I don't understand why he has so many 5 star reviews... If you can stay away from him, PLEASE DO! Our experience with him started off ok, but went downhill after just meeting him once. We contacted him back in February for our wedding in August. He literally just told us in May that he will not move forward with us... We are 3 months out from our Wedding and he just wasted 3 full months trying to get him to respond to our emails and texts. He is unprofessional and I really don't get why people like him.. First, if you have a minimum for how much is needed to be spent for your decorations. WHY NOT TELL US UP FRONT! Second, yes I get me and my fiance were going back and forth with some designs but it would have been nice for you to actually respond to our emails/texts to say if that would cost this much more or not. With you not responding to ANY EMAILS/TEXTS and basically have us try to pull teeth just to get a response from you, of course we would keep taking things away from our list of things wanted. With that note, I would also like to say his vision.. It's pretty much a joke.. if you look at all the pictures he has on yelp. They all look the same. Probably because he uses the same design for everyone.. He doesn't really change the style to match the couple. He showed us some pictures on his iPad, they even looked the same there. There was no change, which makes it seem like he doesn't even give an effort to decorating. One thing about his vision that really terrified me when he actually reached out to us, was that we told him we wanted a greenery theme and showed him how we wanted our centerpiece.... he sent us a picture of his suggestion for our centerpiece instead.. it was a jacked up box with our initials and some plants in there... like WHAT?! I get this was just a sample but wow.. I'll attach the picture to this just so everyone can see his actual work lol. Last thing that just really irked me, was just how he was unprofessional and would never reply to us. It took soo long just to get a quote and we would have to keep messaging him to get an update when I feel like we should not have to worry about that since we have many other things to worry about. Finally when we got our first quote, of course we decided to remove some things since we waited a month for that quote and we were able to find another way around doing some decorations. Waited another month for a new quote. Asked him for some pictures of what he was going to do for some of the items, but typical no response. We decided to email him once more, then call a few times, then text.. Till finally he had some excuse saying he's on vacation, but will decline us as a customer. Ok cool, everyone goes on vacation, but how about having a voicemail saying you're on vacation. Or how about even telling us you were not going to move forward with us BEFORE YOU GO ON VACATION. Now we are 3 months wasted talking to your imaginary email. Thanks for nothing. read more

I have no idea why people gave him 5 stars. Did they got a deal from mike if they give him 5 stars? He is the most UNPROFESSIONAL vendor i have ever met. I want to give ZERO star, if possible. Here's why: I contacted him for a quote. I went to allure flower(mike's office). He shares the same store/office as allure flower. His quote is average price. I decided to book his service because you can customize however design you like. I asked him to send me a written contract, then he told me that he promised me that he saved that date for me. I told him that i am uneasy with verbal contract. I need a written one. Every time i called him, he always said that he is busy with big event, bla bla bla (even on tuesday or wednesday) are you serious?? weddings always on weekend!!! 2 weeks later, after i called him many times, he finally sent me a written contract. When i open the contract, i was so surprised. His contract is useless with many wrong information. There are so many mistakes. The total quote is Negative value!! Can you believe that? It was crazy. So, i was being nice and called him to fix the contract. I waited another 2 weeks. He did not even call me or send me an updated contract. I gave him many chances to fix it, but he never appreciate what i did. I have wasted 5 weeks to deal with him. Please SAVE YOUR TIME by going to other vendor! I just had a wedding and went with Magic Moment Wedding Decor. Mike was very helpful on making our big day a special one! He worked around our budget and even made the wedding more beautiful than I would've imagined! He went above and beyond, he over exceeded our expectations. Our wedding was held in Stockton, CA at the Asia Palace. I have been to many weddings at this location and seen many types of decorations and setups. BUT by far our wedding was the best set up I have ever experienced at this restaurant. The restaurant had this hideous stage set up. Mike and his crew did an amazing job with the draping and the lighting was perfect! They transformed the hideous stage to a more than perfect heavenly like feeling canopy for my bridal party. Our guest at the reception were all "wow'ed" on how beautiful the place looked. Many compliments were given and we could not ever imagined anything more than what Mike and his crew did for us. Let's start off by saying that Mike definitely went beyond my expectations for my wedding. By the way, this review is long over due, wedding was in May. My bad. We had a few meetings prior to the wedding to give him an idea of what we wanted. My husband and I aren't the most creative type of people, we had basic ideas. Of course, we gave Mike the colors, but we weren't too detailed. He was so open to us decorating our own sign in table, and cake table though. We had consulted with other decorators, and some of them had a fit when I asked to decorate my own table. Can't a bride bring a bit of her own personality to her wedding? Anyways, Mike was good at communicating with me about his progress. He is extremely creative, and was able to change the restaurant to such an elegant reception. Colors were spot on. Our photo backdrop was his own design. It was very unique with a covering on top. We highly recommend Mike to anyone. read more

Let's start from the beginning... We went in to Mike's co-decorator's shop very budget-minded after reading such positive reviews online. Everything that you will have read here on this site and have heard from others is true - Mike, Aline, their crew, and their services are absolutely phenomenal. Mike - is the best guy ever. Not only is this dude incredibly talented, it's his personality that will truly win you over. His genuine concern for the success of your event is the first thing that will come across to you. Yes, he actually cares. He wants the event to be special for you and he will work to make this happen. A word of advice - come in with an idea, a design, a vision, a concept, a theme. This will ensure that Mike will be able to provide you exactly what you are looking for. I can tell you, without a doubt, that we weren't the easiest to work with. We changed our minds many times. We had a very strict budget (of course we went over in the end). We made Mike's life difficult. Yet, through all of that, he stuck with us and delivered. Mike has a very sharp eye. He pays attention to detail. He catches quickly what you are looking for and tries to cater to your needs. He has decorated for small, medium and big venues and he can tell you what will work and what will not work. Listen to him - Mike knows. We wanted to transform, within our budget, our wedding reception. We explained what was important to us and Mike came up with recommendations. There were a few things that we just couldn't afford such as full on wall and ceiling draping - Mike could do this - but we couldn't afford it. So he recommended a few changes to our venue that would make the biggest impact. Since we couldn't afford the entire place to be draped, Mike suggested we go with uplighting and his design for ceiling draping. The uplighting he used was bright and safe (make sure if you go with uplighting you know the type of lighting being used and the potential electrical and fire safety hazards). It helped make our background pop and we know that it adds the magic to photos. He also designed a standalone apple shaped draping to cover our dance floor that was truly magical. Now the real magic with Magic Mike is that he will work with you in any given environment. He came up with a few suggestions that really made our reception standout. He helped design and custom drape the entrance so we cut off the a view into the venue - it really added a "wow" factor to the design of our reception decorations. Secondly, if you can afford it, get the low line fog. We used it for our first dance.. and a few of the images we have found online are truly magical. I think this is the most important thing we want to you to know with this review. Whatever you envision, if you can put it into words or show Mike a picture, he will find a way to make it happen or come up with a concept to your liking. He truly is one of the most caring vendors we have worked with. We put our trust in Mike and he did not fail to deliver. Mike amazed me with all the wedding decoration he did for my wedding. Absolutly amazing! We had about 4-5 meetings before the wedding. I told him all the things that I liked and I wanted to be on my wedding. He loved to created new decoration and creation of his own to match whatever was in my head. He also facetime with me few times to see samples of the backdrop and decorations he made to make sure that was how I wanted it. On my wedding day, he came 3 hours early to start the decoration. Then he stayed all the way until the end to make sure things were running smoothly and perfect. He decorated my ceremony with crystal balls at the end of each rows of chairs; he builded the perfect head piece for the gazebo; he used a lot of crystals because he knew I like bling blings and he gave me a runner for the walk way. He builded a very nice photo backdrop, simple but elegant. He draped around my reception room with fabrics that has flower print on it, which make it look more fancy and elegant. For stage backdrop, he put crystal panel along the whole backdrop, also a nice head piece on top with LED lights. Then uplights all around, they could also change color to match the mood of each part of the wedding. Mike even put a light to shine at my cake table, which I didn't request him to. He put out fogs during my first dance and also for the party dance at the end. My guests loved the fog effect. He paid a lot of attention to small details and he knows, he knows how to make a wedding to look exordinarily good! All the pictures came out so nice with all the decoration in the back. Honestly, I still couldn't believe my wedding was that nice. It was like a dream wedding that I thought I could only have it in my head. Mike did it. He did a fantastic and exellent job. I have so many guests complimenting how nice my wedding was, and it was one of the best they've seen. Thank you Mike, you made my "once-a-life-time" perfect. It was a pleasure to hire Mike as our wedding decorator. He did our reception floor-to-ceiling drapery, uplighting, headtable, cake table, chair covers, cocktail tables, sign-in table, photo back drop, and fog effect for our first dance. He is very creative, we seat down a few times in person to talk about our plan. I have to deduct a star because there were a few times that it took him a few days to respond to my emails. I hate to admit this, but I was definitely a bit skeptical when I met Mike. He actually lives in the Los Angeles area, but handles decorations for many Chinese wedding events in the Bay Area. I was afraid that there would be a chance he would not make it to the wedding or he would skip out on the contract because he was based in L.A. and it would be hard to find him. However, Mike was such a pleasure to work with! He was always available by phone and text message. I was amazed that he even saved my number in his phone so when I called him, he actually acknowledged me by name instead of me having to awkwardly explain which client I was each time. He met me at the restaurant of our Chinese banquet and gave me the best suggestion for decorating the restaurant. He brought to my attention that I could rent floor length linens for each table to enhance the overall feel of the whole venue instead of using the free, white linens and putting on tacky, wrinkly chair covers. Mike has a love for fashion and design so when you choose your linens, he actually buys the whole roll of fabric and essentially makes the linens to order. On the day of the wedding, he was on time and professional. I didn't have the budget to tap into Mike's creative side, but if you have the budget, definitely go to Mike and give him creative freedom to decorate your wedding because he will truly amaze you. read more

Mike is such a wonderful wedding decorator! I'm lucky to have him helping with my wedding last month. I found Mike through internet and read some of his review. First of all, I didn't want to spend too much money on the wedding (It's not that I can't afford. But after all, weddign is a way to celebrate the big day in your life with family and friends. Feeling warm and happy is the most important thing, but not doing a luxurious wedding. After all, there are so many ppl in extreme povery in the world who need help. I'd rathe donate money to those poor little kids who starve.). I saw his review and his clients said his service is affordable besides great job, I want to give it a try. Mike immediately asked for seeing the wedding venue with me during our first phone call. He sounded responsible and professional. We met at the venue, he immediately gave his suggestions about how to do the decor. W gave him our budget and he showed the options he could do. It sounded good. He was nice and attentive. He mentioned that he did this job more out of interest than making money (of course he should lose money by doing this!) But he has his other jobs and he really likes to do the decor thing. I indicated that I wanted to use a small red entrance carpet for my wedding venue, and he tried his best to look for the thing I wanted. Bu it was not easy to find, he went out of his way to think about other alternative measures to solve the issue. I could feel Mike was very honest and sincere. We decided to use his service. We particularly asked for some lanterns to decorate the ceiling. He gave a very reasonable price, and brought in even better lanterns than what we agreed without charging more money. He brought extra lighting too for lightening up the banquet room. Th night came, the lanterns began to shine with colorful light. It was very romantic and pretty. Mike was very easy to work with. He really loved what he was doing and he really care about you as his customer even though you may never meet him again in your life. He cares about what you need and what is best for you. Mike exceeded our expectations. We had him do a backdrop, sweetheart table, and chair covers at a Chinese restaurant wedding reception in Cupertino. We showed him some examples of backdrops we liked. He picked one, adjusted it to our colors, and the final product looked amazing! We left the sweetheart table up to him, and he selected an awesome table cloth and design. The chair covers with sashes also looked much more stylish than we expected. He also suggested that we have our first meeting at the restaurant itself, which showed experience, because it meant he could scope out and plan exactly what to do. His prices were also very competitive. My only constructive criticism is that Mike can sometimes be a bit slow on email, but he makes up for that by being extremely responsive on text messages and phone calls (I rarely had to wait long for him to call me back), so once I adjusted to that, he was very easy to get in touch with to discuss changes and finalize designs. Mike is amazing. I thought he just did uplighting, draping, and decor, but he does so much more. He really listens to you and works really hard to make sure you have the most memorable event ever. He enjoys his work and it shows. I had a vision for the theme of my wedding based on a centerpiece I constructed myself, and I explained what I intended the room to look like. Then I found out that Mike does centerpieces as well, and I was so grateful! I showed him my dream centerpiece from Pinterest, and he not only reconstructed it, but he made it better than the one I saw based on what I wanted. He made the most beautiful manzanita centerpieces with fairy lights and crystals. Everyone who came to my wedding commented about these. The best part was he MADE my centerpieces for my wedding; it was less expensive than the prices I was quoted to rent these! And the guests got to take these home. Every time I look at the centerpiece I took home, I remember how enchanting my night was. Other guests told me they use the centerpiece as a night light when they need mood lighting. Mike even engineered a pearl pin switch so that guests could easily turn the centerpiece on and off. I don't know how he did it, but they look so beautiful. He had lots of suggestions for me while also listening to me: the perfect balance. The draping and uplighting made the community center where I held my wedding in to a beautiful event space. He worked with my budget and helped me figure out what would work in the space that I had. On my budget, we were only able to do one wall (the other walls were mostly windows), and that wall totally made the room look elegant. People were taking pictures next to the draping because the fabric was so beautiful. He did an amazing job setting up and cleaning up on time. He made the colors in the room really pop and look elegant at the same time. He has an eye for decor. It was so nice that he brought the centerpieces to the venue for me (when I tried to do my own, I'd have to lug these to and from the venue): with Mike, he created this, set these up at the venue, and was there at the end of the night so that guests could admire his work: they really did! He did such a professional job. It was fantastic to see all of the high centerpieces throughout the room. It really was a magical night thanks to Mike and his assistant! She was there and was really nice and helpful. It is really great to work with a vendor who gets you and is really sweet and honest. We pulled off such an amazing wedding that everyone kept commenting the night of and is still commenting at how beautiful everything was! The main factor that MADE our wedding gorgeous was the linens and uplighting provided by Mike. The fact that we had our wedding at a Chinese restaurant was not the best point to begin with. However, when I told Mike, I wanted the entire restaurant covered to make it look as Americanized as possible, Mike delivered! The blue uplighting was amazing. It gave the entire venue a warm, elegant, and beautiful atmosphere. We really couldn't have asked for more. The cocktail reception area was divided off and it looked amazing. I really couldn't express how thankful we were to have worked with Mike. We only expressed our basic wants and he created such an amazing outcome. To this day, all the friends and family that we have invited to the wedding still talk about how nice everything was. We owe it all to Mike! Mike and his helper did our wedding in Fremont on 12/12/16. They did a great job. We were on a budget and were doing the planning on our own to save money. We hired Mike to decorate. The agreement was to have some uplights and to cover some walls, tables, and chairs. Mike gave us a very reasonable price and made some promises to add his own personal touches to the event. HIS WORK WAS AMAZING!!!! Thanks for the follow through Mike. The lights, colors, and shading was much more than we paid for. He did his work and helped out with pointers on aspects of our event that he was not hired to do. He was set out to make my bride happy and was successful in his en devours. This is an Above and Beyond kind of guy!!!! Hire him!!!! I was skeptical in the beginning because the hiring process was a bit unconventional, but am glad we chose Mike in the end. read more
