    Kids burger plate
    Sharon N.

Apparently there are 3 locations to this establishment and I just now tried it!?!? The prices are super reasonable! The kids burger meal was very filling and no way looked like a kid could finish it. I love beer battered fries. You can swap out your side on any entree or kids meal. The bowl of tomato pesto soup was delicious and super warm and surprisingly BIG. it was definitely more than a "bowl size" at most locations. Oh and their ranch tasted home made- yummy and thick. No extra charges for sauce too. They happily added onions to my kids burger when I got the food, I was delighted that it was crispy onion strings! My friend had the Denver omelette-- it looked delicious and love that they serve breakfast all day! However there are only like 3 items for breakfast on their menu. My other friend got the chicken Marsala -- the mushroom sauce on top of the chicken and mashed potatoes looked so yummy and I was surprised it still came with a side! By the way these fresh cheese rolls were also something worth mentioning- but I notice they do vary in size. Soup comes with 2. I saw one employee getting some ready to go into the oven when we were at the counter ordering. I need to come back and try the chocolate cake that I hear they are known for! This location is in a strip mall so plenty of parking. Lots of seating and the wait for food was minimal. We were the only ones there when we arrived on a Wednesday at 6. It did look like there were a handful of take out orders. Definitely will be back. Definitely recommend.

I love this local restaurant for their homestyle cooking and their top-notch service. Everyone there is always so kind. Today was no exception. As I walked out with my to-go meal, someone ran after me because they had filled my box with more fries (because he didn't think there was enough in there), but had forgotten to put them back in my bag. The restaurant was filling up for dinner time, but my order was ready right when I got there. The golden, beer battered fries are crunchy with the perfect center and worth the trip alone. Even with ordering pick up, they were still crunchy when I got home. I order mine with their homemade fry sauce. I'm pretty sure they mix it with some of their homemade BBQ sauce. So divine! The other real winner here is the side salad. I fear in talking it up too much, they may alter their prices, but it's a great deal and an amazing side for only an additional $2.99! I ordered the chicken fingers kids meal, which I should've tackled first because my meat was borderline dry, but still good, by the time I got to it. The side salad is fresh, colorful and served along with their homemade dressings. I went with ranch tonight. Provolone & Asiago cheese, cucumbers, mushroom, tomato, salami, lettuce, carrots all a top fresh lettuce (not like the bagged kind from the store). A great stop to make in both Lindon and Provo alike. I did not dine in tonight, but the ambiance is simple and welcoming. *I didn't order the chocolate cake tonight, but do not leave without it. Dense and the perfect amount of chocolate! Share with a friend! Or pretend you're going to, until you take a bite.

Super yummy and fresh breakfast! Their French toast is so good with their berries, whipped cream, and homemade buttermilk syrup. The whipped cream is absolutely fresh and delicious. The syrup is served super warm and adds such nice flavor to the French toast. The candied bacon is to die for! It's crisp and has the perfect amount of sweetness. It is definitely some of the best bacon in town! The scrambled eggs were pretty good too. :) so glad we came here for breakfast. Service was great too. Will be back soon!

Meh! They're a classic Utah county go-to and not my fave. Unsure if it's the location, but they're basic bland flavors for breakfast and nothing to write home about.

Overall, it was a breakfast stop that worked with decent value. Food (3.5): French toast was good, sweet, and bottomless. The breakfast burrito was OK but not great. Their coffee was single serve off the Kerig machine. Service (3): right because you get the food delivered, and that's it.

I really tried to like this place...but I have to be honest…read more Let's start with the good--the bbq vibe was strong (country music, chalkboards with drawings, bbq smell wafting thru the air). Now for the not-so-good. We usually call ahead because we have a few family members with food allergies. We called ahead and everything sounded kopacetic. We arrived and ordered our food. One member of our 6 person party ate a couple of fries (which she asked about ahead of time due to her allergies) and she noticed something different about the fries. We asked one of the workers if they put something on the fries because they were crispy on the outside. The worker said "I don't think so." We asked if he could check to be sure so he went to ask. He came back and said "it's just crispy coating." So again we asked "can you tell us what is in the crispy coating because we are trying to avoid an allergic reaction." He replied "it's just crispy coating I don't know what's in it." So we asked "is there anyway you can find out what's in the crispy coating?" He replied "there is definitely a way to find out." He goes to the back...again. When he returns he says, "we fry the fries in a fryer with our chicken tenders. I would suggest not eating the fries." His suggestion is well-taken but we still don't know what's in the 'crispy coating.' When we were ordering, one member in my group asked for the two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs. The menu says "pork ribs." The worker said "We don't have pork ribs. We have ribs." So ribs it was. Giving a little room for grace, he was a young man who seemed to be new. BUT if you are at the cash register taking orders, you really should know what's on your menu. As for the food, it was disappointing. Portions were small. For the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, I was given one piece of brisket and a small hot link. To be fair, the menu says "8 oz" for the two meat plate so you kind of know what you're getting. When the order comes out, it looks very small. The brisket was a little on the dry side. The hot link was tasty but small. Buyer beware. TLDR; not coming back

They used part of the balance, couldn't figure out the rest, and made me wait over an hour for a manager! That hour completely ruined our lunch plans. As if that wasn't enough, they also messed up our food order, and instead of simply fixing it, the food runner argued with us about it. The worst part wasn't the mistakes--it was the complete lack of accountability. No apology, no urgency, and no one seemed to know how to resolve even basic customer service issues. I recommend joining the waitlist in advance. It's tough to choose from such a wide range of delicious options, but my go-to pick is always the Mixed Berry Dutch Baby, Baby! The berry syrup and cream cheese topping set it apart from other breakfast places. We also had the Classic Breakfast Special, with crispy bacon cut thick to perfection. The interior is one of the most distinctive things about the place. Nearly all the Art Deco furnishings, the booths, mahogany paneling, black glass counter, and light fixtures, were salvaged from Lamb's Grill, a Salt Lake City restaurant that had operated since 1919 before closing in 2017. Eating here feels a bit like dining inside a piece of Utah history. The service is usually excellent, and you can tell they take the motto behind their name seriously: "True service is true religion." This visit, our waitress did seem in a rush to turn the table, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook. Worth noting: they run a Second Chances charity that supports people in recovery from addiction, those reintegrating into society after incarceration, and folks rebuilding after financial hardship or other life challenges. It's a meaningful mission, and it's part of what makes this place feel different from your average breakfast spot.

However, it is 50°, I'm dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, and I would be uncomfortably chilly having to sit outside. But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

Ocotillo specializes in the cuisine of Sonora, Mexico, a region known for bold meat and seafood dishes. They also offer a daily brunch menu that is worth planning your weekend around. We ordered the tres leches pancakes, a triple stack that delivers exactly what the name promises. Arrachera steak strips, chilaquiles made with poblano chile, a tamal de elote, and two eggs.
