Magic Evan mesmerizing kids at our co-op holiday party
    Doris G.

Absolutely and unequivocally recommend Magic Evan for a fun, funny and fully entertaining time! We had Magic Evan at our co-op holiday party and he was a huge hit with the children and adults alike! He capped his magic show with animal balloons for the kids to keep which they loved. Magic Evan is such a professional, too. He followed up from the time I first reached out to him to the day of the event. He is so pleasant and organized. I highly recommend Magic Evan!

We hired Evan's Zoom Magic show for our daughter's 9th birthday party and he didn't disappoint! His show was very engaging and he kept the kids in awe with his magic. He was very friendly, punctual, very personable and really related well with the kids. He went above and beyond all our expectations and we would definitely recommend him.

    Virtual Zoom party

When our trip to be with family for my son's 8th birthday got cancelled due to the spike in COVID-19, I started searching for an alternative party. I found many magicians willing to do a virtual party, but Magic Evan stood out from the rest with his professionalism, candor, and obvious organization. He was communicative throughout planning and answered all questions in a timely manner. Everyone had a good time, he kept the kids engaged (and even us adults) and you would have never guessed this was a new situation for all of us. You can tell he loves what he does and he's definitely a entertainer to remember and someone I wish I could use over and over (maybe if he could magically erase memories, HA!)! PS, if you use him and not sure how to give him tip now that it's virtual (kind of awkward asking how to go about doing this), here's his tip jar: https://checkout.square.site/pay/00315ec81541478e83c0a8bb8ceb39c9 You're welcome for saving you from awkwardness!!!

If we go back, we'd try to get here early as seats fill up quickly. There's plenty of room to stand but keep in mind it's a long show and there's an intermission in between. I would pace myself though because after all it's called a drinking game for a reason. If you're hungry, there's a spot in the main area where someone heats up frozen Table87 pizzas which isn't the best quality but when you've had a few beers and are starving, these pizzas are a godly.

I most recently saw them at Brooklyn Bazaar; the group tends to shuffle around shows between there, Union Hall, and Bell House. definitely a blast to experience. get on their mailing list or social media pages to find out their next shows.

The choreography was terrible because it seemed like the dances were made up on the spot except for one of the dancers who seemed to have a dancing background but not even that could save this show that was overly-priced. I wish I could ask for my $45 back but at last, this was a lesson to me to not go to anything that doesn't have any reviews because I have a feeling that they would have been all one-stars. The theater itself was very disorganized and had chairs set very closely to each other in what was the orchestra area. The stage itself looked like it belonged in a middle school and the balcony sets were too close to one another. The staff was nice and friendly but that was the only good thing about this whole experience.

Unfortunately, the show I went to see did not make me want to go back to the Roulette ever again. Went there with one of my besties to see a Vampire cabaret show that she found on fever. Loving vampire stuff I was eager to go and see an amazing show. Instead we paid $45 to see a show that looked like it was planned at the last minutes. There was barely a story line, the dancers were "meh" and Dracula.. Ill leave it at that. The venue wasn't the most organized but the staff was friendly/pleasant. The poor rating is mostly for the show, not the theater.

Connecting with other people and making new choices is good for the soul! You don't need to have any improv experience for a drop-in class or Level 1. You won't be the only one and you'll make new friends! Nothing cures a bad day or a bad mood like hanging out with like-minded individuals playing games and laughing til it hurts. Everyone involved with LOM is so welcoming and so unique. It's a beautiful community of artists and it's honestly changed my life. I can't say enough good things about them (truly!)!

My friends and I were at a bar randomly talking about improv and Googled classes in Brooklyn, and to our surprise/delight, LOM came up. Plus they're nonprofit, so classes are free if you sign up in advance! One class and we were hooked! Each "season" of classes is 4 sessions, and each class has a different theme. Add it all together, and you've got a hell of a base for future improv experiences. Nolan and Scarlett are the main teachers, and they're amazing. Their weekly icebreaker exercises are always fun and low-pressure, and they make everyone feel welcome. Well, as long as you're an adult. There are some NSFW language and themes not meant for kids. Speaking of work, they also do corporate events. I've been trying to get my company to bring them in for some team building and presentation skills classes, but we'll see. I should also mention the space. Classes and events take place at the Gemini and Scorpio loft (aka G&S) in Gowanus, which is beautiful. Beautifully adorned, air conditioned, with a rooftop area. I've also been to one of their Swordraiser shows, which was an excellent time. These guys sure know how to party! I'd give them a million stars if I could!

She didn't come with me, she merely put the session within reach and nudged me along my way. I'm so glad she did because it was such a unique enjoyable experience! For a cool $60 puppet (and a whole bunch of Muppet) enthusiasts get together for an afternoon of learning how to sculpt a puppet from foam. This idea may sound simple enough, but it includes sturdy foam blocks, knives of various sizes, scissors, sand paper, permanent markers, pastels, and some creativity on behalf of each participant. Come with an idea (a photo or sketch) in mind and Kevin (the master artist and creative director) expertly guides you through the rest. The session is slated for 3.5 hours, but time flies when you're having fun! In fact, I would have preferred another hour with time to decorate my creation - being able to add fur, hair, etc. would have been a bonus. However, I'm confident I can spruce up my Jersey girl puppet BrookeLynne with an old Snookie Halloween wig and some false eyelashes. I'm strongly considering going to another session and being a little more creative with what I sculpt. The animals all turned out fantastically! Go. Register for a workshop now.

I asked to have my payment put towards a future class over the phone. The person I spoke with did not seem to get what I was saying and ended the call. I emailed Lone Wolf instead and explained that I'd like to re-schedule. After a day I received a reply stating that I would not be able to re-schedule and that they had a no re-fund policy. I stated that I didn't want a refund, I just wanted the services I already paid for and wanted to schedule a future class. I was told that Lone Wolf had tried re-scheduling in the past and that it was a "Problem" for them, I was offered a discount of $15 on a future class. I asked how they can remember me and give me a discount but they couldn't remember that I'd already paid? It ended with me not getting a class scheduled and being out $65. Nowhere on their website does it state that you cannot re-schedule a class. Only that you can't get a refund. Big difference. In their defense, I canceled late so they could not fill the spot I left. In my defense, I booked that spot late the day before, so that spot wasn't getting filled anyway and they still had my money if I went or not. So buyer beware: If you have an emergency and can't make this class you can kiss your money goodbye.

She happened to coordinate with other professional string musicians to teach the camp for various levels of students. It was a great opportunity for my daughter who was 11 years old at the time to learn how to play with other musicians, practice sight-reading, perform a chamber piece, listen to other groups at the end of the camp, and socialize with her peers. It was a rewarding experience. A year later, my daughter's violin teacher who had better opportunities elsewhere moved away, and we were so lucky that Emily had room in her studio. Emily is a talented professional violinist with a wonderful musical background from established music schools and her passion for playing is inspiring. We have seen her perform in her professional string quartet in San Francisco -so wonderfully exciting. My daughter's violin abilities have greatly improved under her instruction in one year. Emily's Suzuki weekly instruction is thoughtful (tailored to the individual), patient, encouraging, effective, and inspiring.
