Great experience for my daughter, who got her legs waxed for the first time. Fast and easy and as painless as possible.

While the service was fast and efficient, it is not sanitary. Double dipping is a violation in California. The technician is nice, so I don't want anything bad to happen to them. However, it is a violation, and if someone were to get sick as a direct result of their practices, they would be sued and fined. They did not tell me it was cash or check only, so I had to run around to get cash to pay for the service. It would have been fine if they told me upfront, as I would have been able to go somewhere else, but they did not tell me until after the service. I will not be returning, and I suggest that you find somewhere else to go for your waxing needs, as well. I will be scheduling an appointment with my doctor to make sure that their unsanitary practices have not affected me. read more

I went to this place for a full on brazilian wax on a recommendation that the price was pretty decent and the service was fast. While both of those are important factors, the number one thing I look for is cleanliness. You CAN get an STD or other infections from waxers who double dip. And do not let a waxer tell you that bacteria/ viruses do not grow in wax, because THEY DO. In order to kill viruses and bacteria in wax pots, the wax must be heated to a temperature that would scald your skin and give you third degree burns. (Don't believe me? Check out the Dept. of Consumer Affairs website) With that said, let me tell you the low price is NOT worth what you are compromising: YOUR HEALTH! First of all, THEY DOUBLE DIP!!! That is ILLEGAL in California and in Los Angeles. Second of all, they use the same wax applicator. It's a metal spatula that they keep in the communal pot of soft wax. GROSS! (Side note, soft wax tends to be more painful than hard wax for bikini waxes) Third, the waxer made me bleed (and I do not bleed normally from waxing), and she re-waxed the area. Lastly, the waxer went over very large sections to save some time which = intense pain!! These people are not about providing as much comfort as possible. It's all about moving as many customers through their doors as possible. I asked her to stop. I paid for the service and left writhing in pain. My lady parts were sore for a few days after. I also went to the gyn to make sure that things were okay down there after what the waxer did. I seriously recommend paying a little bit more and going somewhere that does not double dip. At first, she told me to just relax, but when I let her know I was serious, she stepped out and let me put my clothes back on. I think you get the picture... read more

I went to this place because it had such good reviews. I was quite disappointed. This was the most painful waxing experience of my life just tree days later I had hair growing back. The red bumps took two days to go away and my technician used a Rite-Aid brand aloe vera.I wasn't asked about any allergies that I may have or any other what I thought were standard questions for a new waxing client. There were no questions asked other then my name when I arrive. She hauled me off into a room, instructed me to take off my clothes from the waist down and spread em. Yes it was quick, but not thorough, she used her bare hands and left me with a strong unsanitary feeling. The wax was of a poor quality and I didn't even get to know her name! read more

I don't know who this "Lindsay C" person is that wrote a bad review, but I don't think they're being honest. I've been going to Magic touch for 2 years, and when I occasionally have to go somewhere else, I regret not waiting for Magic touch. They use honey wax, which is the most gentle you can use. They're super quick, super thorough, and if you want them to use gloves, just ask. Lindsay, most waxers don't use gloves because the friction freakin' KILLS so they use anti-bacterial solution, but then again, this must've been your first wax or you'd know that (no offense). I've never had any wax grow back after just 3 days...I don't think this is even possible, although Ruth's skin care grew back after 1 week, whereas Magic touch has always taken a minimum of 2 weeks to even start growing back. Anyhow, $40, almost pain free, quick as shi+ and no bad after effects. Can't beat em!!!! read more

VERY professional, GREAT prices, and PAINLESS!!!...i was SHOCKED!! you see i am 8 months pregnant. the last place i went to did an absolutely horrible job and didnt care to hold my skin down or anything. At Magic Touch Waxing Salon, (mind you i had not had a brazilian wax in 3 months, thats enough time to turn into a beast AND its almost like getting your first one, but just knowing what the pain is going to be like) ...so back to my experience, i am 8 months pregnant. the wax was finished in under 20 minutes!!! she was very generous with the amount of area she waxed, and very professional and sweet! It is high time I write something about Genia and Magic Touch. I have been coming here for twenty years. Never an in-grown hair. Very few times have I had broken hair after waxing there. Reasonably priced and I gain the benefit of Genia's gimlet eye. She is the smart Russian Jewish Grandmother I never had. I had one period of not going to Magic Touch. I have been coming here for years and I will not get waxed anywhere else! The Russian ladies here are down to business, fast, friendly, and thorough. They really get the job done, but it is not for the meek..the medical office atmosphere can be frightening. The office is also somewhat hard to find in the building. And be prepared to look for metered parking and have cash ready. But the waxes are worth it. The ladies will tell you you are beautiful, even as you are bearing all on the paper sheet covered table, and they make you feel super comfortable! This place really is the best waxing salon in terms of the waxing you will get but if you are looking for a spa-like environment this is not it! This was the absolute WORST place EVER. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Let me explain..... So the only reason I decided on getting my first ever Brazilian wax here was because of the reviews. Everyone said this place is wonderful and super cheap... the 2 things I was looking for. So let me begin. There is no parking anywhere! I finally find a parking garage 2 blocks down... every 15 min, its $2. Outrageous, seriously. So I walk in and it is worse than a hole-in-the-wall type of place, super sketchy as hell. After 5 min of waiting a woman comes out of a room and introduces herself as Natasha. A few minutes later a lady comes out of her room. Once the lady before me leaves we walk into that same room. She never changed the paper on the table or the stick she was using on the previous lady. So I tell her this is my first time and she says UhOh, this is going to hurt. So she tells me to undress and starts away. Mind you, she is not wearing gloves at all! Are you kidding me? So she starts and ouch it hurt bad. She is running her hands throughout the inside of my vagina... WITH NO GLOVES ON!! Then the wax starts to get really hot so I tell her. She says oh no it shouldn't be hot, and then from then out all she does it blow some air on my skin and continues putting the extremely hot wax on. Needless to say, I walked out of there in 15 minutes with 2nd degree burns, hairs still left on my vagina that she never plucked or waxed out, and bleeding everywhere. Please think twice before trusting people on this site. read more

Used to love this place. Great price, SUPER fast and the waxers know what they're doing....or so I used to think. First of all, it grosses me out that they double dip and in fact I've never seen them switch out sticks in the wax. Also, the women really get up in it when they're waxing you, but then they'll answer the phone....with their hands....that were just...yeah, gross. I was willing to turn a blind-eye to these less than sanitary conditions, however, due to the ability their waxers have of waxing you with minimal pain. Unfortunately, over the holidays I went to get a bikini wax with VERY specific instructions about what I wanted left. After taking 2 phone calls she must have been distracted because all of a sudden I feel hot wax where I specifically said I did NOT want to be waxed. Yep, she gave me the Kojac! She was SUPER apologetic and looked like she expected me to freak out. I would have appreciated a discount for the mis-hairhap, but instead she just gave me a sample of stuff to prevent ingrown hairs. Not the best trade-off in my opinion. read more

And even though I've never got any sort of STD or infection, knowing that you can, is enough for me to go some place else.
