My favorite sandwich shop ever! Everyone who works here is so friendly, and for made to order sandwiches you never have to wait very long. I can't recommend the Cuban sandwich enough, between the homemade pickles and special mustard sauce, I promise it's like no Cuban you've had before!!

Absolutely outstanding! 10/10. The staff are beautiful and friendly. The restaurant is incredibly clean and really relaxing. Food was fresh, fast, very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. So glad I stopped in! Loved every bite.

Randomly found this place while in the area last week and in need of a quick lunch. It was packed so you knew it was going to be good. Great old school deli sandwich. Bread was soft and fresh and all the ingredients were proportionate to the sandwich. Trying to find a reason to be back in the area so I can stop there for lunch again.

I guess I just got the wrong sandwich last time. This place makes great sandwiches. I love their pimiento cheese -- it's like I use to make, but don't get the poboy, the innards squeeze out. I've come here for it 3 times in the last couple of months and it's an 8 mile drive. Their egg salad sandwich is also good. As always it could do with a little more seasoning (relish) but it's good anyway. Next time I'm going to try their deviled eggs.

I really enjoyed having a Reuben for the first time here. It was profoundly good and made me craving for another one. On top of that of craving a deli sandwich it made me tell everyone I knew about it. I was proud to say where I got my Reuben from, but now.. I'm rethinking all of that. It seems the Reuben's are not consistent at all. That is something that I dislike saying and hearing myself say. So, I came in one evening when "girls" were out. The girls are considered as the sandwich makers. The same exact "girl" who prepared my first Reuben. All that was left was the owners, Donna & David. Donna prepared two of the Reuben's I asked for one Pastrami & a Corned Beef. After this experience, It will be my last time coming here. Donna wasn't very kitchen ready nor sanitary. She was sick. She sniffed & coughed around my sandwiches. Not once, but twice. She touched everything with her plastic glove even the microwave, fridgerator door, plastic containers (where the meat was kept in) and the cheese & the sandwiches. Both sandwiches were soggy and the ends were hard. Both sandwiches had less meat and more sauerkraut. It tasted nasty and disappointing. The Reuben's on the menu were $6.49 & she charged me $6.99 each for both of them. All I ordered was the sandwiches by it self, no chips, drink, or dessert. The first Reuben gave me that bite me back vibe. But dang, those two were scraped together. I will not be back! Waste of money. Highly disappointed.

Stopped in celebrating our 3rd anniversary! We will be back! Roast beef was delicious and great service . Tony & Crystal!

Pork Bao's are normally my daughter fave but the soup dumplings here are her favorite. She could finish an order on her own. The service is always great. The order goes straight to the kitchen and you can add as you go if wanted. I always thought that was pretty cool. The owner came out to say hello and ask how everything is. She even brought out a small bowl of soup for my baby to enjoy. The waitress was also very sweet and attentive. I don't live close by but will make the trip when the craving hits. Wow! Just... wow…read more Loved this place from the moment I walked in! Ambiance was super fun and welcoming. The tubs of ice filled with cold drinks all around as you approach the counter was casual and fun. And the staff was welcoming and friendly. The menu had so much variety, without being overwhelming. Anything from a good pazole, to a brisket Rueben, to an American Italian sandwich! I got the báhn mì sandwich, which was bursting with flavor! The pork was seasoned well and had good flavor from the marinade. The cilantro, pickled onions, jalapeno, all were so fresh and vibrant! And I was able to get homemade chips and fresh strawberries as my side - such a refreshing bite the strawberries after a rich, porky, spicy bite from the sandwich. Can't say enough good! Loved this place and would go back in a heartbeat!

A big part of the decades long success at Local Foods has been their commitment to consistency…read more Their casual setting with excellent service is one thing, but quality executed food that is simple and seasonal will always go a long way. Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.
