Was invited to a rooftop yoga event by lululemon. Being a Sunday morning, you'd think they would clean the rooftop from the bar patrons the night before. But oh no, we were doing yoga next to glass shards on the ground. When we arrived there was some girl walking around attempting to pick them up and said to us be careful where you put your mat there's glass everywhere. Unacceptable and dangerous. read more

Taylor Swift was staying here at the same time which was super cool. We didn't run into her but were still treated with white gloves and smiles. There is a cafe and restaurant downstairs. This Thompson property is in a great neighborhood in the Gulch, walkable to a few spots and also not a far drive from anything you may need to do In town. My room was beautiful and stylish. The rooftop bar is very vibe-y and was the right level of busy for afterwork drinks. read more

I really enjoyed staying at the Thompson. The location in the Gultch is great. It has access to some nearby restaurants and activities that you probably wouldn't otherwise go out of your way for. The rooms feel new, or like they have been recently renovated. Service was great as well. Room service was very responsive and housekeeping was great. My one complaint, as it seems to be with most hotels, is that there is not enough surface space for your stuff. They do have outlets in the night stands which seems to be great, however, they are literally right up against the bed which is really weird and charging bricks tend to fall out of them. The "rooftop" bar is nice, and the online check-out actually worked, which seems to be another simple thing that is commonly broken in other places. Broadway is walkable. You just need to follow the walking directions on an online map to find the shortest path. HINT: The stairs at Milk & Honey Gulch are key to the shortest path! read more

Very disappointing experience. Booked it through Amex FH&R. It's a fine hotel; it's just a FH&R. No outreach before I arrived to arrange airport transfer or assist with restaurants recs and reservations. The hotel is show it's age with chipped veneer on the furniture, peeling paint around the windows and shampoo/soap bottles with the labels most worn off. Where it really fails is with housekeeping. No evening service, which is shocking for a FH&R, and day service basically just pulled up the cover on the bed and threw the pillows back on it. Nothing was tucked in or smoothed out. Iron and ironing board left out, along with hairdryer, etc. All of this is fine for a standard hotel but at $400+ night and in the FH&R program, there is nothing fine about the Thompson. Other than the people! Everyone with whom I've spoken here has been super nice and the front desk was very welcoming on my arrival. They also helped solve an issue with my breakfast benefit. But will I come back? No. There were other FH&R options in the city that'd I try first. read more

This was our first time here but I'm not sure we will be back honestly. More times than not, Amex FHR hotels will offer complimentary upgrades to rooms upon check-in; Thompson did not but rather stated we could pay for an upgrade if we wished meaning they had upgrades available but chose not to accommodate. My wife and I attempted to go to the rooftop "restaurant and bar" to find it to be a bar only that serves some food that was so incredibly over crowded that we could barely walk around so we just left back to our room. On our second to last day, our entire hallway, including our room smelled like weed which was incredibly bothersome considering it's a smoke free hotel. Im not sure if it was the room service that was at our door when I came back or something else but honestly there was no point in calling about because I know nothing would come of it. Beds were ok, valet parking is like $54. To be honest, I think the only "luxury" thing was having to scan your room key in the elevator and I've dealt with friendlier staff in France even though the French "are rude". Not the cleanest hotel, never once saw cleaning service at all. The television worked but very inconsistent. Small rooms, but not clean at all. It's In a good location surrounded by good shops and restaurants, but they fall short in cleanliness and room service. Don't think I would return to this establishment, being from New York and their being another establishment in NY we felt that service would be up to par. But they fell short. Also the destination fee be aware of, you get one glass of champagne and that's it, they say you have sparkling water on your floor in tap. But who drinks $25 of sparkling water feom a tap outside your door. Total crap. read more

I am staying here right now. This is definitely not a five star hotel. The service is seriously lacking. We have been staying here for three days and there are too many other hotels in Nashville that the service is just way better at. You can do the 1 hotel, The Joseph, the Conrad, JW Marriott, any of those. I am waiting on my car to arrive to check out. They have my luggage and I asked for a bottle of water and they won't even give me that, but I did see them just give somebody else a bottle of water with their logo on it so I know they have water. They said they don't have any down here, but I literally just watched them bring a (white) man a water. Their front staff is just not very friendly. The restaurant staff was friendly. They do have a rooftop, but it is a very young crowd, just FYI. There is no pool or a spa here. read more

Absolutely loved this hotel - it may be my best hotel stay ever. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel is beautiful. I loved the modern masculine decor with touches of feminine patterns and gold. The location is great. There are a lot of local shops and restaurants to go to. I visited Biscuit Love and Emmy Squared like a tourist and loved it. The hotel is also about 15 minutes from the airport which is also great. I was here for five nights for a business trip and the level of detail and care was amazing. The food was good and I did not receive a single complaint from our team AND senior leadership loved it as well. There are a few imperfections which is why I took off one star. The plumbing in the bathroom is very loud, or at least it was in my room. I would not want to room with someone who gets up in the middle of the night to visit the bathroom. Another thing that I didn't like was the the fabric on the ironing board needed to be replaced. The white metal underneath comes through the fabric and leaves a white imprint from the metal frame on my clothes. It washed off after I put them in the washer, but it's something to look out for. Lastly, room service threw away my leftover food before I had a chance to finish it. It was only one container, but it was one of the best meals I've ever had. It was nowhere near the trash and wasn't marked as disposable. All of the other cons could simply be overlooked, but I was annoyed and somewhat offended that my food was wasted and thrown away without good reason. Overall I loved my experience here and it was definitely the top tier service and customer experience and beyond that I expect from any upscale hotel. I'd love to stay here again! read more

So I booked thru my Amex platinum card. They recommended as one of their fine hotels. We'll check in was great they were awesome. The rooms were small and very little amenities. The housekeeping sucked. We came for my nieces 21st. We arrived on a Friday came back late with our cocktails from bar we left Monday glasses were still there. Coffee cups from downstairs killibrew were still there also. I used the vanity items there as I forgot my own my bad. They never replenished. We went to dinner there the last night. They cut my 21 yr old niece off. She went to the bathroom twice in 30 minutes supposedly they said to throw up not the case. They asked them to leave. Had read about the Thompson Hotel a while back in WSJ so we had it on our list and we were not disappointed. The hotel is attractive, clean and we had no issues. Room temperature was comfortable and the rooms are clean with great water pressure in the shower. I had the pleasure of staying at the Thompson Nashville for a few days and enjoyed every moment of it. The location is EVERYTHING!!!. The hotel is extremely walkable. You can walk to breakfast lunch or dinner and there is some shopping you can do as well in the area - all walkable. But before you venture on your quick walk, the restaurant in the hotel, Marsh House has some of the best food I've ever eaten. I had both lunch and breakfast onsite and ate everything on my plate. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Now lets get down to business with the sleeping room. 15/10. Yes 15 out of 10. The room was nice and had everything you want in a sleeping room. Nice bright light, a really comfortable bed, a desk and table you can work from with even better lighting. The shower has full size product so you can freely shower and lather up with the full size products in the bathroom. The shower pressure was everything - talk about getting a mini massage from the water. Love they give you rugs for the bathroom floor without having to ask. I loved every minute of my stay there. Nestled in the heart of The Gulch, Thompson Nashville is the perfect place to stay for your visit. It's walking distance to famous eateries such as Biscuit Love, Milk & Honey, Peg Leg Porker, 404 Kitchen, and Finn & Pearl. The famous wall art with the wings, the colorful art wall, and a few famous celebrity shops like Kittenish and Uncommon James are also walking distance. You're about a short Uber Drive from Broadway, 12 South boutiques/ coffee shops, and The Parthenon/Vanderbilt University. The hotel contacted me a few days prior to our stay. They were kind enough to text and email me recommendations. They communicated with me throughout our stay when they needed to reach us about our preference with the turn down service. I really like this place. The only other hotel that has done that is The Vendue in Charleston, SC. When we checked in, we planned on leaving our luggage with concierge since check in wasn't until 4 pm, and it was only 1-130 pm. They already had a clean room with double beds available, so they went ahead and got us situated. The incidental free is $450, but it gets returned after your trip (assuming you don't break anything). Customer service was excellent throughout our stay. My friend and I were on the 7th floor overlooking the front of the hotel with shops and restaurants. The room feels homey with the wooden floors. There are seersucker bath robes, slippers, and ear plugs for your convenience. The beds are comfortable, but the feather pillows tend to get flat. The walls are a little thin. I could hear the group of guys next door at times. The rain shower head and walk-in shower was so relaxing, but I think they had hard water cause my hands turned to raisins after a few minutes. No amount of lotion helped. There wasn't enough lighting in the rooms. They also needed more mirrors. The one floor length mirror had dim lighting. I did like the mini night light that you can pull out from the head board and hide during the day. Each night for turn down service, you get a small bottle of water and the forecast for the next day. Like all of the honky tonks off Broadway, Thompson Nashville also has a rooftop bar. We didn't get to enjoy the L.A. Jackson as much as we'd hoped due to the weather, but we did enjoy the views. The crowd is a bit older earlier in the evening, but after 2 am, the younger crowd of 20-30s come. My friend used the gym on the 2nd floor. It has great equipment and cucumber water. The Marsh House restaurant on the first floor was closed for renovations, but you could order room service. Killebrew is the coffee shop connected to the hotel. It's small but popular. It's a great work space. The lattes are good. Even though it rained, sleet, and snowed while we were there, we enjoyed our first time in Nashville. Front desk was fine. We ate at the restaurant but the server was really rude and short and not fun at all. After ordering one round of drinks, we were all cut off. Super bizarre and no reason. The manager on duty was not cool and felt like she was on her high horse by "kicking us out". They also accused us of throwing up and stumbling ... lol. Food was good. Service and service NO. The hallways offer water filling stations with nice cold water both still and sparkling which we thought was a unique feature. Traffic on weekend evening increases with people from the public going to the rooftop bar, but card access to hotel room floors means this is not intrusive. read more

What a great stay!! It's great to be married to a globalist... Hyatt is one of the only hotels that will let you share your status with a loved one. From the moment we checked in until we checked out it was an amazing experience. The breakfasts were great and the scones were amazing. We were upgraded to a suite which was such a great surprise and truly appreciated. The rooftop bar was so great but there was no inside space since there were reserved areas for private party's when we went there. The early and late check out were great - globalist has its true advantages. Can't wait to come back to Nashville and stay here again. It's a great location for everything!!! read more

Such a cute boutique hotel, I'd be interested to see the other Thompson locations. This particular Nashville spot was a mix of mid-century modern with a shot old country western and a sprig of fresh colorful, chunky textiles. Our room was clean, there's nightly turn down service. There's a mini bar stowed in an cabinet with a record player and vinyls to sample. The bathroom has a barn door that slides to allow privacy, and the bathroom is dreamy. The upstairs bar offers fantastic city views and the southern seafood restaurant located on the main floor was delicious. Valet and front desk service was perfect. Such nice, helpful staff, the management should be proud. (Valet is $40/day) Would definitely return and would be up for seeing the other locations, as well. read more

Ate at Marsh House and left a couple cards there. I work all the time so I sent my boyfriend over to grab them and the security guy, Stanton, was so rude not only to my boyfriend but also to myself and refused to give my boyfriend my stuff even though I sent him and authorized him to do so. I mean how else would he know the name on the card and description. So they wanted me go in myself to pick them up which was such a inconvenience after working a 12 hour shift to head over there after work when all I wanted to do was go home. So it was easier just to order a new card. The atmosphere is really nice and so is a lot of the staff but this was just so inconvenient and put a bad taste in my mouth. I get it's for security reasons but it might have been easier just to go to the bank to get a new card because this was such a frustrating situation/interaction and that's why I'm giving it such a low review. read more

I was in the area looking for breakfast but with Covid it was a challenge and not to mention everything was either closed or jam-packed with lines out the door. Went to the hotel lobby's restaurant for a mid morning breakfast/snack. The location is beautifully decorated. Sat at a lounge chair with a small table in front as it was only me and the tables were for larger parties. Ordered the Salmon Tartare, reasonable size, a bit difficult to eat because of where I was sitting, but it was tasty. DO NOT STAY HERE. The Gulch is awesome, as are all of the local restaurants, bars, shops. The Thompson Hotel gave my rental car to another guest. After more than an hour the hotel tracked down the other guest who was on their way to the airport. Wow, I am beyond floored at what an awful travel experience this made for- it completely destroyed our plans for the day and no one at the hotel felt compelled to take care of us. Not even offered a bottle of water during the whole ordeal, among other things. Needless to say, this hotel does not live up to expectations. Unless you want your car given away, stay somewhere else. read more

BED BUGS WARNING Stayed here for a few weeks while I was in town. I got destroyed by bed bugs. I attached photos of the bites and received several new bites every morning while staying at the hotel. I didn't realize I was getting destroyed by bed bugs until someone pointed out to me that they looked like bed bug bites. Unfortunately, I had no experience to bed bugs until this incident, so I had no idea what to look out for. I brought the bugs back home and now I have to figure this mess out. The hotel is more interested in reputation control by denying the issue rather than helping me work through this, so I thought I would post my pictures. Otherwise, my stay at the hotel was great and I had previously posted a very positive review, until I realized how they dealt with this incident. read more

We just returned from a 5 night stay in Nashville and stayed at the Thompson hotel. We loved everything about it. The hotel is very clean and beautifully decorated. Each day we were provided with complimentary water bottles for our room. It is in a great location in the Gulch making it walking distance to many locations and Uber or scooter rental close to others. The staff was VERY friendly and even greeted us by name as we came and left the hotel. They were very personable and brought us a sweet note and some Champagne to help us celebrate our anniversary. On July 4th the hotel staff brought us an "I believe in Nashville" magnet and edible treat along with a note of thanks for staying at their location. I especially want to comment about Rebecca at the front desk that checked us in. She was wonderful and represents the hotel very well. We will definitely be back in Nashville again and would love to stay at the Thompson Hotel. read more

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. I drove in from Memphis and valeted at about 10:00pm. The next morning, it took them 45 minutes to find my car. They finally pulled it around and 1000 feet after pulling off the back bumper basically fell off. I immediately came back. The manager immediately denied the possibility it was them. After three weeks "investigating,". They denied liability and accused me of wrecking after I pulled out. I'm filing suit tomorrow Top notch service!!! read more
