This will always be a classical favorite. I love the track on the TOP of the seats instead of the bottom. It's fun to watch your feet dangle and there be nothing under you. Super nostalgic

Raptor's cobra roll was the 1st of its kind. Essentially, back-to-back sidewinder elements = 2 inversions.

SIT, & PREY Get ready to take flight on one of the most illustrious inverted roller coasters ever built. Coaster manufacturers Bolliger & Mabillard decided to break the mold with this installation at Cedar Point. Previously, they'd churned out clone after clone after clone of 'Batman: The Ride' at various Six Flags (some a mirror image of others, but otherwise identical layouts). They custom-tailored the track to run alongside the main pedestrian midway, beckoning victims---er, riders to enter the queue and brave this green winged monster. Debuting in 1994 as the longest (3,790ft), fastest (57mph), and tallest (137ft) inverted coaster in the world, Raptor revolutionized the way amusement parks worked with coaster companies to best fit their needs for a new attraction. Without Raptor, there would be no 'Montu', no 'Alpengeist', no 'Top Gun: the Jet Coaster' and definitely no 'Banshee'. Give credit where credit is due, folks. ~Special ride elements~ *100ft vertical loop *zero-G roll *cobra roll *corkscrew *corkscrew Perhaps because of its notoriety, or perhaps 'just because', Raptor is listed at the very first entry on RCDB, the web's most well-known roller coaster encyclopedia (that's to say, Raptor's web address extension is http://rcdb.com/1.htm ) Kinda cool fun fact. Bright green neon trim was recently added to the lift hill and glows brightly after dusk. The trains roar through all 6 inversions relatively well (if a tad rough), and the ending 540° helix pulls some nasty positive G's (in a good way, though). Trains are the standard 4 across in 8 rows, and the restraints are still comfortable, no problems there. Station operators used to be considered the best in the park and always had the funniest quips, sayings, and generally the fastest dispatch times. On my visit, they were just O-K. ?BinsNoBins? = I forgot, but I want to say NoBins, though I might be wrong. Best to leave your valuables with a non-rider or stow them in a locker. Eric S's Cedar Point coaster ranking : 6th out of 13. Verdict : Raptor still kicks plenty of ass and takes a whole bunch of names. While the back row delivers a far more intense, body-crushing experience (fun), the front row offers a view that cannot be surpassed. It's a toss up between the two, quite honestly. Still popular. Still awesome. Still worth the wait for the first row. Make plans to kick the sky with Raptor on your next trip to Cedar Point.

So... this was my first trip to Cedar Point (however, I've had a lot of experience with amusement parks and rather intense roller coasters) even though I live in Ohio. Well, I had already ridden Rougarou, Gatekeeper, and a couple other coasters, and I new that was the last one I wanted to try (I still was a little too, you know, complete and utterly terrified I guess would be the right phrase, to try Millennium Force, Maverick, Steel Vengeance, and ValRavn). So I realized I had to at least give it a try, and IT WAS WELL WORTH IT!!!! This was the one of the most thrilling roller coasters I've ever rode, and I've rode some of the major ones! It was by far the most unique of them all (most are pretty much the same: a couple loops here and there, and a speed of at least 55 mph. It gets kinda boring after a while.)! It was an inverted, floorless beast of a coaster with 6 inversions and a top speed of 57 mph! You don't see many like that!!! And it is just as thrilling as it sounds! You get some serious G's on most of the turns, and all of the inversions! It was not very uncomfortable compared to a lot of other coasters, either. The first drop is also pretty steep, so you feel pretty weightless. You feel pretty secure in your seat, too. But like pretty much any Cedar Point coaster, it doesn't take away any of the thrill. Now I think this is pretty obvious, but this is NOT a beginner coaster. If you don't have much experience with very intense roller coasters, I would not recommend it. But if you are an experienced coaster enthusiast, then heck yeah, I recommend it all the way!!!

Coming into our trip to Cedar Point, Uncle Bob said Raptor was his favorite coaster. I think it might have been displaced by Gatekeeper but I neglected to ask for a status update so I'm not sure. At any rate for him it's at the top or close to it. As for me, I rank Raptor lower on the list. Six inversions are fun, but the first drop is a little underwhelming. As for scenery there's not much to speak of. B & M did a fine job shoehorning this coaster into a small footprint between the main midway and Blue Streak, but the upshot is Raptor just keeps wrapping around itself and riders are left mostly looking at green metal supports or brief flashes of sky above. Raptor runs a bit rough but just rough enough to keep things interesting. You really feel like you're rumbling through the course. Uncle Bob and I waited about an hour to get on Raptor, which to me is just too long for a ride that's fun but not stellar. For an over 20 year old ride Raptor still packs 'em in. Maybe it's the fact that it's the first coaster queue you arrive at after passing through the main gate. And we rode Raptor in the morning when lines at the front of the park are bound to be longer. I do like the Raptor and all, but it's just not a coaster I'm giddy to ride multiple times especially if the wait is long. I have a feeling that if I ever make it down to King's Island and ride Banshee it will blow Raptor out of the water the same way Vortex blew Corkscrew out of the water back in the day.

My favorite ride at Cedar Point. The Raptor is a smooth coaster that lets your feet swing, and races you through the air. The rapid changes in vector, and soaring heights of the spins and loops makes the name of the ride fitting. Think of this as a less aggressive Maverick. Check the front right seat of the ride. Best on the train, with an unobstructed view, the best view going over the drop, and the wind truly in one's faces.

Love this ride! The only thing I don't like about it, is the bumpiness. It feels like you brain is being rattled. Might give you a headache.

So I'm going to say that the ride itself is exhilarating and fun but the fact that it's only 1 minute long is a bummer. I wouldn't find myself waiting to ride this for longer than a half hour. Not going to waste time in a line for a ride that's not very long. But the whole theme of it is pretty original. When I'm not on it and you hear the noises, it can be deceiving of what the noises are but when youre on the coaster you realize it's like... sound affects of sirens singing! The whole 90 degree shift hold and drop is epic and worth the lack of time in the ride but it's honestly disappointing how short it is.

Luckily when we waited it ended up being about 45 minutes. What makes this ride unique is the 90 degree tilt at the beginning. The rest of the ride is a combo of barrel rolls and high speed turns. I think I would've enjoyed the ride more if the queue had more shade. By the time you're at the front you're exhausted from the heat. This is a ride where you cannot bring anything with you. There are small complimentary lockers right before the metal detectors.

It's got this wild, untamed wilderness vibe that perfectly fits its name. The first lift hill leads into a jaw-dropping 95-degree drop that instantly wakes you up, followed by crazy, whip-fast turns that keep your heart racing the entire ride. The sleek design, bold colors, and overall atmosphere make it feel like you're on a roller coaster adventure through the backcountry. One of my favorite moments is the unexpected launch underneath the station that shoots you toward the water section -- it's a rush like no other. Like Millennium Force, Maverick's iconic silhouette is visible from the road as you approach the park, a beacon of thrills calling you in. Ride Stats: 4,450 feet of track * 70 mph top speed * 95-degree drop * 2 minutes 30 seconds ride time Best Seat: Front row for pure speed, back row for maximum airtime Pro Tip: Avoid the midday crowds -- rope drop or the last ride of the night means way less waiting. Photo-Worthy? Absolutely, especially near the first drop and water section. Personal Note: This coaster quickly became my favorite at Cedar Point for its unique mix of wild design and intense thrills. Every ride feels like a new adventure, and that launch under the station still gets me every time.

Blue Streak is an important part of Cedar Point history with it being their oldest roller coaster. There was a storage bin to put your belongings, so that was a plus! I enjoyed every aspect of this coaster. It did have some shaking on the track, but that was expected. The first drop felt great! I feel that this coaster is a classic and I'm glad it's appreciated! Overall, Blue Streak was an excellent way to start off my day. I'm glad I chose to ride this one first. I can't wait to ride it again! Date of visit: 07/25/2023

We're here today to ride Blue Streak. A classic wooden coaster located at Cedar Point…read more Now, this ride is the last of the wooden coasters at Cedar Point. Most of them being old asf from the 30's, that were demolished long before I was alive. So I never got to ride those. And then there was Mean Streak which.... didn't have a good reputation and was RMCd into Steel Vengeance. So that leaves Blue Streak. And all I can say is that this ride is FREAKING AWFUL. I'm sorry if you like it, I stand by it. So what makes Blue Streak so bad? Well let's get into it. We first get into the PTC wooden coaster trains. Which, these are not well made. They're crampt, and the lapbar DIGS into your legs. So if you're riding with a larger rider, it's not gonna be fun. So the ride hasn't started yet and I already hate it. NOT A GOOD SIGN. We then head leave the station, and head up the lift hill. We then head down the first drop, I think there's airtime? I can't tell. This ride is too busy trying to send me back to the chiropractor for me to notice. And the worst part is, this ride is going SUPER fast. On most coasters, that would be awesome as it means you get airtime. But here, you're having your shins get crushed by those awful restraints while the ride tries to shake you around and bully you like that one girl did to me back in elementary school (Thanks for that Rachael). After going through several of these airtime hills, I wanted to get off. But sadly, we have to brace for that awful turnaround which makes you feel like you're in a car accident. You then have to brace for even more airtime hills as this ride goes at full speed. Continuing to beat the crap out of you as you scream "OW OW OW." Eventually, you hit the brake run. Thanking the lord that it's over. I'm honestly really sad to write this review. I did NOT expect to have this opinion on Blue Streak. It's a historic ride that on paper should be good. But you can tell that Cedar Point has not been taking care of it. Because now it's on the same level of rides as Manhatten Express before the 2022 refurb, Green Lantern, and Coast Rider. I never got to ride Mean Streak, but I imagine I'd like that ride more than this. At least Mean Streak looked to be smooth and was just boring. This was just brutal. I'd call for the wrecking ball, but like I said, it's a historic wooden coaster. And we all know how the OTHER Blue Streak turned out (F*CK YOU TODD JOSEPH). So if Cedar Point could, I'd love to see GCI or the Gravity Group come in and give this ride a makeover to make it good. Until then, I would NOT recommend riding Blue Streak unless you're a historic coaster nut or you're wearing lots of padding.
