Let me start by saying--I love my breakfast food. I have high standards. This breakfast burrito-- Very very hearty and I loved the sweet bacon on top. Can't go wrong for breakfast here!

    Breakfast burrito with hash browns

I typically avoid waking up in the morning because it's an overrated part of the day, however, I woke up this morning wanting Magleby's. Being an avid burrito enthusiast I had to go with the breakfast burrito! That piece of bacon on the top is the single best piece of bacon I have ever eaten. It was sweat and easy to chew! I'll daydream about that bacon going forward in life. The burrito itself was a spectacle to behold and to savor! Mixed with cilantro, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole this was close to a masterpiece. I left filled and satisfied to the point I took a five hour nap! The staff were polite, friendly, and the service was quick! I appreciate the small menu because you know whatever you get will be quality and it's easy to choose what to eat! As much as I loathe waking up in the morning, I did enjoy the early atmosphere of Magleby's. It was peaceful to the point you could hear the staff prepping food and talking with the customers. The amount of light felt soothing to the eyes! If I had an apartment above Magleby's, I would become a regular in the morning before I would have to work! Well done!

    Buttermilk Pancakes

I always get the bottomless pancakes at maglebys and what a deal. The pancakes are soft and pillowy and sweet with the syrup. And the employees are kind and get you as many refills as you want. The resturant is packed though but we were able to find seating.

There was a worker there named Nico who was so kind and experienced, I would definitely go back especially if I could see him again! I would suggest giving him a raise cause he's the only reason I go there!

    Paper Plates! highly disappointed

This review is coming from just this last month visits. Coming in twice a week... lately the quality has been taking a dive. The crispy onions on my salad have been soggy. The protein/steak has not been consistent. I even order the larger salad to get more protein but the amount is just as much as a half salad. Pretty disappointing. Fish in chip have more batter than fish. Literally searching for the fish in my fish and chips. Way too much batter in comparison to fish. Today of all days it was my friend's birthday and we were served in paper plates! I don't even use paper at my home party's. I come to Maglebys bcz the quality and and lately it's just been very very disappointing. They need to get a hold on the flies.. way too many flies. Maybe clean doors a little more use a better all purpose cleaner to help from flies wanting to land on tables all the time. I will have to try Springville and hope it's better.

Don't get the fish and chips. That being said, this place isn't....great, I'd say it's adequate. Maybe we ordered the wrong stuff, but my wife ordered the fish and chips and they looked more like corn dogs. The chicken tenders were good and they have the battered fries, which are too tier fries. The tables were clean, the service was good as well. I'll have to come back and order something else and update my review, but so far, this place is adequate.

Chillllllleeeeee... let me tell you. I don't know what else they serve on this here menu but it was recommended to try the chocolate cake here and it did not disappoint. I mean it was slammin! I didn't even look at the menu. The chocolate cake was lined up ready waiting for me to arrive. I didn't even make it out the parking lot before I tried my first bite. It was moist. It was not too sweet. It was perfection. I mean.... Best chocolate cake I've had in a while. The atmosphere of this place reminds me of Polly's pies back home on california. It's almost like a diner bit is big enough to look more like a restaurant. But it definitely gives diner vibes. None of that mattered to me because this damn cake!!! This cake is by far better than any pie I've had at Polly's. I couldn't even finish it because the slice was humongous. This was definitely a treat. So glad I stopped by.

    Bottomless buttermilk pancakes
    Brynn J.

I had to meet someone here for a business meeting- wasn't super thrilled about having to meet here. I ate here like 8 years ago and wasn't a fan. This time- I ended up ordering the Pancake dish... did I mention it was bottomless?!?! Unlimited pancakes for $7- yes please. I wasn't expecting much with these but was completely blown away. Pancakes were warm, thick and had a great buttermilk flavor. The syrup that came with it far surpassed the classic store bought corn syrup concoction. Powdered sugar was a little heavy on top but not anything noticeable as I was eating them. I was very surprised and left thinking I could make this a regular breakfast spot.

Every single course delivered…read more We started with honey butter and rolls (dangerous in the best way), then moved to the ricotta and focaccia; perfectly balanced and honestly could've stopped there and been happy. But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

It was first time trying Block and overall it was a neutral experience. I was with a bigger party…read moreand our table was well attended to. However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

We came because we wanted gourmet burgers. Turns out that their two burgers were bison burger. No thanks. No matter. My friend and I had the Traditional Navajo Taco(s) and his wife had the Sheep's Steak Salad. Everything was delicious. I put the "s" in parentheses because the menu is in plural but it really is just one taco. The Navajo Taco description from their website: Our Navajo tacos are a true taste of tradition--crispy, fluffy fry bread tacos topped with flavorful ingredients, served alongside cilantro-lime rice and pinto beans. Whether you're searching for Indian tacos near you, Navajo food, or the best tacos in Provo, this dish hits the spot. Find out why so many call this the top Navajo taco at one of the most authentic Navajo restaurants around. Also known as Navaho tacos, it's a must-try comfort food. It was excellent. The fry bread was nice and spongy and the toppings were flavorful. The refried beans and the rice were also excellent. Not just good, but excellent. She really enjoyed her steak salad as well. All in all a really good meal, didn't even miss the gourmet burgers. So yes, you better make a reservation. And this was a Thursday night. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

For delicious foods, you'd expect it to take more time; but, at this restaurant, the chefs were able to make delicious foods in, probably, 30-40% less time. Bravo! 3. Pricing is reasonable. Ambiance: it's a smaller place and seating was a little cramped but still comfortable. Noise level is a little high due to seating density. Conclusion: Will I return? Most certainly.

The jalapeño ranch brings just enough heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the brightness of the mango or the creaminess of the avocado. It's a well-composed dish, and easily the best thing I have eaten so far during an entire week in Utah. The sweet potato fries matched it: crispy outside, soft inside, the kind of side you keep reaching for without meaning to. Service was fast, atmosphere rustic and clean. No ceremony, no friction. I am already rearranging my remaining days in Provo to fit in one more visit before leaving the state.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was beyond disappointing…read more My husband picked up dinner for us tonight, and it was one of the biggest wastes of money I've ever spent on takeout. We ordered a large sweet potato fry to share, and the container was only filled about halfway. I also ordered the beet salad with extra red beets, extra gold beets, and extra goat cheese. We were charged an additional $1.50 for each add-on, yet my salad arrived with zero goat cheese, only four tiny slices of red beets, and five tiny slices of gold beets. Cubby's has always been notoriously stingy with the beets, which is exactly why I paid extra for additional toppings. Instead, I ended up with even less than the standard portion. In the end, I paid $18 for what was essentially a bowl of spring mix with two slices of avocado, three orange segments, no goat cheese, and nine paper-thin slices of beets. That's unacceptable. To make matters worse, we tried calling to speak with a manager, but the phones were turned off at 8:15 p.m., even though the restaurant advertises that it's open until 9:00 p.m. This was the last straw with Cubby's. The night shift clearly needs better training and quality control. Charging customers for extras and then not including them is not okay. If you want to waste your money on food that is carelessly prepared and doesn't match what you paid for, this is a great place to go.
