Definitely busy at lunch. Lots of workers!! I have taken my time to write this review. Why?? Excellent reviews are easy to write. Meh reviews no real rush to write. The truly horrible reviews I am not in a such to write to make sure that it is not based solely on emotions. If the really bad feelings are still there weeks afterwards then it was a really bad experience. Burger Tex ranks right up on the top (or bottom) of the worse reviews. Living by this restaurant for 8 years and always wanted to taste their burgers I finally went and took my friend Joey. Joey is my restaurant side kick partner. Joey ordered the Chicken Fried Steak sandwich with fries. He LOVED it and was surprised of it's size. It doesn't take much to impress Joey but this time he was really impressed. Now for me. I love burgers, burger joints and I am always ready to taste a new experience. So what did I do? I didn't order one of their burgers but instead I ordered their house special: The Bulgogi. It was so bad that this day also would go down in history as a Day (meal) of infamy!!! Never heard of such a sandwich so I asked the young lady at the counter what is was and she with an attitude pointed at the sign stating that it was thinly sliced rib eye with teriyaki sauce and onions. Sounds good doesn't it. It was more like a pile of dung that was not appetizing to look at or to taste. It was more like a shredded pile with a few tiny pieces of onions. My picture will that there definitely was no love in making, presenting and serving of this fare. I also ordered a side of onion rings. I have never seen such over cooked onion rings like these. They were so petrified so could hear their crunch over the loud lunch hour. Not to waste them my friend Joey (remember easy to impress Joey) ate them with a smile. Now about the service. The hostess/the order taker/the server/ THE GRUMP was so bad that she was more of parody, that should never have anything to do with the public. There were many thank you, hello, and goodbyes that she would only sneer at and give a low grunt. Finally I will NEVER go back, I will never recommend this place and I am very sorry that I ever went there. After 8 years the feeling was soooo anticlimactic. read more

Need to update their menu in regards to drink sizes. Menu only shows SMALL & LARGE sizes. Most people would think that SMALL refers to a normal/regular drink size - but it doesn't. I had to venture over to this side of town because I had to test drive a vehicle for my family. I was famished and found this place on yelp. I'm sure glad I did. The burgers here are what I'd consider real home cooking. Patties were very generous in size and not dried out at all. The cashier was very pleasant and the cook came by to inquire on how I enjoyed my burger. The burger toppings were fresh and i enjoyed being able to select how much of each I wanted. This place is decent. If you're looking for a no frills place where you order your burger at the counter and pick it up from the counter 5 minutes later, this is your place. As I have gotten older, my body does not respond well to fried food or the associated grease. You order from a pretty self explanatory overhead menu, pay, then wait for your order to be called. I always order a cheese burger with french fries - you get to put condiments and tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and onions as desired on your burger. The burger is cooked on a stainless steel flat grill with all the grease retained within the burger - an "open grill" would let the grease drip down and away from the burger (dang it). Wonderful taste and fixing my burger the way I want it has brought me back time and again - but stomach distress has sadly ended my Burger Tex patronage. I would never discourage anyone from trying Burger Tex - but I can't handle it. read more

Generally quiet atmosphere. Food is good. A normal burger place just more expensive. A burger, fries and drink will run 8-10 bucks depending on the type of burger you order. I do prefer Whataburger up the street to this. If Whataburger runs out of meat, I'll come back here. read more

Usually I would give burger Tex a 5 star review. They have great burgers, and they usually have great crinkle cut fries. Well today we went in for lunch and they changed their fries. Needless to say they sucked. We go there for the fries and their cheese sauce. Well burger Tex, go back to the crinkle cut fries and we will be back. We were very disappointed in new fries and that changed our opinion on coming there for lunch twice a week. read more

Had the fried fish tonight. It was good. The cashier wasn't quite sure if it was tilapia or catfish though. Never had tilapia, so I couldn't tell you either, other than it was good tasting. Not great, but good. Fresh bread came with it and French fries. Fries were hot and salty. Hubbs had fried shrimp and said those were really good. Cashier was friendly. He was pleased overall, as was I. Will visit again to try other items and probably have the same again one day. Got take out, so can't comment on the restaurant itself. We visit here often and have always enjoyed their burgers. They were good tasting at a good price. Something has changed. The meat patty is now very small. I don't believe it's 4oz. and it tastes like it's something other than...beef. I'm very disappointed to have to mark Burger Tex off of my list of preferred lunch spots. :( read more

I don't need to say much about Burger Tex, they are a wonderful establishment with quality food and great prices. The atmosphere is very homely and cozy. The cashier is right to your right as soon as you walk in and they greet you with a big smile. They have a salad bar to the side with all your burger fixins (i.e. lettuce tomato onions, etc) I recommend ordering your burger without cheese because they have a hot cheese pot next to the salad bar so you save a buck. They have a soda fountain for your thirst needs. Their portions are very pleasant. They call your name or number after waiting about maybe 10-15 minutes during lunch rush which is amazing timing. and you're greeted with a nice thick patty with the fluffiest bread you could ever imagine. Total with a burger, fries, and drink i think totaled me to about 8-10 bucks or so. Total steal for the amount of food you get! I don't mind paying that for that tremendous quality and quantity. If you haven't tried this place I really recommend you do, you won't regret it! 5/5 all day baby! read more

I love(d) their wings. Always crispy and huge!! Then I saw a feather sticking out on my lemon pepper ones :( that just ruins it for me. I finally had their burger I hear a lot about. It was ok. Fries are usually good. They were burnt and hard this last time. I love putting their complimentary nacho cheese on my fries but I have to load it with jalapeños for taste. Queso is VERY watered down. They have a condiments section with all the veggies to your liking. Usually always fresh. I ordered a burger combo and the bulgogi dinner with a dinner salad. 1 st off there was barely enough meat on the bulgogi dinner to even make a dinner much less a decent sandwich. And the dinner salad was about 25 cents worth of lettuce, that's all, just lettuce. Had to add tomatoes and other stuff from my own kitchen to make it a " salad". Stopped in with the wife and we were very disappointed. My wife ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and it was dry and looked like it was fried in week old grease, she took one bite and threw it away. I ordered the burger cause hey it's in the name.
