Patties are previously frozen, and so are French fries. Bad location, not great customer service. There is nothing special about this place I was shocked it at 4 1/2 stars. The lettuce was wilted, and tomatoes soggy. If you are looking for a good burger don't go here, you will be disappointed. read more

Found this place completely by chance. The evening before our flight out, we were staying in a nearby hotel. Hungry for something but not sure what, I jumped on Yelp and noticed the many 5 star reviews... we went and were pleasantly surprised. Food was fresh, tasty and pretty quick. This was my first time eating at magic burger. My fiancé had gotten to go orders here a few times. I ordered a regular hamburger combo and he ordered a bacon cheese magic burger combo all for 14 bucks. You can't beat that Houston. I've been to some of the top hamburger places in Houston and in my opinion those places have nothing on this place. If you don't mind a hole in the wall burger place then I highly recommend you travel down to south houston and try this place out. read more

Looking at it from the outside you wouldnt expect much, but walk in and the smell of bacon brought an instant smile. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger, fries, and drink. It was good, hot, and fresh and for a little over $8 well worth it. Only complaints i have 1) bacon slightly undercooked 2) gotta pay for refills. A great inexpensive place to enjoy a tasty burger... I've been coming here for over 35 years and the quality and freshness hasn't changed. I usually get the cheeseburger and fries special but you can't go wrong of you are ever in the mood for fried fish or fried shrimp. The burger is always well seasoned hot and fresh, with the cheese it all practically melts in your mouth... the onion rings are a real treat, slightly sweet batter and piping hot... it's just really good. I've always been treated well, service is fast, courteous and consistent. Just an FYI... seating is small, about 30 chairs in the dining area, parking area is also small, and they close around 7 p.m. so choose your timing well. read more

I drive all the way from Pasadena to eat here sometimes. As for they horrible review below, Ketchup, napkins, salt, pepper, everything is right there in the lobby where you eat. Can't say anything about the oysters, as I don't like oysters anyway, but my brother says the shrimp dinner is great (I'm allergic to the iodine). The service is always as well as can be expected, even during busy times, though there may be a wait. But these people don't mess around - always moving. As for refills, I don't mind having to ask them at the counter. Every now and then I get one for free (refill), but I guess that's because I'm a sort of regular customer. I've never gotten any fries that weren't fresh and hot - can't say that about any burger place anywhere else. The burgers are fresh, and the veggies aren't soggy and limp like almost all other places. I love this place. But, hey, that's just my opinion. My wife is kind of picky when it comes to this sort of dining, but she likes their food also. Even though it is a "hole in the wall" looking place, they keep it pretty clean. It's a very old building, what can you do? Used to be "J&S Burgers" back when I was a kid in the early 70's. I recommend them any day. read more
