    The view!

An outstanding must visit in beautiful Natchez, Mississippi, right beside the Mighty Mississippi River. This restaurant had the ambiance, the delicious food and amazing, friendly service. Hubby and I shared a cup of gumbo and it was on point! He ordered the salad topped with fried crawfish and delicious creole mustard vinaigrette and I had the Catfish Briars. I was very impressed with all of the food and apparently the Catfish Briars dish is one of their most popular items. You cannot beat the historical significance of this lovely restaurant or the views of the red poppies, the river and the glorious bridge. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant and would definitely return.

When visiting Natchez Mississippi, you shouldn't miss this outstanding restaurant right on the river where the river boat stop we ate on the upper level where there are glass windows to see the river and and the river boat was in. I had a delicious salad with shrimp, goat cheese, and pecans. We also had a catfish a salad with catfish and fried green tomatoes so southern free parking lot waiter was pleasant and helpful.

What can I say? This place was phenomenal. I got the fried grouper with lemon butter, a stuffed potato and loaded potatoes. Got an old fashioned too. I walked out of there looking like a stuffed potato. Bartender / server was very friendly as well. All of them were. I will be back.

Service was great and food was delicious. The ribeye was seasoned well and cooked to perfection.

The reviews were amazing, so off we went for lunch. Now let's me say, we didn't have a bad experience but not near as exciting as the reviews. You're thinking, Tammie, you gave it 4 stars. Only because there isn't a 3.5 and 3 was too low. Service: I don't recall her name but she had cranberry colored hair and several tats. She's good. Really good. App: fried green tomatoes. Delicious. It wasn't a party in my mouth but a good batter on a bit of a thicker slice than I'm accustomed to. A tangy hollindaise with shrimp and crawfish topped it. Mike and I shared a burger. Really good char grilled flavor. Mike ordered medium to medium well. It wasn't cooked evenly. One side was more like medium to medium rare and the other was medium. The buns were soft and pillowy. The toppings were top notch. Red onion that wasn't too strong, a juicy slice of tomatoes. The fries were a let down. Scant amount and some cheap frozen fries. Our aunt and uncle shared the bacon Swiss chicken sandwich. They pretty said what we did about our entire food experience. Good but not I can't wait to go back delicious. Their sweet potato fries were so much better than ours and they got twice the amount. I was so excited to see a coconut buttermilk pie on the menu. I was disappointed to find that it was a bit dry. We got two slices and we both agreed that the flavor was great, but the pie was dry. Is it possible it was baked earlier in the week? I don't know. But if it's that dry fresh, I can't imagine what it's like a couple of days later. All that to say. It's a good place for a decent burger, but I'm not sure we will return. Too many other places to try before going back somewhere that didn't wow us. Forgot to take pics of the entrees

Extremely friendly, very helpful with menu recommendations. Our server was Lisa and she was phenomenal. Hats off to the chef, this was the best meal of my entire 9 day vacation. We ate all over New Orleans, Florida, & Alabama. This topped everything. I had the bbq shrimp, which was cooked PERFECTLY. Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner

Stopped in for an early dinner. The ambiance was old - quaint. Our server was really good - no nonsense, friendly enough, and professional. My food was OK - not sure I ordered the right thing - it was as described, but I was hoping for a thicker, less buttery sauce. Would I order it again, yes.

Redfish with lump crabmeat, grilled asparagus and grilled zucchini.

Had the redfish with crabmeat, fried green tomatoes both were on point. Service was attentive and not pushy, just right. Great ambiance, on the river.

My husband and I had the BEST dinner here during a Christmas trip to Natchez. The shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had. I make them a few times a year and would humbly rate mine an eight. These go to 11. The grits look dense, but they were fluffy and peppery. There was a generous amount of shrimp which were cooked perfectly. My husband had the pan fried red fish that was sensational. I don't know how they keep the coating crunchy while drizzled with brown creole gravy, but they do! The stuffed potato that came with the meal was huge and delicious! It was such a fantastic dinner, I asked that the chef come over to thank him. It was a father and son team in the kitchen, Ken and KJ. Each man made one of our dinners, so they both came over to the table. I hugged them both because the meals were so yummy. On top of the excellent food, the service was perfect. I give this place five hugs.

Pan Fried Redfish with stuff potatoe. Wife gave it 3 thumbs up.

As soon as we walked in the service was really good! It was really nice inside! They were super friendly and fast! I got the grilled shrimp and they were seasoned very well! My boyfriend go the butterfly fried shrimp and he said it was really good as well! I tried and shrimp an it was seasoned well! Not too salty or anything just right! Raw next time. Had the catfish LeBeaux and it was ok - a large portion. I'm not a fan of etoufee on top of fried food as the fried batter quickly becomes soggy. I should have ordered blackened as it might have been better. The etoufee was thick and bland. Luckily they had hot sauce on the table which made it better. Not sure why they don't have any cayenne in the etoufee recipe. Accompanying bread stick was stale. Tried the famous Alligator and Shrimp cheesecake. It was ok. Very rich and interesting flavor. The Yelp highly recommended plantation cake is no longer on the menu.

First, the location is perfect - central to shopping and several tour homes. The interior is creative and beautiful with vibrant colors and interesting art throughout. We were there for lunch, but the bar area looked like a great place for a drink. The food was amazing - quality food with some unique selections - definitely chef worthy. The portions were also substantial. I highly recommend giving Frankie's a try. So why the two stars? I rarely take the time to give an eatery a less than 4-star review, but the service experience should be honestly noted. We were one of the first to arrive well before the lunch crowd, and slightly earlier than our reservation. They seated us right away. There was only one or two other tables seated before us. We received our appetizers promptly and then waited ONE HOUR AND 20 MINUTES for the main course to arrive. We went quite some time without explanation. When the delay reached an absurd amount of time, the waitress eventually ask okwedged the situation and apologized. She explained that the kitchen had 2 other "events" to manage and were overwhelmed. They must have been offsite events since there were not any large groups in the dining area and the vault dining room was empty. The main dining room filled up while we were waiting, but food was not coming out of the kitchen. Our waitress seemed to go to the kitchen several times to check on our food. We completely missed the 1:00 tour and was worried we were going to miss the 2:00 tour. We finally had to ask if we needed to wrap up without eating so we wouldn't miss a second tour. A waitress cannot help what the kitchen is doing or not doing. She seemed genuinely distressed. Now here's the kicker... the owner Frankie himself passed by our table no less than 20 times. Each time he looked at our table without food and made zero eye contact. It was obvious that he knew we had been sitting for an extraordinary amount of time and that the waitress was trying to get some help, but his emotions appeared completely indifferent. If our business as tourists were important to him, it sure didn't feel like it. This was shocking to us, so we had to look up his photo to make sure this was indeed Frankie. Did he need to talk to us? No, but it sure would have been nice. What was shocking was his willingness to lay the burden of this service debacle on the shoulders of the wait staff. Rather than help her manage customer expectations and help the kitchen or tables, he just watched. We did notice numerous "to-go" orders going out the door sporadically while we waited. When our plates finally arrived, we slammed them quickly. It would have been nice to savor the meals after all of that wait, but we simply did not have the time. Our wait person apologized to us again on our way out. We are gracious and patient and know that things can happen that are beyond control. We did not ask for anything to be comped or discounted, but it would have been reasonable to make such an adjustment or maybe offer a free dessert or cocktail at a future visit. We tipped well. And honestly, we felt bad for her and all the others. On our way out, we noticed Frankie behind the bar talking to a couple. He did not acknowledge us as we walked by.

Reservations are needed but a kind, personable maitre de found a way to seat and serve us. Even sharing red hots with our crowd.
