Band is incredibly loud, very very limited seating, long slow lines for bar service. Prices looked decent but this just wasn't the vibe we were looking for. If we had noise reduction earplugs or were able to find seats then it would have made if more bearable. Crowd seems nice and friendly here but it just took much to long to get a drink. So if you're looking for a busy popular bar, this is definitely it. But if you're older like me looking for some comfort with your nightcap then I'd pass. read more

We've been to this spot a handful of times to watch friends perform and always have had a great time. Tip: get there early if you're hoping to snag a drink and a seat before the lines get crazy long! We watched The O'Connor Brothers band perform here during summer and showed up early enough to start a tab and sit at a round table with a clear view of the stage. Thank goodness for bringing earplugs - these sets almost always are extremely loud! I'd love it if they offered some at the door as an option for those who don't want their eardrums to burst. On Halloween weekend, Colony Funk was performing and it was jam packed when I showed up a little late, so I forwent the drink and stood amongst the large throngs of costumed humans. I love that it's free to enjoy the shows, they have a water station, and their drink list isn't too bad for cans and draft. I have yet to try the mixed drinks. read more

Great place to hang out with weekly live entertainment. It's a bar with finger food menus and wide selection of drinks. Two bartender, be mindful of the wait it could be hectic for any orders. Great service and plenty of comfortable seatings. read more

Giving 4 stars because my friends all had a blast. There is a parking garage right next to the elizabeth hotel in which you can park. You will get charged for parking however. Magic Rat is inside of the Elizabeth hotel. It has the free area and then from what i heard some kind of jazz room. They have a bar where you can get drinks and not sure what else. I didn't personally get anything. The venue was packed and loud. There were some folks dancing. Not many places to sit so if you go prepare for fact you may have to stand whole time and may not have a place to set anything down safely. The band was good but again VERY LOUD. Other than the small area folks were dancing it was pretty much standing room only. Was not personally a fan. BUT my friends all had a really fun time so giving 4 stars. read more

This place was super cool - so glad we spontaneously decided to check it out! The space is welcoming as is the staff. We snagged an open table outfitted with stools to spend an hour or so before our dinner reservations elsewhere. Their menu features their take on classic cocktails - funky revamps with lots of flavor and served beautifully. Additionally, there are select options of beer and wine in a can. We went for the cocktails since that seemed to be the right way to go. I had the God Save The Queen which had just the right hint of peach to make it a refreshing, but strong start to the night. My bf had the Mule, also good with a nice ginger beer to pack some punch. The Manhattan was enjoyed by my brother. My mom and her bf had Laguintas IPAs. Another bonus - bar snacks include complimentary freshly popped popcorn. Quality stuff right there! The space is somehow bright, yet moody. Intimate, yet spacious. They've really done well with the layout and decor, making it a really inviting space no matter what you're looking for nestled in the Elizabeth hotel. It has a classy vibe, but doesn't feel pretentious. If I lived in Fort Collins, I'd be a regular here. They also have live music (lineup is listed on their website). Sadly, we couldn't stay for the show the evening we visited. Can't wait to be back next year! read more

Was first given a glass that had red lipstick all over the rim. Went back to get another CLEAN glass and the bartender had to go through three other glasses before they found a clean one. And to add to the mix, it was a busy Saturday night and they had 2 bartenders during a night with live music. It doesn't take a genius to know that you need more staff and clean glassware to give your patrons. Won't ever come back and will be sharing with the world. read more

We come for the music and are grateful for another great place to enjoy local bands - don't expect a quiet venue where everyone is listening, most are at the bar, talking to their friends and enjoying music in the background. We find the drinks basic and uninspired (in some ways that's their vision - keep it simple). It's about time Marriott and The Elizabeth and The Magic Rat drop the straws ... at least two in every drink ... bummer. On request seems reasonable? This place will over charge an underwhelm you. We got a few drinks and the tab was outrageous. Drink prices are $10-12 a piece for something pretty basic. The staff was very unfriendly last night, and the whole vibe on a Friday night was sad. No live music and barely any radio music, just a cold dark half empty, overpriced bar last night. The music thing really bothers me, they are in a hotel that has music as a theme. There should be some form of music all the time. There is a popcorn machine and the lady working sprinted across the bar to tell us we can't have any while it's popping. read more

Very laid back, cool vibe and love the offering of free music. That's awesome. BUT the drinks are pretty pricey, and the stage setup is not good. It's oblong and facing what seems to be the wrong way. Yes, the music sounds great, but as other patrons have mentioned because it's so close to the bar what you contend with are a bunch of LOUD, oblivious, drunk people carrying on at the bar & it's a distraction that really kills the vibe & is super disrespectful to the artists. read more

Cool "famous hotel bar" feel without any pretentious vibe. I mean after all, this is still foco. The bartenders are so friendly and knowledgeable. They have sad panda on tap. Come as you are and feel fancy (and totally satisfied) sipping on "free money". Catch a impromptu local artist on a random Wednesday. Love the atmosphere and energy of this place. Now the drink prices are too high, the popcorn maker is gone, the music is too loud and the servers are gone. Only a bartender or two regardless of the crowd. Bring earplugs. Eat first.
