Went today (9/16/23) to get my car washed. It had bird poop on it and the car wash did not remove any of the bird poop. Terrible job. I didn't buy the cheapest wash, I bought the superwash. PAID 35.00 for car wash at Magic's on kirkwood Hway in Wilmington on 8/28/23. About 4 to 5 people wiped it down and vacuumed inside. Left a 5.00 tip. I have passed by this car wash a number of times, and always saw it was busy. Unfortunately, I assumed busy meant good, I was terribly mistaken. I paid $24.99 for the ultimate car wash (one level down from their top option). My passenger side door was still dripping wet when I got in, they didn't vacuum ANYTHING, or wipe mirrors off. Also, they didn't even look at my back windows. They still have dog nose prints on them. I could have paid for the cheapest option with the service I got. I've been going to Magic Car Wash for 20 years since I lived In N Wilmington and have been driving from Pa for last 15 years. Would compliment them on what a great job they're system did. Inlaws by me gift cars there because they know that's my go to. Yesterday after waiting in line with my pickup and pulling up to the entrance, the woman taking the orders walks up to me and asked if I've 'been here before', I said ' ah come on you're hurting my feelings' with a smile. She abruptly walks to the back of my truck and comes back and says, 'you can't go through, you gotta sweep the sand out of the bed'. I was shocked and lost my sh$t because of her rudeness and obvious problem with me for unknown reasons. I asked for the manager and he came quickly and immediately took her side and said ' yep no sand in bed it will get stuck on brushes and scratch cars behind you' OK that makes sense, so why not hit it with the two power washers like they do for leaf remnants or anything else minor ( I always clean the bed of debris) but no discussion, had to back up the line of cars behind me and exit around the side. After the wash my car had white residue on the doors as well as dirty hubcaps. I am not sure what cleaning they think they did but it was a poor job. I head over and ask for "the works" (what I've always gotten for all my cars every time I come). The African American male that takes your car and prints you the slip tells me i "can't get 'the works'" so I purchase the next best package at 29.99. I thought ok maybe it's cause they're busy. After I go through the building and pay I come out to find several African American people getting "the works" done on their cars while everyone were all told 'the works' wasn't available. ... Today I took my white car, albeit it was parked under a tree (not sap) and had not been washed for a few months and paid for the elite option which was $35 w the recognition my car WAS dirty. When my car was returned to me, the hood, roof and wheels were still filthy. I said something and requested it be rewashed. The manager told me it would take too much work and it could not be rewashed to remove the dirt and that there is a sign that clearly states your car may not come out clean. What???? Customer service I've been coming here for years and we all have our best days and some not so great. My last trip could have been a bad day but Dan customer service saved me. I drove through with my truck and left without a antenna on my truck . I thought for sure I would be told tough luck but instead Dan told me to call a auto repair place and they would cover it being replaced . I have been going to Magic Car Wash for several years very happy with their service. Recently got Pendot paint along the bottom of my car from line crew puting new paint lines on roads. Extremely hard to get off car, spoke with several car detailers they quoted $250 to $350 to remove. Magic has been my go to car wash spot for the last couple of years. They have great prices, great service, and my kids LOVE going through their gift shop and play area. It is brilliant! By the time we get through and pay, our car is ready. A couple pro tips. Every wash comes with a scented air freshener wafer they have at the front counter. Lots of scents to choose from. Download the app and get a free wash after 9 car washes and they always have lots of good discounts available there too. Car mats can be cleaned for $1 ea. If you have kids/pets, I highly recommend this service occasionally. I worked there for a few days I can not work for a company who allows employees to half ass people's vehicles. Customers come and pay money to have their cars clean many times I had to go over others work to the point I had to ask a customer to step out of her vehicle because the door jams was not even touched. And when you go behind someone's work to finish it the proper way the other employees treat you like dirty all because I value my work and I understand customer pay to have their vehicles cleaned not half ass cleaned there is not a system on how things are ran here. Tried to use a gift card that was a few years old. Had a balance of $87.25 left on it. Was told it had expired. No indication of expiration on the card. They gave me a free 9.95 external car wash as compensation. Have been going to Magic for many years---never again. While waiting for my car to be washed, I asked if they sold stamps and they told me they didn't. Then Dan the manager, who overheard my request, said, "Do you need just one?" I told him yes and he gave me a stamp! What a gentleman.
