You really have to give credit to having someone show up to perform, as opposed to having people go somewhere to see a show, because it is definitely harder to round up the latter. As such, it was a packed house. I haven't seen a live magic show or even a single trick for at least 5 years, and though I'm old asf now, Magic Ian reignited that feeling of childlike wonder everyone works so hard to forget about. One of my coworkers said they were expecting "clown magic" but this is not it. These are legit close up illusions. They involve the audience and it doesn't matter where you sit. I saw Ian perform when I attended my friend's 6-year-old daughter's birthday party. Wow! His show entertains the kids but will amaze adults as well. In fact a lot of his humorous patter will only be understood and appreciated by grown ups. Doves and snakes appear out of nowhere, furniture floats in mid-air and wedding rings vanish then reappear right before your eyes. There is a good amount of close-up magic with cards too. Both kids and adults are mesmerized by his magic. He gets audience members to participate with him for many of his tricks. And - at least at this performance - he made balloon animals for the kids at the end of the show. A slick, humorous magician who is a pro, doing everything from birthdays to Vegas.
