The location is great, it is a walking distance from the harbour and surroundings. The diner is too small, we have to wait for a table for our breakfast. Customer Service is fine. The reason I gave them a 2 star is we upgrade to the side of the harbour to have that view, hold and behold it is all trees to view . They should not call it harbour view!!! We had a very pleasant stay with Best Western. The beds were comfy, there was a small kitchen with a small Mid size refrigerator/freezer, stove, pots, utensils. Only 2 items were bothersome which were the chairs were terribly worn in dining area and the carpet has a huge bulge in the middle of the room and need to be stretched flat. On vacations I tend to pack like a queen, such as Beyonce and JLo...I just like having options! This hotel is a very short walk from the FRS Clipper ferry terminal, PROS: -Very close to the Seattle-Victoria FRS Clipper terminal, walk it! -Nice large rooms with balcony, kitchenette, fridge. -Comfy Beds -A very nice indoor hot tub / jacuzzi. -Friendly staff all around. -Breakfast included, with eggs and meats. -Quiet since its not directly in downtown Victoria -Walkable to downtown Victoria and Fisherman's Wharf. CONS: -$685 CAD for two nights seemed rather expensive, but I think June is prime tourist season. -Wish it was a bit closer to downtown Victoria. I might take a peek at other options next time, but highly likely I would stay here again and definitely recommend! read more

The hotel is located at the heart of Victoria. It is easy to locate and the staff is very helpful and cordial. I would give you a heads up though- if you are taking your car, you will be charged an additional fee to park it in their garage. Additionally, the garage has the same entry and exit so be cautious when driving in or out. The room was clean and spacious. The kitchen was equipped with a coffee maker, cups and utensils. The balcony had a nice view of the outside. They had put fans in the room to provide additional circulation during hot and humid months which was very thoughtful. They were running a little low on body lotion which is why there was none in the bathroom. My colleague tried to iron her dress before the meeting and an orange liquid came out of it and ruined the dress. The breakfast starts at 6:45. A.m. and provides multiple options to choose from including cereal, eggs, sausage, juice, muffins, bagels, and pancakes. Despite a lot of amenities, I still have mixed feelings about the place, which is why I am giving it three stars. read more

We were disappointed to find no body wash, shampoo and a tiny amount of conditioner in the bathroom. Like enough for 1 person. Stayed for 2 nights for an anniversary trip to Victoria. Loved the location, staff & amenities the hotel offered. We arrived from the Clipper quite early. Checkin time is 4pm. Left our suitcase at bell stand and hit the town for lunch while we waited. Came back from lunch a few hours later (1p) and room still wasn't ready so we went out to the pool area. Noticed there was a liquor store next door at the Days Inn so picked up a 6pk of beer to drink out by the pool while we waited. Room finally ready about 3:45 so got to room to settle in. Very happy with the room. (508). We had the back view but it was just fine. Quiet back street with lovely trees & peakaboo views of mountains out in the distance. The room itself was very good size. Got 2 queen beds. (Hubby snores & tosses and turns) We had a kitchenette. Stove, microwave small fridge, sink, kettle, one cup coffee maker (coffee, tea & sugar & creamer packets) toaster, plates, cups, glasses and flatware. Small table & chairs for dining in kitchen and a table & chairs out on the balcony. Beds & linens quite comfortable. Ample amount of towels provided in bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner & shower gel provided in a wall dispenser. (environmentally friendly) We used the hot tub, dry sauna, wet sauna & pool everyday. The sun hits the pool deck area later in the day. Did not visit the gym. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast both days. First morning was cheese omelets with potatoes & sausage patties. Second day was scrambled eggs, potato patties & sausage links. Also available waffles, pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, breakfast breads, yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee & tea. You will not be hungry after breakfast. The breakfast room is good sized. Temperature in the room a little warm for my liking. Checked out at 11am and again used bellstand to store our bags while we went to the Royal BC Museum. Back to hotel approximately 5p to pickup bag and go to Clipper Ferry Dock for our 7p departure. Would stay here again and recommend to family & friends. Only negative I can think of is late checkin time. 3p would be much better. read more

Stayed with my wife for her birthday in-town get away while our eight-year-old was having a sleepover with family. The hotel was great. Pandemic protocols straight forward and not intrusive . Front desk staff courteous and efficient. Well kept room, well maintained facility. And the location is perfect close to the Inner Harbour and downtown. A 3-night stay at the Best Western Plus Inner Harbour was an integral and enjoyable part of a recent pleasure trip to Victoria. Our room (we lodged as a threesome - senior couple and daughter) was on the 6'th floor, harbour side of the hotel, and offered a rather nice, partial view of what was happening in and about Victoria's inner harbour. The room was very clean, tidy, and well-appointed - features included double queen beds (which were so comfortable!!), two easy chairs, three-drawer bureau, small executive desk, kitchenette (with microwave, stovetop, small table and chairs (handy, and much-enjoyed and appreciated during our stay), tv, dvd player, and wi-fi (good connection too!!). We found our room both comfortable and very quiet. Along with little noise from the hall, or nearby elevator, we were "happy campers" for our entire stay. Our stay at the hotel included breakfast daily, in a small dining room just off the lobby, on the main floor of the hotel. Breakfast was great, and included a fine selection of hot and cold items - juices, fresh fruits, sweet buns, biscuits, bread, cereals, eggs (prepared differently each morning - and always so good!), pan-fried potatoes, sausages (different kind each morning - another nice touch!), pancakes (via a make-your-own machine), coffees, teas, hot chocolate, and etc. We found everything fresh and tasty, the premises kept spotlessly clean and tidy - their breakfast was a fun and great start to each day. Recreation amenities included a fitness centre (which we did not use), a whirlpool jacuzzi (which we used daily, and enjoyed), small wet sauna (steam room) and dry sauna (we did not use the saunas during our stay). Towels were provided at the facilities, and everything kept nice and clean. Overall - The hotel: clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location: pretty area, and handy to downtown and neighbourhoods of the city (on foot, or by vehicle), and some lovely, neighbourhood areas (local to the hotel) facilitating some great morning and/or evening walkabouts. This was our first trip to Victoria in a very good many years, and the Best Western Plus Inner Harbour Hotel sure added greatly to the pleasure and enjoyment of our stay. This hotel far exceeded my expectation!!! We booked a suite with a King Bed for 1 night and boy were we pleasantly surprised at how clean and modern it was for a BW. They provided us with a baby roll away crib at our door, a super cute kitchenette complete with a stove top, sink, microwave and mini fridge. The room also had a sofa bed that seemed to be queen size alongside our superges comfy pillowtop mattress. Safe to say we were not short on sleep! The room also had a nice balcony with a 2 seater patio set and lots of lamps to keep you happily lit at night. TV was also great and modern finishes throughout. The customer service of this hotel is exceptional!!! We completely forgot to bring 2%milk for our daughter and asked of they had an in house store or know of a close by one - without hesitation I was provided with 2 full medium sized coffee cups of milk which was more than enough for her evening and overnight drinking sesh! Wow! If you are a mother of a constantly milk hungry toddler and ran out - you would completely appreciate the gesture for sure!!! On the morning of our check out we still wanted to tour the area and walk around and was able to leave our car parked at the hotel so that we didnt have to pay for parking again. Parking btw is $20.00/night but its expected for the location. The hotel is just off the hustle and bustle of downtown Victoria but less than 10min walk to everything you need!!! The only thing this hotel was short of was the lack of freshness of the breakfast (hence the 4/5) - but for 1 morning of complimentary breakfast it was not a deal breaker for me. Breakfast was eggs, sausage, potaoes (all cold and pretty stale) alongside waffles, pancakes, pastries and cereals... it was OK. Filled us w/the fuel we needed to start our day and before consuming some yummy outside foodies. Overall, really great hotel!!! We would 200% stay here again since the price is fair, compared to others in the area, and for the quality that you get. read more

So, a number of years ago I took a girl I was seeing to Victoria for a long weekend. I happened to have some passes to the Best Western, so we chose to stay here. It was pleasant. It is very conveniently located; however, on our third day in town the girl I was with wanted to buy something at a local shop. She realized she had left all her cash in her pants from the day before at the hotel. We had come home late after going out and she'd forgot she'd put her money in those pants. No big deal. We strolled back to the hotel - the room had been cleaned, but her pants were in her bag so no big deal. Unfortunately, it was a big deal. It turned out she had just under $300 in cash in two one hundred dollar bills and some twenties, and now, none of it was there. We ransacked her bag, the room, her bag again, the room, etc. While we were doing this, we began to notice strange things - for instance, her bag had been face down on a chair and now it was under the chair face up, some items I had placed in a small pocket in my bag were now in a different pocket, my keys were outside my coat pocket where I left them, our tickets on the Clipper were no longer holding my place in a magazine but were outside, underneath magazines and books, etc. After we'd tossed the entire room, our bags, every pocket, every possible spot, we went down to the front desk and reported her money missing. The woman at the front desk listened and suggested perhaps it had just been misplaced. We assured her that we'd went over every possible place and it was gone. She suggested we may have spent it without realizing it. We replied we were pretty sure we'd know if we spent $300. After about 15 minutes, she suggested the head of the maid service go with us to our room and search. We found this highly odd, but agreed. The head maid searched our room and said she could not find any cash. She departed and we were told once we went back down to reception that she had questioned the maid who had served our room and she did not see any money. We asked why so many things were moved. The woman at the front desk suggested we probably didn't remember where they had been and then, that maids move things to clean. I asked why she had needed to move my keys from my coat pocket, and she reiterated that I probably didn't realize where I had put them. Now, I would have simply called the police, but at the time, I honestly didn't think of it. I thought if we explained, they would do all they could to help us - instead, the best we got was that someone from the corporate office would call and discuss the incidence with us in a 'few weeks'. We were very annoyed. My girlfriend was very upset. Luckily, we only had one more night. Within a few weeks, someone from Best Western did call me - not her. He called me at work, and when I told him I needed to do this at another time, he pushed on with his questioning. He repeatedly ignored my explanation that I was at work and could more easily talk with him at another time, and played dummy detective. His questions were all about where we had been, when we had been in the hotel, etc. At no time did he seem to accept our side of the story, so it was not shocking when I received a letter less then a week later that said Best Western had resolved my issue - it found that the money was probably lost and that they were not at fault. So, just a head's up. Everyone knows not to keep money in their room at a hotel, but if you do something foolish, forget, mess up, what have you, this place will not help you - in fact, they're more likely to treat you like you did something wrong. read more

We spent four nights here starting July 3. I would recommend this to anyone looking for great, reasonable accommodations very close to the Inner Harbour. We took the Victoria Clipper from Seattle, got our bags, cleared customs, and walked the block and a half to the BW. We had been traveling all day and were tired. Check in was very quick and efficient and friendly. All the staff we dealt with here were super. Wifi in the room was free and reasonably fast. We had a rental car for the four days, and parking was free as well. The complimentary continental breakfast was what you would expect, limited but enough to get you started for the day. The room quality was good. Both rooms had a small stove, a microwave, and a fridge. The only thing we used was the fridge. The rooms were also very clean. If you are looking for luxury go two blocks to the Fairmont Empress. If you want a clean, solid hotel with recent rates, pick this one. read more

Fantastic opportunity to stay in a warm, welcoming place with a great view and within walking distance to downtown! The staff are extremely helpful and make customer service a priority, and you can tell. The rooms are comfy and clean. They are very affordable as well, whether you want to pay a little more for for the upper floors and harbor (which is definitely worth it) or stay a bit cheaper in one of the other rooms. The breakfast has a good variety of foods and beverages. We have stayed here several times, and have liked it so much we have now made it an annual tradition to bring our our whole family here over the holidays. read more

Like most retired seniors my wife & I are always looking for good value while traveling. We probably spend more time in the rooms than the younger generation. We carry tablets for reading & keeping in touch so WiFi is a must. Our check list of amenities include, hot breakfast, refrigerator, microwave, & of course a coffee maker. We do a lot of research, reading reviews from several different resources, & normally our picks are pretty darn spot on. Best Western Inner Harbor is in easy walking distance of the ferry & attractions. We brought our car this trip, but left it mostly in the secured underground parking, which was clean & lots of space. I might add the 2 elevators go from the parking straight to the floor your room is on, which was nice. The hotel itself in on a tree lined street which is curb appeal superb. Our check in was fast, friendly, & very welcoming. From first appearance you could just tell this was a well maintained property. Our room (a queen suite) was clean, very quiet, & comfortable. We had an outside deck, that you could step out on, & windows that opened enough to let fresh air in at night. There was no AC, but with the tree lined street, I don't think that would ever be a problem. The TV had plenty of channels to watch & I might add, I've never stayed at a hotel that had that many stations to choose from plus there was internal guides right on the TV. (Bonus Points) The WiFi was lighting fast, so be sure to fasten your seat belt. The room key was the ones with a chip inside that I really like. The breakfast was fast, with plenty of choices, but the dining area was smaller & difficult at rush hour. We tried early & later to miss the rush, but it was busy either side of rush. You won't leave hungry for sure. Management should be proud of how well the staff are doing, & I would highly recommend this as your home away from home. Thanks for a wonderful stay. read more

This hotel is well located in the Victoria sightseeing area. Our room was nice, clean and had plenty of amenities. Coffee and hot water were always available near the lobby. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We were particularly thankful to Kirsten, who provided us with tourism guidance with a smile. Complimentary breakfasts are nice and this hotel provided a reasonable selection of food choices to start the day. We chose this hotel because of it's location to activities and it's reputation as a clean and well maintained business model. We were not disappointed. We arrived via airport YYJ shuttle and returned to the airport 5 days later by the same means. Two blocks from the hotel is the pickup point for the Butchart Gardens tour. Other tour bus offerings are equally close. It's easy walking distance to the downtown, Chinatown, the harbor, boat tours, airplane tours, or just a nice walk near the water's edge. Even in rainy weather it's a wonderful place to be. Beacon Hill Park is also an easy walk and we found that enjoyable as well. I recommend it and we would return to this hotel again. read more

NO AC! Almost $300 a night and no AC, the front desk clerk told me "it's not a thing here". Well it's a "thing" to me when it's hot and humid and all they have is a small, oscillating Home Depot fan in the room. It should be very prominently displayed on the website. I stay in Victoria quite often and all the other hotels I've stayed at have AC, I understand it's not good for the environment but at $300 per night I want cool and comfortable. Also, if you're going to try and shame me into using my towel more than once, for the environment of course, not for the hotels bottom line, then change your toilets to low flush models. read more

I did not stay at this hotel. The hotel is doing false advertising with a coupon they distributed. The coupon reads: "Receive one night's accommodation FREE, with purchase of an accompanying night's accommodations (two consecutive nights).* Valid Sunday-Thursday only. Not available on holidays or during special events. Coupon rate is offered: January 1 - April 30, 2009, value up to $199 CAD; May 1 - September 30, 2009, value up to $299 CAD; October 1 - December 31, 2009, value up to $199 CAD. Advance reservation required. Space is limited. Subject to availability. Must mention coupon when making reservations. Must present coupon at check-in. Not valid with any other offer, discount, or promotion (including internet specials)." I called and asked for a king bed unit and was quoted $182 per night. I stated that I had the coupon and was told the rate was $299 for the two night stay. I am sorry, but that is not "FREE". I asked to speak with the manager and was told I was talking with the reservation manager and that the $299 rate was their price with the coupon. I called later and asked for the "Manager". I was told she had just taken a conference call. She has not returned my phone call. This is not the actions of a reputable place of business. 05/27/2009 - The next day: The manager called me back this morning. She kept changing the amount of the "standard" room rate. One time she said the $299 rate is what they use for the coupon. Later she said the standard rate was $269. A sentence later she said the standard rate was $249. I do not know where she was pulling the rate from. It does not appear to be published anywhere. I will not visit this hotel or any other hotel that plays this game. read more

Exceeded Expectations I like the welcoming feel of the lobby when we first arrived....very friendly staff. Really enjoyed this hotel ....it was situated in a nice spot, and depending on which side of the hotel your room was on , you will get a great view of Victoria Habour. Visited Victoria and stayed in the penthouse. Usually don't stay in the penthouse, but since we were tired and it was the last room, we decided to pay the high price and stay. The room was very nice, wrapped around a full corner of the hotel with amazing views. Bed was very comfortable, shower was great and the included breakfast was good. I cannot compare to other penthouse suites, but now the reason for the 3 stars, maybe should be 2. We used the jacuzzi tub and were called by the front desk in a panic....they were sure that we left the water flowing in the tub and we were overflowing onto the floor. The room below us was taking on water thru the ceiling. We were very careful and didn't even come close to over filling the tub or getting any water on the floor. The front desk clerk kept insisting that maint wanted to enter our room and I refused his request. I verified that there was no water on the floor, that the tub probably was leaking thru the jets or piping, but he kept insisting. I complained when I checked out and asked to speak to the manager, she was not available. They gave me a 10% discount when I checked out. The manager called me later that day and left an apology on my cell phone voice mail. I would recommend staying at this hotel, just don't stay in the penthouse and use the tub! read more

After few years we revisited beautiful Victoria and stayed at Inner Harbour Best Western again - this time for 3 nights.The hotel is excellently located, close to everything, even grocery shopping.Thrifty Foods is just 4 blocks away. We love Victoria's restaurants but sometimes prefer to make our own dinners since we enjoy eating on the balcony with such a lovely view over the Victoria's harbour. Entering the lobby we've noticed that the hotel has been renovated and upgraded. The entire lobby was rebuilt and the back wall changed into an elegant blue glass art piece.Awesome! The spacious and very clean room furnished with comfortable bed provided a great night rest. Renovated bathroom and kitchenette are now very contemporary and elegant with granite counter-tops and new cabinetry. The big plus was the breakfast buffet with the most choice of food we've ever seen in Best Westerns. Even though the hotel was full due to a car show that was taking place in Victoria that weekend, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the Inner Harbour Best Western was again an excellent choice and we will definitely stay there next time we visit Victoria. read more

Often I visit Victoria & I stay in this hotel. The location is too good to be true. The rooms are clean, comfy & huge with a kitchenette with stovetop & utensils. The staff are friendly, helpful & professional. Has an amazingly beautiful view overlooking the inner harbour & Victoria Central. The rooms have balcony where you can sit & eat & enjoy the view. Very nice lil' kitchen where you can cook. The pool, jacuzzi & the gym are nice too. We took a bus which dropped us in front of Parliament House & it took us 10 min to arrive the hotel enjoying the beautiful view on our way. They have walking paths across the street that goes around the harbour & we really enjoyed our daily walks while watching the ducks with lil' duckling, seagulls & many more. On Fridays & weekends there is lots of open air excitements going on in the down town which we love. Everything is walking distance which means we don't have to drive. The breakfast is always very good, healthy & health conscious & to my surprise they even had gluten free breakfast. Overall , yes, I will stay here again. read more
