job though. I had to ask her 4 times if she would wrap my nails so that I didn't have to wait an additional 20-30 minutes to let them soak for my new SNS. I am used to my nail tech doing this before my pedicure starts. I also had to ask for wine, no drinks were offered to us. The wine was great though. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, the place is great, the service could just be better. read more

I am so sad. I went to get a gel nail fill yesterday and I chose a color that was a white/shimmer and it came out cotton candy pink. I should have realized or spoke up but the lady didn't ask and was rushing like crazy. Before I could check the color she was curing my nails. I am a shy person and didn't say how much I hated the color. I thought maybe it will grow on me. The first hand was cured before I saw the color. I called today to see if they could help me and the lady on the phone made me feel horrible. She told me to speak up next time, that I chose the color, and that it would take like 30 min and that they were all booked. I hate the nails I paid for. Now I am stuck with them for weeks. I just want them off and to never go back. Usually this is a great place but this experience will have me finding a new place. read more

I have been a customer at Urban Chic in Holly Springs for many years. They are consistent, attentive, and such a fun group of technicians. The salon is clean and tastefully decorated. This is the best place in the local area to go for anything from SNS in so many color options to a basic polish change. There are other reviews that mention the customer service not being top notch but that is absolutely not my experience. I've been coming here for years but today really stood out to me. I had to bring my baby with me to the salon. I was hoping she would sleep during my appointment, but she decided she wanted to be awake and party with us! Tina did a FANTASTIC job on my nails and was so patient with me while I soothed my baby. All of the ladies in the salon stopped by to talk to her, and one of them even ended up holding her at the end so I could get my nails painted without interruption, bless! While bringing my baby with me is never my first choice, sometimes you've just got to make it work. UrbanChic has been my go-to nail place since I moved to Fuquay in 2001. I tried a couple of places that are closer to my house with less-than-stellar results, so gave them a try. The 20-minute drive is worth it. UrbanChic is tucked away in a little development right off of 55, full of newish townhouses and apartments and assorted other small businesses. It is spotlessly clean (not a trivial point when you're talking about a nail salon). They have a very nice online reservation system, and a full menu of services (although I see them only for pedicures). I dinged them one star because I think they're a bit pricey; I get the mid-level pedicure and with tip it comes to about $60. But I'll continue going there (this Friday in fact) as long as I still live here. read more

I've been numerous times and sometimes the experience is wonderful and my polish lasts easily for a week or longer (I get a pedi and basic mani), other times it chips within the first few days. Unfortunately the last time I went the women who did my pedicure cut my toe (no apology!) and it was still sore days later. I went to go get a soak off on my nails and when I went in you could tell none of the techs wanted to do a soak off because they were all just looking at each other like who is going to do the soak off. I get seated at the bar and one of the ladies asks what color I wanted and I said I just wanted a soak off so she goes "I can't do that" and looks at the lady next to her. the lady next to her begins by drilling the first layer of the acrylic off which is normal and then she begins popping my nails off with a nail tip and when she couldn't get the acrylic off certain fingers then she soaked the nail off when it was her last option but that was only 2/10 nails. she goes to pop my ring finger nail off and it was hurting and she asked me if I was hurting I said "yes" and I look at my nail and it's missing a chunk of my nail.. and bleeding because it ripped off. she told me she wanted to put gel on the nail and I said "no because i'm supposed to get them done tomorrow" and the lady sitting next to me said "you could put aquaphor on the nail" and the nail lady said she had aquaphor so she puts it on my nail. and I still ended up paying $20 for a soak off when my nails were ripped/ popped off instead. I won't be back to this location and I prefer the Cary location way more. read more

Went there several times. It's noisy. Not particularly friendly. I think the lady was giving my person a hard time about the amount of product he was using on my pedicure. I was offended and felt bad for him. Then he and the technician next to him began talking about the other person. While we as the majority of clientele don't know or speak the languages of most nail techs in this salon. We can infer and grasp context. We watch everything because technicians working on our person are a captive audience for us in the chair. Today was my third visit to this salon. There was a bit of a wait even though I had an appointment, but all was forgiven when I was given a glass of white wine. Im not sure what my nail technician's name was, I forgot to ask, but she seemed like she was in a hurry since the salon was very busy. She went to work right away removing my dead cuticles and filing and buffing my nails. I thought it was strange that she didn't soak my cuticles to soften them, but every salon is different. I found a picture on Pinterest of metal gray nails with a silver ring finger and I asked to have the same colors on my nails. I do not recommend these colors. They were very watery and my nail tech was constantly wiping away the runny gray with her nails, which was a little painful. It took several coats of both polishes, more than usual, and my ring fingers still look barely polished! Once my nails were dry, I was given a smidge of hand scrub and told to wash my hands. I returned to my seat and the nail tech put a little lotion on each hand, barely rubbed it in, and covered my hands with a hot towel and pounded on them for a few seconds and that was it. My visit today cost me $42 ($35 with a 20% tip), which is expensive for what you receive. I'm not sure if I will be back. read more

They have the latest colors, it's clean and very friendly. They also have a rewards program that I have yet to really see at any are nail salon. The prices are Consistent with the area. Initially I thought I would just get a pedicure, but after scoping out the place I really liked how the manicure area was setup like a bar. Turns out, it was a wine bar too! So, I opted for wine with my mani and pedi and really the review can stop here. I love when you're offered wine or champagne during pampering sessions. Talk about relaxation. Not sure why this place has so many positive reviews. Don't get me wrong the salon itself is very nice. But the job they do at actually painting nails is terrible. Most of my nails are half painted. I was left with dried nail polish on the back of my hand, nails cut way too short and bleeding cuticles. For two people a manicure and pedicure cost $115. This is a super cute nail shop, maybe the cutest I've personally been in, but I don't treat myself to manicures and pedicures often. I like that they do manicures at a high top "bar". They were very busy but I had an appointment and they did a good job keeping close to the time scheduled. There are several different pedicure packages you can choose from and prices start at 30 dollars. I chose the "Modern Chic" (next step up from the most simple option) 3 stars because after I left I still saw obvious dead skin on my heels and for a $40 dollar pedicure + tip this shouldn't be the case. I didn't feel my experience was anything spectacular - I've paid $25 and got a better pedicure elsewhere. I guess you also pay for the feeling of being in a posh nail bar. read more

Made an appointment for a gel manicure online and was able to get right in when I walked in. In all the years I have been getting gel manicures elsewhere, this is the worst manicure I have ever received. I have fairly short nails, and was only asked about what shape I wanted, nothing about length since they were already short. I said rounded like I usually do, and I left with barely any nails left, and a reddened spot on my pinky that is painful and bled a little when I got to my car. You know when you cut your nails too short and it's painful? That's what my hands feel like. I didn't realize how short she had made my nails until she was filing them after the polish and it stung like heck. I was also looking forward to receiving OPI gel and they didn't have white despite it being an option, so I had to settle for a lower quality brand in my opinion. Not to mention the chairs are super close together and there is no mask requirement to enter this business, so I was stuck between two unmasked customers. My nails now hurt because of how short they were filed, so I will not be back because I'd like to keep them when they grow back. read more

The first nail tech did an awful job, very bulky, lumpy and put oil on my hands too early which made the white turn YELLOW in some areas. The salon itself was ok. I noticed that many nail polishes looked old or were cheaper quality, though. I got gel mani/padi done and after two days the nail polish started chipping and separating. Went in to get it fixed, but another 3 days go by and the same nail that was "fixed" started peeling again. By the end of the first week every nail had a chip and three were peeled. My gel manicures usually last 4-5 weeks. This was an unfortunate experience and a waste of money. Not quality work. read more
