I just called to make an appointment on a Sunday- yes on a Sunday. I get an answer and I kindly asked if they are open today or taking any clients- and the response I get is, "hmm today is Sunday.... Do you work on a Sunday?" I cannot believe how rude! First of all- all you had to do was either 1. Not answer the phone or 2. Esther is my girl! I have been going to Esther for over 5 years after I used her Groupon. She makes the drive from South LA to Beverly Hills worth it. She's quick and painless and knows what she is doing. Very sweet lady who doesn't realize how funny she is sometimes. My hair is really curly and Esther has never been fazed which is why I only feel comfortable around her. She can do a brazilian in about 15 minutes, after awhile she even started waxing my happy trail with no extra charge, other places will charge and extra 5-7. Her armpit wax is painless too! Quick, Clean and Efficient! There's a peace when you walk in her office. Your spirit is calmed as you lay down for some of the most tolerable and fast pain ever. It's not as painful as most but honestly there is no preparation for Brazilian waxing. However Esther powders you up to ease the pain and she moves so quickly that before you can react to the pain it's over. She's sweet as pie and extremely efficient. She's professional yet personable and will get you together on a lunch break and you'll still have time to grab a bite to eat. I purchased the Groupon for one Brazilian wax. I got an appointment on a Saturday and it went very well. Esther seemed busy and had back to back appointments. I did not wait too long in the waiting room, which was very nicely decorated. I was greeted warmly by Esther and was made to feel comfortable. It was all over within 15 mins and Esther was very quick and efficient, so the pain was not too unbearable. Overall, one of the best Brazilian I've had. Bikini ready for the beach and pool! Had a Groupon - so made an appointment easily over the phone. Parking is a little tough in this area of BH, but I got lucky and scored a metered spot nearby. There is a garage and valet in the building, but I don't think Esther validates. Esther's Place location isn't really what you expect - it looks more like a medical office building, but the actual office is clean, well organized and the shared space is efficient and welcoming. Service was quick, professional and as comfortable as possible. If you live or work in the area and see a good deal for this place, I'd recommend you get on it. read more

3 words to describe Esther: Meticulous, Experienced, and Kind I moved to LA a few months ago and was having trouble finding a good wax place. I tried a place in Salon Republic and I even gave European Wax Center a shot. Unfortunately neither of those met my expectations of what a good wax is: quick, painless, and flawless and if you're me than a good wax is also affordable. My wax with Esther was all of the above. I found Esther through a Groupon and decided to give it a shot. I called her and was able to book an appointment the same day (due to a cancellation) an drove over to her. Parking was fairly easy as there are multiple options to park, street parking, meters, and garages. I parked on the street in a 1 hour parking spot and made my way over to Esther. Esther and her dog Emma greeted me at the door and we got right to it. If you don't like dogs that's okay, Emma is super calm and lays in her bed while her mom works. However, if you love dogs (like me) you will love Emma as she is super sweet and friendly. Esther took her time doing my wax, she made sure that there was no hair left and that it was as painless as possible. Back in my hometown I had found someone who did hard wax and I loved it, I felt that it was the most painless method out and had been looking for someone to do hard wax here who could meet the price from back home ($40). I was scared about wax with Esther because she uses soft wax but let me tell you, I AM SO GLAD I TOOK A CHANCE. It barely hurt if at all, and because Esther is so experienced she made whatever pain there was very manageable. To say the least, I left extremely happy and ready to write her a review so everyone can experience an amazing wax from her. The crazy part is that each time after the last two waxes I tried at Salon Republic & European Wax Center, I left feeling sore and when I left Esther I honestly couldn't even feel anything, it was almost as if I had never gotten a wax. I was pretty bummed after I read reviews about the sanitation of her practice. Esther uses gloves, her studio is clean, there's really nothing to complain about and for those who did I think that if they're going to have such high expectations and demands than they should consider going somewhere that charges for location rather than what you're actually getting. With that being said, however, I was really grossed out by her use of a metal spatula that she re-dipped constantly. Also, it wasn't clear if this was the SAME spatula she used on every single customer? Either way, I thought Esther was really lovely and sweet. She is a very nice lady. Fastest Brazilian I've ever gotten. I got lucky and she was able to accommodate me with a same day appointment. I was in and out in fifteen minutes and it was almost painless! The only reason why I gave her three stars was for hygiene purposes. She uses a new wooden application stick per customer (which is a must) but then uses that same stick the entire waxing process! Basically she used one wooden applicator during my entire waxing process rather than using it, tossing it away, and then grabbing a new one. I cringed looking at that wax pot thinking of how many applicator sticks outside of mine have been in there. She's a sweetheart but I don't think I'll be coming back. I agree with the majority of these reviews! Esther is sweet and nice and her waxing is completely painless. Her prices are competitive with others as well. Love that her cute little dog greets us too. The minus one star is because I do understand the concerns about hygeine. She does not wear gloves and I didn't get a chance to see how her wax is and what she uses. I can only assume that she knows what she is doing because she has been doing it for so long. I was happy with the result and will probably come back. Parking is free in the building on weekends but is just street parking on weekdays. You will be in and out in 15 minutes so if you want to park at the Chase next door that should also be ok if you go use the ATM or something. read more
