When I walked in, Felicia told me I was 15 minutes late. I explained I'd rearranged my schedule to accommodate her request. She shrugged and said "too bad, I already booked someone afterwards.". It wasn't until I was in the room that I checked the reminder email -- original appointment: 10:50. So by her own scheduler, I was 7 minutes late, not 15. Felicia eventually gave me an extra 5 minutes to make up for the mix-up, and I appreciated that. But the cold, dismissive way she started the appointment stayed with me. That's not how you treat someone who's followed you for 15 years. Part of why I see Felicia specifically -- and not one of those high-volume places with curtain walls and hospital beds for tables (you know the ones) -- is the whole experience. A facial should be calming and restorative, and Felicia's warmth has always been as much a part of that as her technique. When that warmth disappeared at the door, it colored everything that followed. The facial itself was top notch. Felicia is genuinely skilled, stays current on products and techniques, and can deliver a top-notch treatment in her sleep. I hope this was an off day, because the person that greeted me at the door was not the warm person that I've been loyal to for a decade and a half.

The space is still extremely clean and welcoming in shades of gray, white and silver. As expected, Jefrey is there to greet you and go over what you want done before proceeding. The table is very comfortable, and his demeanor puts you at ease right away. This was my first Oxygen Facial so I was looking forward to this. I just knew to tell him no glycolic acid, and we were good to go. The formulas felt amazing from the cleanser to the moisturizer, and everything in between. The brush he used to apply the product was even relaxing. He did some manual extractions which didn't hurt as much as I thought they would; I really had some around the nose area which is common, but his technique was extremely gentle. RF (radio frequency) was another highlight; I don't think I ever had this done before but it was a cool feeling. My favorite part was the oxygen blast to the skin which was really refreshing. An hour here really showed a difference; the benefits were immediate, and I couldn't be happier. She took such great care of my skin, and cleaned all my pores. After, she applied the HiFu machine. HiFu stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It stimulates collagen, which tightenined and lifted my skin. It especially helped my jawline! We made sure I was comfortable, and even at the highest and most effective setting it was smooth! Akemi has such a great touch. I felt very safe with her, and I also had no downtime. My skin felt soft with no annoying redness the next day. Akemi was so accommodating, and my skin is so much tighter now. I would recommend going in with Akemi 1-2 times a month with the HiFu treatment! I love it.

Cannot say enough about this awesome gem in the heats of Beverly Hills. Natalie's crew has been waxing and providing skin care to celebrities, visiting dignitaries and "the upper class" of this hood for over 30 years- but I wandered in from a referral and was treated just as top notch as you might imagine Meryl Streep or JLo might be! Parking is plentiful on Beverly or amy of the side streets; there's wifi and cookies and a water cooler to chill while/if you wait, and prices are pre-covid - what a treat! BONUS: it's in a mid century old school marble and chrome mid century, modern masterpiece straight of the 1940's - 1960's... breathtaking. It's like taking Doc's time machine back to 1955! BEST WAXING PLACE EVER. They are fast, not too expensive, lovely russian women (Margarita is the best), clean, easy to park at, PAINLESS. Seriously, I've gone everywhere and this is my favorite. Now, I don't even check her work: I trust her completely! In addition to her waxing services, I visit Tina every few months for a facial. She does an excellent job with my skin: her peels and extractions make me look younger, healthier and more well-rested (even if I'm not!). The secret bonus to her facials are her incredible cranial, facial and neck & shoulder massages. The most important thing she did was create a skin care plan and product arsenal for me. I have a cleanser , a cream , an eye cream and a toner and a once weekly mask. Samantha, and Hunnyfied was an incredible choice and one I'll always be grateful to have made. My pores are smaller , because they are clean. I can't recommend Simin highly enough! She is not only the best in LA - I am sure she is one of the…read morebest in the world: LA is my hometown but I have lived in different states as well as many years abroad in different countries, and I basically gave up on trying to find a waxist anywhere else. No one measures up to Simin -- they're either not properly equipped, don't know what they're doing, or are outrageously priced. Simin offers quality and value. She's experienced and has been operating from the same location in Westwood for decades. She uses only high quality fabric strips and melted European honey wax (as well as pink wax for sensitive areas). She's very thorough, but you can also look yourself over and let her know if she missed any spots and she's always happy to go over them again; she even takes the time to tweeze hairs here and there that are too short to be waxed. As I noticed other Yelpers have already pointed out, she's very good with hygiene and maintaining her work space so her salon always feels clean. And what really seals the deal are how reasonable her prices are. Most of the times I've made the mistake of trying to get waxed elsewhere I've been (sometimes literally) sorely disappointed. On the few occasions I've had decent results, it was never good value like it is with Simin. I refer her to all my girl friends and know how loyal her clientele are because just like me they don't go to anyone else but her. So for years every time I am back in town I make sure to schedule an appointment with Simin, otherwise while I am away I try various methods of self grooming at home (even though Simin often scolds me for shaving as she can tell on my next visit when my hair is "razor cut"). It helps too that Simin is flexible with appointment times, and in the past she even accommodated me with evening appointments when needed. Lastly, Simin is very personable, taking the time to get to know you and always remembering where you left off the next time she sees you even if it's been months! She's funny, posh, & cultured. It always feels like visiting an old friend and I know she's going to take good care of me every time. **** Just a small extra piece of advice: be sure to read the street parking signs carefully because they do ticket like crazy in Westwood :P
