Magic Touch was recommended to me by a friend when she found out I worked across the street, and it's honestly the best bikini wax I've ever had. Genia is super sweet and so fast (which is crucial to a good wax) - and honestly, this was about as pain free as you can get for a bikini wax. Prices are totally cheap, and granted you're not getting spa like ambience (they're located in an old school medical building) but who cares? The place is extremely clean, the waxers are amazing, and they always tell you that you are beautiful and encourage you to take a cookie or candy on your way out. Also, I really liked that I went to Genia once in July, then didn't go again till October and she still remembered exactly who I was over the phone, and got me in to see her in 20 minutes. I found this salon online on a Byrdie article naming the best waxing salons in LA. I made an appointment based on its excellent Yelp and google reviews. However, I was very concerned when I looked up halfway through my wax and noticed the technician was not wearing gloves. If you scroll through past reviews, other lower ratings mention the technicians double dip as well, which I was not paying attention to. There are many infections that may be transmitted by this method including herpes, staph aureus, HPV, and more. The technician is quite nice however their standards of sterility are frankly unacceptable. read more

I usually don't waste my time sharing yelp reviews, but this woman truly deserves it. I am going to cry when Natasha retires because in my 20+ years of waxing, I have never found anyone as good as her. I fly down from Seattle every two months or so (yes her wax jobs last that long- even for girls with thick black hair like me) because, I still haven't found anyone up there that can do half as well (since 2016). COVID-19 even had me considering the idea of flying one of my own aestheticians down to train under her so I can get a decent wax job up there. Natasha is quick, painless, and unbelievably cheap for her quality of work. I spend three times as much in repeat waxes to achieve the same effect that I would get from her service over the course of two months (as illustrated by the pandemic when I couldn't fly down). As for concerns with safety, the vast majority of viruses denature and most bacteria die if kept at 140°F over 30 minutes. I dare to say that we're fine. In the 10+ years I've gone to her, I'm still HSV1/2 sero-negative. I will keep going back to her and have no problems doing so. Anyone who plans on leaving less than a five star review on this salon should not even bother and never come back. We can't afford to lose this salon. read more

I have never walked out somewhere mid-service before visiting this salon. "Magic" Touch Waxing Salon is unsanitary, unsafe, and the owner takes no responsibility for her actions. My esthetician Natali gave me first degree burns...please see the pictures and doctors note attached. I couldn't bare the pain and stopped my service after waxing just the front of my left leg. They still charged me $40. I went back to talk to Genia (the owner) about my burns. Instead of apologizing, she started screaming at me, making excuses, and even threatened me with her "famous lawyer son". I was seriously taken aback. I have never dealt with such an unsympathetic and unprofessional business owner. Oh and the cherry on top-- they double dip the wax. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

As luck would have it, after writing a review for my old wax place, I decided to call and make an appointment, only to find out that after over 20 years of business she was closing down. So of course, I felt lost and was desperately scrambling to find somewhere else. Based on Yelp reviews, I found this place, which ironically, is literally across the street from my old place. It definitely helps me out since my manicurist is next door, and I only live a few blocks away. She was very sweet and so I booked my appointment. A very nice lady named Natasha was my waxer. I haven't gotten a wax in ages, and so while a bit painful, she was amazingly fast. I had planned on going in simply for a brazilian, but ended up getting my upper legs done as well, and she finished EVERYTHING in 30 minutes.
