This has honestly been the worst experience I've ever had in over 10+ years of coming here. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and my entire family has always loved Candy's work but this experience completely changed my opinion. The biggest issue is that Candy does what she wants instead of listening to what the client actually asks for. When you try to explain what you want or correct something, she becomes defensive. At the end of the day, it's my hair, and if I'm paying over $200 for a color, I expect to be listened to and to receive what I asked for. What made the experience even worse was being told that "no one else will give you a better deal." That is not the way to speak to a paying customer. I have a friend who does my hair for $300 and actually listens to what I want and delivers better results. And unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be an isolated issue. While I was there, I heard another customer upset because she asked for a trim, yet her hair was being cut. When she questioned it, she was told, "Your hair was like that, it cut by itself." I was honestly shocked hearing that interaction. Candy, after all these years, I truly think it's time to either listen to your clients and respect what they ask for or consider stepping away from doing hair. Customers should never feel dismissed, blamed, or talked down to. I used to recommend this place because of how long my family and I had been coming here, but after this experience, I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. They just money hungry company! read more

This place is dirty. Like, I held my purse the whole time, dirty. Not up to code without question. The owner is questionable. I stopped in yesterday around 12:30 to have my hair done. "Heidi" was my stylist. I let her know my goals & she nodded in agreement many times. After a couple "I fix it for you" moments I was starting to get upset. She was very sweet but had no idea what she was doing with bleach/color. I ended up leaving at 4:30 in uncontrollable tears. She wanted me to stay & "fix it". but I had to pick my kids up from daycare so I paid Heidi, regretfully, my $120. After many tears last night, I decided to go back this morning to let her fix my hair. I arrived this morning around 11:30 & was greeted by the owner of the salon Vivian. Right away Vivian became very defensive & made it clear she was concerned about money. Vivian wanted me to pay another $150 to have Heidi fix the hair she ruined yesterday. We went back & forth with no solution. Heidi ended up adding more color to my fried hair (still not what I was asking for) & then tried to rush me out the door. I let them know I was very embarrassed to leave with the hair on my head & I received the silent treatment from the owner, receptionist & Heidi until we just left. It was an absolutely awful experience all the way around! My amazing spa day turned into a 2 day nightmare that I will end up paying someone more to correct the bad color job. Take my advice & keep driving. I'll add progress pictures. The first photo was yesterday morning not having died my hair in over 2 years...natural. This place is somewhere I have gone to for yearsss. I'm always a walk-in and I've never had an issue at this place for the past like 6+ years I've been. But today I was highly disappointed in their service. The girl who greeted us said 15minutes. I repeated and enunciated "15 minutes?" Because it was 2:30pm on a Saturday. She said yes. So we sat in the waiting area. Around 2:40pm a woman, who I think was a manager-ish level walked over to us saying we were next. I told her I just wanted a trim and she asked if I wanted shampoo wash and I said sure. She was working on it then left to take care of something else. I thought she'd be gone for a few minutes. A few turned into 10 or more minutes. Around 3:15 looked at my mom and asked her where she went. Mom didn't know. All this time, customers were walking in and out, she hadn't come back and I was still sitting at the wash chair with wet hair. I walked out of there with my conditioner filled hair and no workers bothered to stop me. read more

This place has a new owner! Debbie cut my hair and did exactly what I wanted and was really nice. I would recommend coming and asking for her. Candy is the new owner and she also does hair very well. I wouldn't risk it with the others. For nails, I would go to Naomi. She's the best nail person there and she also does eyebrow tattooing. Debbie is also good for nails. Will lie just to get you in. I called and asked if they have face and head massage in vietnamese. The old lady said yes, so i brought my girlfriend in along with me for a treat. Wrote a long review, had to shorten it: SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE! Two buddies and I (I'm Viet, one buddy is Viet, the other white) walked into the place, & like every small Asian business we got the stares, and I understand, we were 3 guys in a nail salon. They asked me what I wanted & I told them my buddy (outside smoking) & I wanted to get our feet/hands done & hair cut. The guy in the pic below (bald head in green shirt, someone said named "Minh") asked me to sit in the chair to get my cut first. He asked me who else getting work done, and I pointed outside to my cornfed buddy outside. "Minh" turned away from me and apparently was communicating silently with the guy-receptionist, where I saw his snide smirk. I'm Viet, and I know the first thing about my people: they are very judgmental, and every nail/hair salon often talks behind your back, or in front of you if you don't understand them. One thing about these salons is there are mirrors everywhere, and I caught a glimpse of his silent communication with the guy-receptionist that gave him the smirk. But, understanding how my people are, I dismissed that grody face he was making to the guy-receptionst. Before seeing the price charts on the wall, I asked "Minh" how much to get feet done. He told me he didn't know, that he thought it "may" be $25 PER FOOT. I'm usually not one to really question about prices, but I thought from my past experiences, $50 is a little high, so I told him "Wow, you sure man?", to which he responded that he THOUGHT so, cuz it costs MORE for men. Then I asked him how much for manicures, then he said $12. I clarified, "So it's $25 PER FOOT, plus $12 for manicure?". He responded yes. I went on to ask him whether the $12 was PER HAND, but my buddies walked back in, and the question just drifted. After my buddy was settled in, "Minh" continued by telling me that their salon does charge a lot more than the other salons, so that's why he had to tell me the price up front. He went on to give me some explanation, but I was too dumbfounded he would say something like that to me, I ignored. Haircut started, and small talk set in. I already knew I was getting taken, so I decided to bring up the fact that my girlfriend has a nail salon in another city, and that my other buddy there also has one in his family. He asked why we weren't supporting the family & we laughed it off. Haircut was done, and I ask to get washed, he quickly told me it will be $15 with wash. Walking to the wash stalls, I saw the 3 big price charts on the wall. So I told him I will take pictures of them so I can send to my girlfriend. After the wash, we went to the chair to get my feet done. I told him I just wanted the basic nail clipping for my feet, and he told me "Yes, the basic is $25". I said OK. He did my feet and another guy did my hands. My buddy had the same things done to him. While he worked my feet, I studied their price charts (a "Women Menu", a "Men Menu", & a "Nails" menu). I had already skimmed through the menus and had already noticed "Manicure & Pedicure $30", and there was no distinction fpr women or men. And I figured, if this was a reputable business, then they would have mentioned that somewhere on their menu. In any case, I let him know I was reading the nail menu by asking stupid questions like "Oh what's full set? What the heck is shelac?". After my buddy and I got done, we went to the counter. The guy-receptionist asked "Minh" how much to charge & wrote it down on a post-it. I saw: 35 35 15 15. He told me $100 for us. I paid, tipped each technicians, and we left. In the end, I still got taken. It should've been $30, NOT $35. I do believe there's a law against gender-pricing, but if it was posted, then I would have been fine with that. I texted my girlfriend throughout this whole ordeal & she was furious. But I just wanted to get this done cuz I've been procrastinating it. For me, $5 is not worth it. Heck, I would have paid $25 PER FOOT had that been posted just because I wanted it, and it's a small amount. But, what gets to me was his deceptive & shady practice. I don't care about the money. I wouldn't have cared if the menu said $200 for men, because if that's what I wanted, I would've wanted it. However, I'm writing this because the sign said $30, and had I not done what I did, I wonder what it could have been. It was an experience getting ripped off & watching to see how far this guy would go. I was texting with both my buddies as we were getting work done, and they both watched this guy's demeanors and reactions. It was funny & the entertainment was well worth the extra $10 I was ripped. I'm just wondering how many people he's done this to & to what extent (since he quoted me $25 FOR EACH FOOT at first). Usually the person collecting the money is the check-n-balance that's usually a family member, a manager, or an owner. But obviously, he was in it too. So, maybe this establishment is just a shady hell hole. read more
