The Chemogirls extensions were the only answer to restore my hair. These extensions are non damaging to the fine brittle hair, as they are held with a tree sap bond. Its an amazing process. I was so relieved to find that I could once again have a beautiful head of thick long hair, that I would actually get compliments on. I finally felt like myself again after all of the cancer treatments. I have been doing these extensions with Cheryl at ESBI since 2018. I will need this service a lifetime. Her skills are amazing and am so grateful to have found her and her salon. The staff, salon and Cheryl are top notch. But feel it needs published…read more I have been getting my hair done by Bernetta for 4 years since she came out of the Career center and became a stylist. She was and is Truly talented and we also became friends. I felt such a bond. I also praised her every time someone complimented my hair. I have very thick, course, porous hair for being Caucasian, and have borderline Afro/American type hair so not everyone can work with my hair. Bernetta learned from the best (Taylor) whom was also amazing. So I followed Bernetta from one salon to B&B. She always tried to help make my hair the best it could be, with my hairs limitations. I decided to go back short, because wearing it longer just wasn't working, despite Bernetta's talent. When I decided to go back to my usual comfort style(Karen cut/Dorothy Hammel) inverted Bob style. It's basically the best cut for my hair as thick and unruly as it is. But Bernetta struggled. It wasn't blending the way it had in the past when Taylor cut it. ( only switched from Taylor when she went on leave and continued with her as we became friends) I always supported this girl. Always praised her. Always tipped well. But when I expressed to her that the cut just wasn't working well, she became frustrated. I let it grow out some. Then I thought we were back on track. Then I came in for a full hi-light and trim after 10 weeks. I had high expectations and spent over $300. She was pressed for time at the end and dry trimmed an area. She was in a bit of a hurry and when I returned home I noticed one side was longer than the other. I also had a very strange texture, or feel to my hair. It was as if my hair was either reacting to a product in a negative way, or I thought maybe the color wasn't rinsed out all the way. I immediately let Bernetta know these things and she seemed upset and said we will fix this at my in between visit(5 wks). So she also was supposed to text me my next appointments ( pressed for time) so I also reminded her to send me my appointment times. She texted saying " okay coming your way in a few minutes " well I patiently waited 6 days. 3 separate occasions she said she was texting me appointments and did not. I was a little frustrated. During the waiting, I was approached by 2 people at work. They were asking me what happened to my hair as it looked very damaged to them. I knew my hair felt odd and sticky, but now I began to wonder what was wrong. It just felt and looked different than it ever had in the past. The back would not stay down and I checked with Bernetta if i should try washing it. She said I could. I was still waiting for my follow- up to be texted to me. I ended up having to wash my hair twice on 2 separate occasions and whatever was holding it down and making it feel awful was finally gone and it felt and looked closer to normal. Then I finally received my text. Bernetta claimed that I am never happy, always complaining, and decided to tell me she will no longer do my hair. Dumped like a Hot potato! I was shocked because I AlWAYS loved how she did my hair! I always texted her when I received compliments which was DAILY!! I'm so very disheartened that she did that and after paying over $300 I felt I was not treated fairly at all. She did not even offer to fix the uneven cut that she mistakenly did as she was rushing at the end. Honestly, she has been in this business 4-5 years and the minute that someone is unsatisfied and calls her out on it, she tells them not to come back?? She is going to have a very long and unhappy career if she only takes clients with easy hair! Don't you need to be solid and admit to mistakes in this field? Don't you need to take on different hair types and textures? I am still flabbergasted that she " dismissed" me instead if offering to "make it right" not to mention I got "dumped" through a text message. This hurt my heart more than I can say. I had such Faith in this gal and adored her. I believe that this Salon needs to instill better values in their stylists, and possibly be slightly more creative when there is an issue. Stylists should not be allowed to discharge clients who are unhappy one time. It was great for years but as soon as we actually "Cut" a new style is when her talent started to dissipate in my eyes. She seemed burdened and stressed, rather than excited and engaged. The inverted Bob was too much for her. Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise but I lost a friend. In a very unprofessional way. Please be cautious as if you have thick or unruly hair, you should choose wisely.
